Monday and back to work for most people, although I started back yesterday. My Broncos are done for the year…. sigh…. time to put away the fan apparel for the year (except the snuggie – too cold to put that away). Now I need to root on my adopted team – The Saints!
Headed out to the gym this morning after a date with nut butter on it for a snack. We got a box of those big medjool dates rather than the Dole ones we usually get. Why did no one tell me how delicious they are?? I had no idea!
Anyhoo – here is today’s lifting workout – aka workout A:
- Chin ups: 2 sets of 2
- Barbell deadlift row combo: 3 sets of 8 at 65 pounds
Supersets of these 2 moves:
- 1-arm dumbbell snatch: 3 sets of 8 at 15 pounds
- Pliet squats: 3 sets of 8 holding a 35 pound dumbbell
Alternating sets:
- T-push ups: 3 sets of 3
- Bent over dumbbell row
Here is a video of the T-push up. Basically you start as a normal push up, then rotate the body so you are perpendicular to the floor and reach out the other arm to the ceiling. 1 set is a right and left push up. These are pretty hard. Turn down the sound button, btw…
In viewing this video, I see I need to rotate my legs more. It’s also like the anonymous workout – I could have at least smiled for you guys or even looked at the camera! 😳
Did some cardio on the stationary bike and then came home to waffle goodness!
Used my protein pancake recipe (with 2 egg whites instead of 1 egg). Topped with a mix of 1/4 cup lowfat vanilla yogurt and 1/4 cup of pumpkin with a dollop of cranberry sauce.
I vote this Yum+!!
Seems like most of you like Indian food. Yay! The nice thing about going to an Indian restaurant is that there is a huge variety of food to satisfy anybody from a vegetarian to a meat eater. That can be tough when choosing places to eat out at with a large group.
Speaking of Indian, I had the leftover dal from yesterday made it really multicultural for lunch with a mix of Greek and Mexican! I put the rest of the dal in a tortilla with a bit of brown rice and some feta cheese and heated it up in the microwave.
It was delicious! I need to make more lentils to have on hand.
I did well not snacking today. I am sitting here with my Beck cards and the one for me that says “It’s okay to be hungry.” I have a little trouble with that, but I went from latte time to dinner without snacking. Go me! Okay, so it’s only 2.5 hours, but hey – gotta start somewhere! Think I might discuss this tomorrow in a post.
John cooked up a couple burgers for dinner, which I have rarely, as you know.
This tasted so good! I put some laughing cow cheese on top and hot sauce! Loves me some hot sauce. I think it is my favorite condiment.
I can’t believe there is no more Monday Night Football! Now is the time when we start wandering around wondering what to do with ourselves LOL

Tomorrow is run day at the gym. Trying to decide how long I want to go for…..
Question: What is your favorite condiment?
oh there are so many condiments I like. Mustard, mayo, bbq, ketchup….basically any kind of sauce! lol 🙂

Your food pictures always look so good! You can pop me in the Indian food lover category. Unfortunately none of the rest of my family likes it.

Thanks for the video! I STINK at push-ups, but the measly, girlie ones that I do are giving me some definition to my arms. Well…okay, definition may be a stretch! There is a muscle forming under that flab 🙂
Wondering what your Beck cards are? I think I remember you mentioning them on my blog, but wasn’t sure what they were.
Go you for no snacky!

You’ll get there with the pushups. Just one at at time! I’ll have to show some of my Beck cards, or at least talk about them. I think I read the book some time last summer? I’ll have to check.
Those pushups look hard—in a good way!
My favorite condiment would probably be salsa, altho I think of it as more of a summertime condiment.
.-= debby´s last blog ..SCORE! =-.
Before the South Beach Diet, definitely ketchup, I am also a big fan of Hellman’s olive oil mayo and I loooove Dijon mustard.
Those pushups look HARD. I had mentioned before that you were a power house and it has been confirmed once again. Maybe one day I will be able to do one regular pushup.
My son does them upside down…he stands on his hands, props his feet against the wall and does them like that. Of course he is seventeen and has an awesome six pack to boot. Ah youth…definitely wasted on the young.

You make those push ups look easy! Of course you KNOW I had to try one after watching your video…they are HARD!
I’m rooting for the Saints – two of my co-workers are from LA (one from NO) and it’s been fun, seeing their excitement over how well the team is doing.
Condiments? Used to be mayo, but I haven’t had that in forever. I’d have to say a nice spicy brown mustard.

Haha – I knew you would try them out 😀
By the way, although the Sherlock Holmes was not at all who I was expecting, he was quite fascinating.

I don’t know that this qualifies as a condiment but I love crushed red pepper. I put it in soups, pastas, on salads, in stir fries, in other dressings, you get the idea. I actually don’t do it all the time but if you know that something needs a little kick it’s a great way to spice it up calorie free.

Awesome pushups! 🙂 Ok…you are about to make me go buy a waffle iron! You know I love the pancakes and those waffles look soooooo yummy!
I’m becoming a hot sauce fan. I like A1, mustard, olive oil mayo, etc. Actually I like a lot. .

Still trying to master a regular push up – you are amazing!
Lori — you are so strong! You pumped those push ups OUT. Wow. Can’t believe it. Am more excited than ever about NROWLW. Hope some day I can do that!

You’ll get there! Just do the program and you will be amazed at where you are 6 months from now.
That waffle looks so delish! Do olives count as a condiment? I have begun ordering out with no mayo and mustard instead and it isn’t so bad. I never thought I would prefer mustard to mayo.

across the proverbial board 🙂

Nice job on the push ups. I still can’t do more than one.
My favorite condiment…..ALL OF THEM. It is one of my biggest weaknesses.
That push up is kind of combining a push up with a side plank. If you just held it there for a minute it would be. Great work!

Holding for a minute and I would probably die. I can do side planks – but not with the pushup! Hmmmmm…. maybe challenge to myself??
Woman, you are fierce with those T push ups! I was so excited to be able to do side plank for 10 seconds but that’s awesome. I love anything vinegary like pickled peppers and mustard of all types. I try and limit the pickled things because they are so loaded with sodium which causes me to puff up like a Japanese Fugu but I keep lots of different varieties of mustard in house. Mustard offers lots of flavor with just a small blob.

Congrats on the workout & loved the video!!! Awesome! Hard stuff! And of course that food looks YUMMY! Especially that waffle!
Condiments.. I love my mustards! I look for ones with a better ingredient make up & a bit a spice or kick to them. I put mustard on veggies, chicken, turkey loaf or just about anything it matches up with… I love the spicy/sweet mustards that have a bit of both in the jar!

Looking great on those pushups! You must to so strong! I could never do that…yet!

Sorry to hear about your Broncos. My BF was hooting and hollering at his Chiefs. I could care less…
Don’t laugh, but one of my most favorite condiments is Korean soybean paste. It’s kind of spicy and very flavorful. You can add it to soups and sauces. I use it mostly on lettuce wraps. Yumm!

Guacamole. It’s the only condiment I crave!

YUM – those waffles look awesome!
Does hummus count as a condiment? I put it on EVERYTHING!

Seems to me you’ve got those push ups under control 🙂 you’re doing great!
I didn’t know you read a Beck book. Which one dit you read? I just bought The Beck Diet solution (luckily it’s translated in Dutch) and have planned to start day 1 next Monday.
I’m interested to hear more about your experience with it on your blog.
That’s the Beck book I read was the one you have. It has a lot of good things in it.
YUM to waffles! I love that video – amazing. My favorite condiment is mustard – all varieties!
.-= Diane Fit to the Finish´s last blog ..But I’m Tired =-.
Tartar sauce!! I don’t eat it because it’s mayonnaise based, and my homemade versions are never as good as the jarred full-fat versions 😉 But I love smothering fried fish in it, and even dipping my french fries in it.
You rock those T push ups!! I still can’t do push ups on my toes. I have zero strength when it comes to supporting my body weight with my arms.

Holy cow, am I ever impressed!!! You are strong! =)
I practice pushups every night. I can go down about an inch and then I’m right back up. One night I did three of those in a row! lol My stability ball came earlier this week and I’ve been doing them on that.
Some day I’d like to do pushups like you!
