Read Run 5K recap

My first post injury race!  Woke up at 6:30 to make some brekkie and coffee.  I used to do the 1-minute muffin before races, then I moved to protein oats.  I had those today.  I skip eggs on race day.

This bowl had oats, pumpkin, 1/2 scoop whey protein isolate (plain), 1-1/2 tsp of molasses.  Filling.  This was about 2 hours pre race, so it could settle and pump up my glycogen stores.

I was a little concerned about this race because my back has been aching the last couple days, not sure why, but it isn’t really painful, so I decided to run.  I also knew there was a small hill at the beginning of the race, and I have only done flat since hurting myself.

Not so great weather at first:

We met my sister there!!

And the characters were out.

This run benefits the Literacy Volunteers New York organization.  Some participants dressed up as literary characters, and a lot of spectators did, so that was fun.

The rain stopped and I shed my jacket and just wore my trisuit.  I am so glad because I was chilled to start, but was one sweaty lady by the time I finished.

I started off pretty good and found a nice pace to run.  The first hill was not so bad, although my thigh was saying “what is this?” LOL.  It was a short hill, though and flat until the last down hill.  I always run faster in races than in training, and John and I were saying how part of it is crowd encouragement, a little adrenaline, and the ability to sort of pick off runners as you go through the race.  As I approach someone, I will try to pass them and just go on doing that.

I was surprised that I was passing people towards the end.  I felt quite good, and the aching in my back didn’t get any worse (yay!).  My legs were fine.  I am also always surprised at how many people run really fast, then stop and walk, then run really fast.  You play leap frog with those people the whole race, you know?

I crossed the finish line in 32:40!  That is way faster than I was thinking it was going to be. I was just hoping for under 35.   Last year, I finished in 29:52, so not too far off the pace.  I should be back sub 30 later this summer.   10-1/2 weeks ago I couldn’t even sit up and I am so thankful to be almost back to normal.   Yay!!

John was Mr. Speedy at 26:30.  He is very fast now.

Post race, I had 1/4 of an orange and then we stopped for the best bagels around at Uncommon Grounds!

This place roasts their own coffee, too.  Check out this massive roaster.

Happy race participants.

(John is such a goof 😀 )

Unfortunately, I still have to work today, so while you are reading this (Sunday at any rate), I am hard at work.   😉

No sugar day and Slim-Shoppin’ article!

Slim-Shopping has posted an article on my weight loss, sharing the company of bloggers like Lisa, Shelley, Diane, and others, so if you would like to stop by and read Jennifer’s site, please do!

Boy did I sleep well last night!  Guess it was that long bike ride or something.  I got over 8 hours, which is unheard of for me.  My legs felt a little tired, but good.

I decided that today would be a no-sugar day.  Started off with a bowl of cream of wheat cooked with a banana and 2 egg whites, topped with pecans and a little prune puree.

Doesn’t it sound like something a 95-year-old would have for breakfast?  It was good, though.  Except I would have like some fluff on there 😳

Started work on the most frustrating of notes after a 4-day hiatus.  You know those days where there are computer issues and you just cannot be productive at all?  I really need to find a company that has a different platform to work in.  Their in-house programmers really created such a clunky software platform instead of using industry standard ones.  It creates a lot of headaches all around and they are constantly updating it.  I spent a lot of the morning as close to crying from frustration without actually crying.  Great day to decide to go no sugar…..

This is Pixie trying to ignore all my cursing today:

I took a break for lunch and made the chicken curry salad that I have been eating lately.

Yum!  Things settled down a bit and I was able to get work done, but it put me a couple hours behind.  I was hoping to get in an afternoon run, but that wasn’t going to happen.  I was so ready for the latte this afternoon:

My beloved caffeine friend (sprinkled with nutmeg).  I also had a dish of blueberries:

Blueberries are such a fun and interactive food, don’t you think? (or is it just me?).

I was going to make BBQ shrimp for dinner, but BBQ sauce has sugar in it, so I had to think of something else.  When in doubt – go eggs!

Feta/egg/egg white puff (cooked in the microwave for about 1.5 minutes).    I poured the brussel sprouts onto the plate and they landed onto my pear.  Ick! I am one of those people who doesn’t like my food touching too much.  I’ve always been that way.  Gravy was always problematic 😀

I decided to take a run after dinner.  I headed down to the track and started plodding.  It was really hard tonight.  I think it was probably because I biked 40 miles yesterday (duh).  After 2 miles, I started to pull to the right, so I stopped.  I have a race to run on Sunday and I don’t want to mess that up.  I have to say that I have really lost confidence in my running since my injury.  Very curious that I so looked forward to a long bike ride yesterday, and running 3 miles  fills me with a little unease.  I worry that I won’t be able to finish the race (not really likely, but the feeling is still there).  I think I won’t feel right about it until I get back to full speed and strength.

I am off to make a protein snack and company is on the way over, so I am out of here! Have a great night 🙂

Question:  Are you a food separator?

Brick in training

I am glad you all like the lifting move of the week.  It’s fun to do and keeps the blog from getting boring, you know?

Today is a scheduled run day for me, but I decided not to do it in the morning because it looked like it was threatening rain and I didn’t want to go to the gym and treadmill it.  So, it was breakfast time!  I was concerned that the day would start off bad because of this:

(mmmm…. waffle runoff…..)

But they turned out fine.  Protein waffles with the yummy banana/maple syrup topping (recipe).

I started work early.  Excited to finish up early to start my 4-day weekend.  Yay!  Busy, too.  Busy days go by fast, though!  Soon enough, it was time for lunch.  This was supposed to be an egg sandwich, but the bread John made got moldy (that’s what happens with homemade sometimes).  So I had the egg/laughing cow/hot sauce by itself:

This new bottle of hot sauce has one of those tiny shaker holes on it.  Not gonna work for me, so I just unscrewed the lid and poured.

John has been the foodie king lately.  He made up some of what he calls chocolate chip protein power cookies, which uses brown rice protein powder in them.  I’ll see if I can’t get the recipe from him.  They were pretty good –

Especially with my latte 😀

I finished up work and decided to go out for the run.  It was cloudy the entire day except for the 1/2 hour I was outside and running.  I was so incredibly sweaty because of the sun and humidity.  Nothing like running at 4:30 pm, right?  My leg did pretty well, although my knee had a sharp pain around 2.5 miles and I thought I would have to stop, but it subsided into a bit of an ache so I finished out 3 miles.  That was weird.  Felt stronger, though.  No galloping run this time, so the 5K race next week will be a go.

I decided to flex my post run power a little since I was wearing my trisuit to run in:

Loose skin on the bottom, nice bicep on top!  Flexing actually helps pull up the loose skin.  Wish I could go around all Arnold all the time LOL!  John said he was married to a lifting geek…..

Cooked up some BBQ shrimp for dinner.  Need a trip to the smokehouse – we are out of chicken!!

Had a babybel with it (that white thing) because the shrimp was only 2.5 oz and we ran out of that, too.

Sweet tooth satisfaction:

Homemade chocolate fluff.

I decided I wanted to start my weekend off with a library trip, and John said he would meet me for yogurt afterwards, but then I decided to bike instead of drive!  A pseudo brick in the making!  I have to say that I was pretty tired, though.  I could feel my right leg pulling the clips of my shoes more.  That’s how you get lopsided thighs

I picked up this book, and had some pistachio frozen yogurt.

Total bike time: 13 miles.  Put the run and the bike a little closer together and it would have been an official brick.  I can’t wait for the duathlon this fall!  Burned a lot of calories today and ate okay, too (little snacky).  Weekend has officially started – woohoo!!

Have a few nice flowers for the Friday blooming series tomorrow!

Thanks and a little more running

Happy Memorial Day!  A big thank you to all who have served and our going to serve our great country.

I have to work today (not complaining, though, seriously), but it still feels kind of like a holiday, you know?  My gym is closed today, so no strength workout.  That means brekkie a little sooner 😀

After letting breakfast settle, John and I went to the track for a run.  Feeling optimistic here:

I figured I would let my leg be the judge.  For the first mile, I was concerned about even doing 1.5 miles.  My left leg is fatigued.  But, I kept going.  It was strangely smoky out, too.  I think someone was burning brush.  I thought that was slowing John down, because he only passed me a couple times.  It never dawned on me that I might actually be going faster than I did the other day (duh).

After 10 laps, I was actually running okay still, although my leg was tired.  I talked to my body.  Heart said “Doing fine, this is slower than normal cardio anyway”.  Right leg said, “Doing fine, as long as you don’t ask me to carry the load of the left leg.”  Left leg said “Geez, Lori, I am pretty tired, but I will give it my best shot.”  So, I kept going for the final 2 laps.  My gait was starting to look a little funny by the end and I pep talked my way through the last lap with “Come on leg, you can do it!” “Just a little more.” “Don’t give up!”  John said he heard something, but didn’t know what I was saying.  Probably a good thing.

Anyway – I did 3 miles!  In 34:45.  That’s only about 5 minutes off my normal pace, so I couldn’t be more pleased.  I am almost back.  Or like John says, I am in the general vicinity.

Post workout drink:

Got to work and it was busy, surprisingly.  I kind of had that mental expectation that it would be a slow holiday and got a shocker.  Oops!  Does that ever happen to you?

Lunch break!

John made these wheat rolls for the picnic on Saturday and they are perfect for a little egg salad sammie.

And fresh blueberries at a good price.  It’s about picking season!  I can’t wait to get the first 4 pound bucket of blueberries again so I can be in an antioxidant coma with blue teeth soon…..

One thing about living on the main road in town, we don’t have to drive anywhere to see the Memorial Day parade as it comes right in front of our house!  It’s kind of nice. This is the view from our porch:

A bazillion emergency vehicles, which they love to do around here:

And then the little league teams that throw candy:

Very short parade (small town), but cute.  John made lattes when it was over:

and I had a bar:

Regarding what I was saying yesterday, 105 is *not* my goal weight.  I just wanted to clear that up.  That was what I was told it should be when I had lost weight in my 20s.  I was so bummed that I still had 45 pounds to go (when I actually looked pretty good), that it seemed insurmountable.  So I gained more :D.  Now my goal is actually 135, which is quite a bit more reasonable, and truthfully, there really is no reason I shouldn’t shoot for it at 5’2″.  That way I can keep my muscles and my curves (and my food).

Dinner time!  John threw a couple of ears of corn on the grill in the husks.  So good.  I love grilled corn.  It adds a little extra sumthin sumthin to it.

This is how Pixie spent the holiday:

She just barely opened her eye as if to warn me not to disturb her LOL!

Evening snack:

Plus we are going out for a coffee.  😀  I am paying the piper for the run earlier (this is my new favorite saying).  I have no strength in my leg left because I used it all up.  Oooops.  Guess tomorrow will be an easier day.  I’ll recap May and set new June goals tomorrow.

Question:  How did you spend Memorial Day?

Sm’oats!

I slept in some today!  Yay!  I woke up around 7 am, which is pretty late for me.  Had a pre workout snack of half a sandwich thin spread with some Nuttzo.  That’s unsweetened nut butter that is crunchy with seeds!

It was almost 50 degrees, so I laced up and went down to the track to run.  No school this week, so I could run without feeling like a stalker.  While the track can be boring, I do like it because I can just go on autopilot and think.  No worries about traffic or crossing the street or getting too far from home.  Just me, my tunes, and the early sun.  I did 4 easy miles.  I really need to do speed work (note how I keep saying that…), but I am just kind of lazy about not doing it.

It started to cloud up as I finished up and now it is raining!  I have been thinking s’mores a lot lately, so I had to find some way to incorporate that into breakfast without going overload.  So I present the sm’oats!

  • 40 g of Multigrain hot cereal (130 cal)
  • 5 g of dark cocoa powder (10 cal)
  • 1 small banana mashed (90 cal)
  • 2 egg whites (30 cal)
  • 12 g of Fluff  (40 cal)
  • 1 square of crumbled graham cracker (35 cal)

I mixed the cereal and cocoa powder and added to boiling water with the mashed nana.  Cooked until almost done and tempered in the egg whites.  Then topped with fluff and graham cracker!  Total calories for the bowl is 335 calories.  I carefully measured everything, because it would be so easy to go overboard and pack on the calories.  That’s pretty much why I weigh things, because if I go by teaspoons and tablespoons, I get a bit generous and still call it the lower number.  Not sure who I think I’m fooling that way 😉

Lunch time included some more leftovers.

Stuffed shells – I hadn’t had those in years, but they were on the Easter menu and I forgot how good they were.  I don’t eat a lot of pasta anymore (being a volume eater and all), but I do like it.

And this was the tartest kiwi ever!  Dang I think they crossed the tree with a lemon or something.  Hope the other 2 aren’t quite so tart.

Update on the downward scale movement.  I lost a net of 1 pound in March.  The turtle is back!  I don’t know why I sometimes put myself at odds with myself by working heavier weights and then expecting the scale to go down.   Some of my snacking isn’t all that conducive, either LOL!  Working muscles harder and I get so hungry, so I eat.  I’ll just keep trucking along.  If I lost a pound a month for 6 months, I would be happy.

Snacky time!  John made me a protein latte, which I paired up with some dark chocolate.

Lattes, chocolate and rainy days are made for each other, don’t you think?

This morning, I pulled out what I thought was chicken to drop in the crockpot and found out it was pork.  I decided just to do that anyway.  I added some homemade salsa (from one of our customers) to the cooker and dropped in the pork loin.

Delicious!  Paired with the usual 😉

Tidbit:  On yesterday’s post, I mentioned doing lower weights and higher reps.  The reason for that is periodization.  I did 4 weeks with lower reps and heavier weights, now I am doing at least 1 week at higher reps and lower weights to help with endurance (slow twitch muscle fibers) to help with my bike riding.  Now that warm weather is here, likely to change up some routines!  It’s so hard to do all I want to do in a week of workouts.  I need to focus more on what I need to do to reach certain goals (i.e. 100 mile bike ride.)

John and I went out for a little together time tonight.  He wanted to go to the library, and you know I won’t turn that down or the coffee afterwards.

I was going t to get the 2nd Twilight book out.  I finished the first one.  I am not totally sure I liked it, but I can certainly see why they are popular.  All of the others were checked out, so I got a Stephen King short story book instead 😀

Snack while updating this post:

I love butter snap pretzels.  They are even better when paired with chocolate chips, although I restrained myself 😀

Have a great night!

Dead lifts and tofu = nofu

Hello from Rainville.  It has been so wet this week!

We are supposed to get a big warm up later in the week and I am sure the garden is going to go gangbusters after all this rain!  This weather meant indoor running today.  I don’t like running in the rain (or doing much in the rain, really).  So, hopped on to the gym and did my requisite 4 miles.  I really should start doing some speed work, as we have a race coming up in April.  I know my time has slowed since last fall.

After running, I came back to absolutely no coffee in the house ready to go.  That is complete panic!  John forgot to mention to me that he used the last bit yesterday afternoon for lattes, or I would have roasted some up last night.  So, that was what I was doing instead of eating – roasting coffee in the popcorn popper 😡   Although, it does not get any fresher than that!

I made a different topping for my protein waffles today:

This is 1/2 cup of frozen raspberries, 1 tsp of honey, cinnamon, and 1/4 cup of FF ricotta cheese all mashed together and heated up.  It was quite good and a nice change from blueberries.

Went to an old standby for lunch:

This is a chicken sandwich with laughing cow and some strawberry jam!  I love this combo.  However, I found out that the Arnold Sandwich thins now are now made with sucralose (I am positive they were not before).  Yuck!!!!

I want to show you all how lifting heavy does not make you bulky.  I did dead lifts at 95# yesterday (and they were hard).  Check out the tiny lady doing 100# dead lifts (a million of them) and making it look like snap.  Strong does not equal bulky!  This is a full deadlift.  Sometimes called sumo, I think.  Different than stiff/straight leg dead lift.  Probably the 2nd best full body exercise next to  barbell squats.

I bet she felt those the next day….

Afternoon snack was a little protein powder and fluff pudding. New PP today sweetened with Stevia. It’s pretty strong stuff!  I thought I took a picture, but I guess I didn’t.  😳

I finished up work early today!  Yay!  Love those days, especially after a rough day yesterday.

Dinner time involved something new for me:

I had the brilliant idea that this would taste good if pan sauteed with some ginger sesame sauce.  My plate:

With roasted sweet potato chips and brussel sprouts.

2 things were eaten off that plate and I will give you 2 guesses.  Somebody swapped out  a can of tuna for the tofu to get the protein because I didn’t feel like getting anything else ready.  Epic fail on the tofu.  It wasn’t the taste so much (there wasn’t any), but the texture was just awful, awful, awful.  Mushy and gelatinous in the middle.  And this was the firm stuff!  I may try blending the rest up in a shake or something to not waste it, but never again.

After dinner, John and I hit the town for a little shopping.  John needs shoes.  Didn’t score on any foot wear, but we did stop for some R&R:

Tall decaf latte with a shot of protein.  I didn’t realize Starbies still did the protein shot, so I asked – and they did!  Go me!

Hopefully tomorrow will be a biking to bagel day if the rain stops overnight.

Question: Is it rainy where you are?

Spring in my step

I am so sorry I didn’t include a P for Pixie yesterday!  So, I will make up for that.  I think she is more popular than I am……..

It is a glorious pre-Spring day.  I knew I wanted to run outside, but not until later so I slept in until 7:15!  Yay!  Felt pretty good, too.   I wanted protein waffles today, but with a different topping:

This was an apple cooked in a tsp of butter, 1 tsp of brown sugar, an SL of cinnamon, and about a tbsp of water.  I put a lid on the frying pan and let it steam a little bit.  Yum.  I might do more water next time and thicken it up to make a sauce.

Got to work early today while waiting for the temps to rise.  It was 26 degrees this morning, but low 50s this afternoon!  Woo Hoo!  Protein snack mid morning:

Here is a gratuitous Pixie pic.  John is playing with her:

Lunch time!  I had the last can of tuna today.  Officially tired of tuna, and this can has been here for a few weeks.

Nom, nom!  After digesting for a while, I got ready to run.  Hello vitamin D!

I’m not exactly sure what this pose is supposed to be.  I kind of look like a weathervane.  Did 4 miles today.  Felt pretty good except for mile 3, where I started to get tired, but I was running into a headwind.

Check out what else I spy with my little eye:

This made me dance around with joy!  These are the black and white tulips coming up.  Gonna be time to trim back and clean out the garden.  Happy, happy!  You all know how I love my garden 😀

After the run, I needed a snack:

Lattes make me happy.  I thank whatever Ethiopian goat chewed on the first coffee beans so that I can have this cup.

Dinner time and I had a frozen crabcake.  I baked it in the toaster oven (although I secretly long to deep fry it).   ….insert peanut eating here

Brussels with cranberries and clementines round it out.  I was so paranoid slicing the brussel sprouts because I did a report today where someone sliced off the end of their thumb with a mandolin.  One of those reports that make your toes curl while typing it up. 😯

Tomorrow is the wearin’ of the green!  I need to think of some kind of green food to make for St Patty’s Day.  We have an Irish family!

I need to put something green on Pixie, too.  Bet she would love that.

My mom is coming over tonight, so we can pawn off some chocolate on her LOL!  I think tea and chocolate sounds like a good night tonight.

Question:  What is your heritage?

Peeps are the sure sign of spring

Woke up this morning and figured I would run outside today, so I ate breakfast first.  Custard banana oats!

Yum.  We sat and goofed around on the computers for a long time this morning and then when I looked up to run – it was sprinkling outside!  It looked like it would pass, so we waited a little bit and went out.  It was windy and cold.  Hit up the track, where I did 4 miles and John did 3.  Here is me finished.

Don’t be fooled by that smile.  What I really was thinking was “Who’s idea was this, anyway??”  I even voiced that to John a couple times, to which he said “We already established that it was your idea.” 😳

Came home and had a quick protein snack of powder mixed with water and some almond butter (really dry almond butter) before showering.

While getting ready, John asked if I wanted to go shopping! Was I going to say ‘no’?? I don’t think so!  We headed out to Saratoga Springs and the mall down there.  Stopped at Esperanto for a quick lunch.  They just remodeled and the place is a lot nicer.  Very local feeling:

Here I am all cleaned up.

And my hot date (he has windblown hair):

I had the beans and rice dish.

It was quite good, but a lot of food! I only ate about 1/2 of this figuring we would probably stop for coffee in a couple hours.  I was right!

We certainly have been going out a lot the last few days.  Not a lot of money each time, but it can add up.

We hit the grocery store on the way home and you can see the colorful display of Peeps!  That means spring is just about here, right?

I actually love Peeps. I remember when they just used to be the yellow ones!

Could I have put more of my favorites onto my dinner plate tonight?

This was a bagel thin egg sandwich with laughing cow.  Plus my 2 favorite produce partners!  Not that big a fan of the bagel thin, though.  It was pretty much and Arnold thin.

Speaking of berries, I got a great picture from one of my blog readers.  Summer sent me a photo of her at a strawberry festival in Florida last week.

A girl after my own heart….

Chocolate update.  I have been really good with the chocolate.  I had one square of John’s bar yesterday and today I just didn’t feel like having any.  Isn’t that weird?  Maybe it is just comforting to have all that chocolate in the house or something 😀

Question:  Peep lover or do you think they are gross?

Bloggy run day

It’s Sunday and back to work for me… sigh… The weekend goes all too fast.  We headed on down to Saratoga for a different bagel today.

It has such a nice atmosphere inside:

John and I both got the same banana nut bagel today with honey walnut cream cheese!

Got home and worked, worked, worked!  Really busy today (which is good).  Stopped for a quick lunch of a scrambled egg wrap with Laughing Cow and a plum.  These are starting to make a comeback in stores now!

Then I had a little dessert:

Worked a little more and then participated in the blogger run day by doing 3 miles!  It was so beautiful outside – 50 degrees and sunny.  The track was dry, so John came with to walk while I ran and take some action shots.  Still big snow piles everywhere, though:

Nice shot of me running away – don’t I look speedy?

Leave it to my husband to take a picture of my butt.  At least he didn’t zoom in….

Just passin’ by:

I have to admit that I just was not feeling this run at all.  I almost never run in the afternoon anymore, and my calves were complaining, which is really weird, but I think that was probably from biking yesterday.  It was a real slog getting through this.  But I finished!

I needed a pick-me-up after we got back, and this hit the spot!

Mmmmm…. lattelicious.

So an update.  The scale isn’t budging for me on my desire to go for 140, but my snacking has gotten bad again.  I really need to get serious and quit dinking around.  I am actually going to reduce my cardio a little bit, too, which will help with the snacking, I think.  I will have a running FAQ post up this week (I promise!).

Dinner was an old friend I haven’t had for a while – clam strips!  With some brussel sprouts and strawberries.  Tasty.

Done with work for the day and need to make a strength training workout for this week.  Back to lifting – yay!

I don’t watch the Oscars, but I guess those are on tonight.  The only movie I have seen in theaters in at least a year was The Princess and The Frog.  Can you believe that?  And the movie before that was Batman with Heath Ledger.

Question: Do you watch the Oscars?

Under the sea! AKA shrimp for dinner

** Don’t forget to enter the Attune giveaway **

Tuesday run day!  Since I did 3 miles yesterday, I did 5 today (usually 6).  Pretty standard treadmill run.  I was checking my Daily Mile log and I have run 152 miles since January 1st! 😯   And I don’t consider myself a runner first.  Interesting….  My legs felt pretty good.  Normally they are a little tired on Tuesdays after a Monday lifting session, but no lifting this week.  Can I say that I miss it already?  I need to get that lifting FAQ post going, if I can get some extra time…

After the run, I decided on waffles for breakfast!  You know how I love them.

Got started right away with work and I had a little help for a good share of the morning.

Sometimes she is so durn cute.

Cereal has come back into the house in the form of Kashi Go Lean.  I am okay so far with it (of course, I just opened the box).  Here it is mixed with plain greek yogurt, cinnamon, and strawberries.  Yum!

Actually, this Kashi hurts my gums a little bit because it is so crunchy.

I worked on a lot of endocrinology reports today.  That means a lot of patients with diabetes.  I still can’t get over how many medications some people have to take – as many as 12 different kinds in a day.  How do you keep that straight?  Unfortunately, it seems as though many patients just won’t change their diet.  Some do and the results can be quite amazing.  The right food and exercise can really be the best medicine you can take.

Afternoon deliciousness!

I sucked this one down in a hurry, and had a couple of these:

(recycled picture alert!)

Seafood for dinner.  I wanted more protein and a lower carb dinner, so that meant a non-veggie source.  Of course, the chicken was still frozen, but then I remembered the shrimp in the freezer.  That takes just a couple minutes to thaw.  3 ounces = 20 grams of protein! I sauteed broccoli in coconut oil, then added the shrimp, some slivered almonds, and BBQ sauce!

With a pear on the side dusted with cinnamon.  It’s funny how I am not a fish lover, but I loves me some seafood!  Crab is my favorite (especially the claw), then scallops.  I have to confess that I like my shrimp breaded best.  😀  Does shrimp have Omega 3?  I guess I should look that up.

The best part of my day?  Going out for coffee with my hubby!  John and I went out to Starbies for some caffeine and chit chatting.  It’s like date night 😳

Question: What is your favorite seafood?
