Brick training day!

I actually slept until 7 a.m. this morning!  Yay!  It’s so hard for me to sleep that late, although I didn’t get to bed until after midnight.

It looked pretty cloudy this morning, so we weren’t sure if we were going to be able to ride or not.

Breakfast was so yummy:

chocoats2

  • 40 grams oats
  • 4 grams cocoa powder
  • 1 small banana
  • cinnamon
  • Topped with peanut butter and (oh no she didn’t!) a drizzle of chocolate sauce.

Yum!  After dinking around on the computer for a while and checking the radar, it seemed clear and I really wanted to check out the duathlon course since the road was all marked up for the race in 2 weeks (!!!!).  I actually was overdressed for this, as the closer we got to Albany, the warmer it was.  It was probably close to 60 and really humid.  Ugh!  I had on jogging pants and a long sleeve technical shirt.

We started on the bike route and first thing is a big hill, a steep hill!  Holy crow.  This is a tough course.  It is a beautiful course, though, I have to say.  It’s going to be awesome with fall colors in 2 weeks.

With the humidity, I just wasn’t feeling at my peak and was slow on the climbs.  John actually went ahead of me, which is pretty rare.  We stopped at mile 8 to have a snack (Balance bar).  I likely won’t do this on the actual race day, but I needed it since it had been several hours since breakfast.

snack

Then finished up that route.  After we got back I wanted to do the 2.2 mile run and John decided to go with me!  I about fell over.  Drank some coconut water and headed out.  After about 1/2 a mile, there was a hill…. a long hill…. a really long hill.  Probably 1/4 mile or so.  We managed to plod up and keep going.  This was the big reason I wanted to do the course ahead of time, because I didn’t want there to be any surprises, and now there aren’t.  I do have to say that I am a little scared though.  Remember that I have to do the run *twice* – once before the 16 mile bike ride and then at the end.

I think I can do it – does my face look scared? It is.

sweaty

This was after we did the run part.  I was drenched in sweat.  I just don’t do well in humidity.  GoWear fit said 658 calories burned for the bike/run. Sweet.

I think I scared the geese with my sweatiness – they are running away!

geese

It was time to eat then and we stopped at Pasta Factory:

pf

Ironically, neither of us got pasta 😀

I did have an awesome pear and gorgonzola salad with walnuts on a bed of spinach.  It was sooo good!

salad

Shopped for a while and looked at some fun Halloween stuff.  The mall had one of those giant costume stores that seem to pop up this time of year.

Then a stop for a latte!  Yum, yum.

latte

They made it all purty for me, too!

I am pretty beat.  I feel a mix of both being excited and nervous about the duathlon.  It is going to be tough, no 2 ways about it.

Throwback for dinner!

eiab

Eggs in a basket!  This was fun, since we actually had bread slices big enough to do this with (Nature’s Pride)

So – lucky you guys to have an early post from me tonight!  Tomorrow is back to work for me, and then football where my Broncos take on my dad’s favorite team the Cowboys (booooo!!!).  So we will be watching the game together.

Question:  Ever have eggs in a basket?

Biking and chinese food

Phew – I am feeling a little overwhelmed and busy lately!

A couple people commented about not seeing my triathlon videos – so here is the link to the post of the recap!

I did really well last night and didn’t eat any carrot cake that was for Mom and niece Devon:

cakeI just had tea and snacked on cantaloupe and grapes.  Thanks for providing those, Mom!!  😀

I was going to do a brick today, but decided I just need a long nonstop bike ride to the tune of 15 miles.  My duathalon is a 16 mile ride, so I need to keep doing the full 15 instead of breaking it into biking to breakfast/coffee, eating, and biking back home 😀

This was along the same road we did Saturday, although not the really hilly part.  It was a long and lonely road today since I was by myself.

road

Pretty durn cold, too!  It was 40 degrees and cloudy – plus a stiff wind. Check out this flag:

flag

At least the wind was blowing at my back on the way home.  Took me 1:21 to do the ride.

I had a Zone bar preride, which was good.  They just seem to last me a good while, so even though I want to cut them out of my life, it doesn’t seem too bad to have them in there.  I just have to not snack on them, but use them for a purpose.

I couldn’t decide what to have for breakfast and finally decided on warm and filling protein pancakes!  My Winney Farm blueberries are gone already, so it’s back to Wyman’s (which I also love).

breakfast

These were so warm and good in my tummy after a cold ride.  Plus coffee.  And speaking of coffee –  Hooray for caffeine!  Here is an article on some benefits of caffeine from one of my favorite blogs: Workout911

Spent a good portion of today training on a new account.  It’s nice to know they think highly enough of me to keep adding accounts, and it means that I should always have a steady flow of work.  Productivity does go down when learning, though.

Have you tried Attune bars?

attune

These are so good!  90 calories and full of probiotics and antioxidants.  Found in the refrigerated section. A little spendy, but I had a coupon 😛

Check out the chunks of raspberries in this:

So, John won the football picks this week, so that meant I had to take him out to dinner.  He wanted Chinese, so we hit up a place that has steamed brown rice available!  Isn’t that great?  Hope more places follow suit.  I broke one of my rules of not eating corporate meat because I needed protein.  I chose the beef and broccoli bowl with brown rice.

chinese I tried to eyeball about 1/2 cup of brown rice.  There was easily 1.5 cups in the bottom of this bowl.  It was pretty good!

We were going to bike there, but it started to sprinkle.  John still wanted to get a run in this evening, so I decided to join him for a bit.  We went to the track and he ran 3 miles while I did a run/walk combo.  If only my duathlon could be spread out like that with the bike in the morning and run at night!  It was weird running in the dark, though.

Question: When do you like to do your exercise?

Mini duathlon and french toast!

* Final challenge check in tomorrow!!*

Thank you so much for the congratulations on our anniversary!  😀

I decided to try the full format for the duathlon today of run/bike/run.  The temperature was pretty much perfect outside – mid 50s, although a little wet.  I was not feeling very hungry this morning after dinner last night, but I thought I should have a little something before going out.  Mini wheat pita toasted with some peanut butter.  Yum!

pita

I did a 2-mile run first, and decided that Indian food is not a good precursor to having a good workout.  I was definitely feeling bloated and heavy this morning.  Not the best of energy.  I purposely did not wear a watch today knowing that I wasn’t at my best before I even left the house.  Got back home, quick put on the helmet, slugged some water, and hopped on the bike.  I then did a 4.5 mile circuit.  Got back in the driveway and drank from my water bottle.  I had given it a squeeze while drinking and felt a sudden gush of water on my front.  I had actually snapped off the entire top of the bottle where the lid screws on.  I don’t know how that happened!  (Must be the lifting LOL).  I almost went running again with my helmet on because I got distracted with the water bottle – that would have looked dorky around the neighborhood…  2nd run was another 2 miles.  I was feeling kind of tired by the end and slow.  The real deal will be plugging another 12 miles of biking into this!  At least I know what the transitions feel like all around.  Run to bike is not bad.  Bike to run, still not my favorite.  I need to keep my bike mileage up in the next couple weeks.

I got this bread from Nature’s Pride yesterday as part of FoodBuzz Featured Publisher program.

naturespride

I decided that a new breakfast was in order – French Toast!  Can you believe there is no oatmeal anywhere?  Well, I guess it is one of the grains, but who’s counting?

ft3

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 slices of Nature’s Pride 12-grain bread.
  • Strawberries

This was delightful and oh so good!  This bread is hearty like many whole grain breads and didn’t get all soggy and fall apart when dipping into the batter.  That is usually the big problem with reduced calorie breads.  Each slice of this bread is 110 calories, but really worth it taste wise.  Although, the marketing of 14 grams of whole grains per slice irritates me.  That translates to 2 grams of fiber.

Good things – no preservatives and no HFCS!   Thank you Nature’s Pride!

Ever have those day’s where you just rock and roll?  I whipped through work today and finished just at dinner time.  6.5 hours and I did all my files.  Wish I had more days like that.

Someone who was not productive:

baby

I have never seen a cat that sleeps this much.

Now my evening is free!  I need to make sure I am productive and not wasting this free time.

I had a ginormous dinner:

din

One of my patented stir fries 😀  I had about 2.5 cups of cauliflower and broccoli in this with 3 ounces of chicken.  Very filling.  I needed it because this morning’s workout burned 600 calories!

Is this not the smallest clementine ever?  It’s about the size of a golf ball.

clem

The taste was pretty disappointing.  Kind of weak and bland.  Hope the other 3 pounds are better!

Question:  Do you live in an area where there is fall leaf color?

Powered by pumpkin!

Gorgeous day today! It was cold when we got up, 38 degrees. At least we weren’t going riding right away, so it had time to warm up into the 40s LOL!

Breakfast was pumpkin oats with the fresh made pumpkin. I love it! I like canned pumpkin, but the fresh is so different tasting.
proteinoats

I also added 1/2 a scoop of protein powder for a little extra something.  This bowl was really creamy and yummy.  Topped with some cranberry preserves.

Temps in the mid 40s and we headed out for the ride.  Packed wraps full of this mixture (plus some lettuce)

wrap

My curry chicken salad.    Plus brought the last 2 of the chewy granola bars I made the other day.  First part of the ride was brisk and flat.  It was really nice.  I was starting to get hungry since we had eaten 2 hours earlier, so we stopped around mile 8 for one of the bars.  It is a nice little parking area right by the canal.

ride

I’m all decked out in riding gear.  This jacket was one of my consignment store finds for $3!  I love this jacket.  I am wearing thin gloves under my biking gloves.  Doesn’t look cold, but it was.    I am so glad we stopped and ate, because about 2 miles later the hills came.  It was really rough!  My legs were kind of tired and sore today.  I really should not have ridden last night.  I was so glad to get to Greenwich after 16 miles.  We averaged 11.8 miles per hour on the way there, which was really good with the hills.

Ate our wraps and then started walking around the fall festival. Lots of store sales, hay rides (which we couldn’t find where they originated from), animals, music:

sheep

Found a christmas ornament store that was overwhelmingly christmasy!  It actually was very peaceful inside.

xmasshop

I bought a gift there for someone whose birthday is coming up soon 😀

Stopped for a latte here:

P9260013

latte

Then to go with the fall theme, bought a pumpkin cookie.  The biggest pumpkin cookie ever!

pcook

I think the band probably thought I was taking their picture.  Little do they know I am always more interested in the food LOL!   This was a good cookie.  It was kind of cake-like, yet chewy.  And it did not taste super fatty, if that makes sense.  It actually was very pumpkiny and good.  Enough so that John bought a couple to bring home.  They were only $1 each – now that is a bargain!

Greenwich is a cute little town. I loved all the little shops. It makes me miss when we had our own shop in Illinois. Sometimes I get that strong pull to open another.

Then it was time to get going home.  At least the majority of the ride was downhill.  Yay!  We got up to 30 miles an hour at one point, which was pretty exhilarating.  On the flats were were going 14-16 miles per hour.  Nice pace.  John said I was powered by pumpkin!  I need to get a t-shirt that says that. That cookie did me good.  The worst part was the last long climb to get to our house.  It’s a long hill that starts steep, then it just keeps going.  I had to really talk myself through the last 1/4 mile.  Anyone on the sidewalk probably thought I was completely insane.  So glad to get home.  My thighs need a day off tomorrow.

Had a quick stirfry for dinner of chicken, broccoli, Country Bob’s sauce topped with sesame seeds.

din

We were going to go to the balloon fest, but after being around people today, we just didn’t want to fight the crowds.  Plus, it is windy again, so the balloons might not even have gone off.  About 20 went off last night after we left, and there was a launch this morning.

We are going to go to the mall tonight to get my niece a birthday present.  Lots of birthdays and anniversaries in September!

NROLW and balloon festival bust.

Thank you for all of your opinions on my 2 dresses.  I should also note that those are the only 2 dresses I own!  As I lost weight, I have always worked without needed them, so I just got these recently.  I have John’s opinion on the 2 dresses, now I just need to make up my mind.  😀

Didn’t sleep really well last night (like that is anything new….).My legs are also a bit stiff from yesterday’s run.  We have a long bike ride tomorrow, so hope they feel better soon!

NROLW Stage 5 B

  • Deadlift/bent over row:  4 x 4  at 75 pounds
  • Single leg partial squats:  4  x 4
  • Wide grip lat pulldown:   4 x 4 at 70 pounds
  • Back extension:  4 x 4 at 100 pounds
  • YTWL:  4 x 4 at 10 pounds
  • Crunches, reverse crunches, lateral flexion:  3 x 10
  • Prone cobra:  3 x 2 minute holds

Then I walked on the treadmill for 15 minutes. Almost done with stage 5 – only 2 more workouts to go.  Then it’s the scary chinup stage :O

Yummy protein pancakes for brekkie!

brekkie

This plate is a little small for the blueberry sauce.  I almost made quite a mess.

Pixie was falling asleep watching me eat (yes, I was in a computer chair by the printer….).  P9250007_edited

Spent a good portion of the morning cleaning the house.  It’s amazing that we both work at home, and yet the house gets out of control at times.

Lunch break!

wrap

Tuna wrap and Kiwi!

I picked up a sweater at one of my favorite consignment shops today, plus the black shoes that you saw in in the dress photos.  I am addicted to consignment shopping!

The hot air balloon fest tonight was a bust.  It was pretty windy and cold, but we biked there anyway to see what was up.  Lots of people there, lots of food vendors, but no balloons.  At least they weren’t going up for a while.  There was a chance it would be later, but because we biked there, we couldn’t stay too late and had to leave time to bike home before dark.  We brought along a couple protein bars to eat instead of eating the stuff for sale there.

Hopefully balloons will go off tomorrow!  We decided to stop for some warmth on the way home:

dd

No donut for me, though!  I had this when I got home:

pear

So, Saturday should be a long bike ride to Greenwich for their fall festival, if my legs can hack it. They are a bit tired (shouldn’t have biked tonight). It’s 32 miles round trip. Going to pack some lunch foods and snacks and hit the road. Gonna be chilly, though. It’s perfect for a fall festival!

NROLW, drive by post

Sounds like most of you love cheese like I do!  Yay!

Going to a Tupperware party later, so thought I would squeeze in a partial post in case I don’t get by later.

Preworkout snack today:

chegb

My chewy granola bar.  This was good for over an hour, so I am happy with that!  Biked to the gym under gray skies this morning to do NROLW:

  • 1 arm dumbbell snatch:  4 x 4  at 25 pounds
  • 1 legged dumbbell deadlift:  4 x 4  at 30 pounds
  • Bent over barbell row:  4 x 4 at 75 pounds
  • 1 arm overhead dumbbell squat: 4 x 4  at 15/30 pounds
  • Incline dumbbell bench press:  4 x 4  at 25 pounds
  • Planks:  3 x 2 minute holds
  • Reverse wood chop:  4 x 4 at 50 pounds
  • Leg matrix

John arrived just as I was finishing the matrix and I had to get on the bike for bagels!   This workout took me an hour to do, which I don’t like – too long!

That was a tiring ride after that.  Need to rethink bike rides after the matrix LOL  (maybe I won’t be doing the matrix much in the future.  It’s not my favorite).

Had some delicious coffee and a bagel which I could barely wait to nosh on as I was so hungry!

bagel

So good.  I love eating after a workout because it is so satisfying!

It started to rain on us as we left.  That was no fun.  I don’t mind running in the rain, but when biking the rain blows into my face and is irritating.  It wasn’t heavy rain, so we just continued on to home.  My legs were filthy from a dusty backsplash.

Gotta get a lot of work done early. Talk to you later!

Question:  Do you own Tupperware?

Brick and duathlon

Decided on another brick today, this time the bike/run. I planned out a fairly straight bike loop to take twice of a little over 13 miles and then a 2-mile run. I drank this before going out:
pom

I have decided that this is not good by itself for fuel before exercising.  It’s just straight juice without any protein and it lasted all of about 5 miles.  POM is much better as a refuel during.  Lesson learned.  The bike ride was not really enjoyable, as I stuck to the main roads and there was traffic, school busses, traffic lights, and garbage trucks (my mother is probably freaking out reading this – sorry Mom!).   With all that, I did the 13 miles in 1:03 and I figured I was probably averaging about 13 mph.  Not bad.  Stopped at home and had some coconut water and felt super energized.  Gosh I love this stuff.  Makes me wonder if Gatorade is any different.  I did a 2-mile loop in a little over 21 minutes.  I swear I was going faster because I had pace music on in the 170s, so don’t know what is up with that.  I forgot how it feels to run after biking!  Blargh.

I was ready to eat off my own arm when I got done, and cooked up some protein pancakes.  These take no more than 10 minutes from start to finish, which I love!

panc

The app is filled out for me to do a duathlon in October!  I have sort of been training for it before making up my mind and I just decided to go for it.

duatho

I am ready already, since I am in really good shape with all the work I have done since spring  (did I just say that??).  I’m am nervous and excited.  At least having done a triathlon, I know pretty much what to expect and there is no swimming involved!   Hope it doesn’t snow.  Have a couple 5K in October that we are thinking of doing as well.  Gotta cram in the outdoor stuff while we can.

Lunch was so, so good today:

csalad

Curry chicken salad:

  • 2.5 ounces cooked chicken, chopped
  • 7 grapes chopped
  • 1/2 small granny smith apple, chopped
  • matchstick carrots, probably 1/4 cup
  • 1 tablespoon light mayo
  • curry powder
  • 1 tablespoon slivered almonds

Mix the mayo and curry powder thoroughly.  Add all ingredients except almonds together and mix well.  Place mixture on top of a bed of lettuce and top with almonds.  Yum!

Zoomed through work today.  Software problems on their end, which is annoying, but didn’t slow me down too much.

Had another of my chewy granola bars as a snack with my latte.  For those that asked, the cinnamon chips are just little sweet bits of cinnamon.  Like chocolate chips, only not chocolate.  Hershey’s makes them and they are usually in the baking aisle with the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and the like.  Addicting little buggers, too.  I can eat them out of hand easily.

Pixie is pretty much recovered from her declaw.  She won’t run around yet, but that might just be because she is the laziest cat in the world:

pixlazy

She loves laps!  She looks kind of annoyed that I took her picture, though LOL. I also heard from the rehabber that the little kitten is doing really well and has gotten medicine, vitamins and lots of food.  Hope he finds a good home when he gets a little older.

Quick and easy dinner – feta cheese omelet!

dinI love feta cheese.  It is one of my favorites along with gorgonzola and asiago.  Well, really I won’t turn any cheese down (except super stinky ones).

After dinner sweet:

werther

I am now free for the evening and John has twisted my arm into going out for coffee in a bit.  😀

September challengers – don’t forget to check in here!

Question:  What is your favorite cheese?

Cold bike ride and tips to fool the bulk eater.

It was 36 degrees (2 Celcius) this morning and we wanted to bike to bagels.  That is freaking cold to bike in!  I had on my technical turtleneck and 2 jackets.  I could barely move my upper arms, LOL!  Plus thin gloves and my biking gloves.  When it’s that cold, it’s really hard to get any speed up, since muscles are just stiff.  All I could think of was hot coffee during the ride. So I had 3 cups at Panera!  Plus an Asiago cheese bagel.

bagel

It was a little warmer after we sat for a while with the temps in the 40s.  The sun burned off the fog so it felt better coming home.  Just absolutely gorgeous, though.  Fall is my favorite season and weather like this is one of the reasons why.

It’s no secret that I enjoy food, and I would eat a lot just because I like to!  However, that is not conducive to weight loss (or maintenance, either…).  While I don’t like those really huge portions that are served at restaurants, I do like to feel that I am getting a full plate when I eat.  You eat with your eyes first, and if you think a portion is too small, you are likely to take seconds or eat more than you need. Here are some of my tips that I use to keep my eyes satisfied.

1.  Use a small plate.  When you see my meals, the plates look full because I use smaller plates.  Or I guess they are considered salad plates.  Anyway – the biggest plate I use is 8 inches across, and a couple are 6 inches.   Same thing with my oatmeal bowls.  They are small.  My eyes see this as a good portion that looks really satisfying.  See dinner here :

dinner

2.  Bulk up a dish with veggies or lower calorie filler.  Vegetables (if you like them) are a great way to make the portion larger without adding a lot of calories.  Couscous is also a good alternative.  While I love rice, the volume of couscous is more for the same number of calories.

3.  Make a tasting plate.  This is a fun way to eat and takes longer, so it seems as though you have more.  Like this:

lunch

4.  Cut food up into little pieces.  Example is lunch today.  I could have done cucumber spears and eaten the kiwi whole, but cutting them up took up a lot of room on the plate, making it seem like more food.   This also takes more time to eat, so your ‘full’ signal has a chance to kick in.

lunch

One thing I have noted about taking pictures of my food is that I pay attention to how the food looks.  Now I do this even if I am not taking a picture because I deserve to have a pretty plate every time I eat.  Give it a try and see if it doesn’t make your mealtime just that much more enjoyable.  You are worth taking that extra minute!

Added a new plugin called CommentLuv, which will show a link to your last post from your own when you comment.  Pretty cool!  I really, really like wordpress for blogging.

Question:  Do you use any of these tips or have any tips of your own on ‘fooling’ your eyes?

Fall festivals and goodbye little kitten!

Woke up early and bottle fed the little kitten for the last time.  He was waddling around the floor after John.  So cute.

Tried something different with my oats today – I cooked them with some chopped up apple and then topped with peanut butter.

oats

These were pretty good, although I love the creaminess that bananas and pumpkin add to the oats.

After breakfast it was off to drop off the wee one.  Here are a few more pictures of him.

I really hope I did the right thing.  Okay, I know I did the right thing. This woman has raised orphan babies and has all that is needed for this little guy.  He was so very sweet, too.  I didn’t cry, though – which is different from the last time I rehomed a kitty a couple years ago.

It was about an hour drive to meet this woman, and after that we stopped in Ballston Spa at the Village Bakery and shared these items.

villagebakeyA chocolate “heart healthy” biscotti.  Not sure how that is, but it was actually very small.  The other is an intense almond cookie.  It had to have been made with almond paste.  I need to get me some of that and try my hand at these.  Delicious!  This is the kind of thing that is worth spending calories on!

This area is always jampacked with festivals, and today was one at a garden center.  I just love the colors of fall!

festival

A couple of cute alpacas.

alpaca-1

I picked up a huge mum container for $2.99 – yay!  Plus 2 globe thistles for $2 each and a couple pie pumpkins.  Since canned pumpkin is scarce around here, going to try my hand at cooking my own.  Plus John will make a real pumpkin pie or custard with the other one.  Num, num.

John biked to Lake George while my mom and I were at the festival.  I was going to meet him there, but it gets dark early and my legs are a bit tired from yesterday, so I met him later on downtown by bike for dinner.  East End Eatery, which makes pizza wraps, so you can have pizza without all the crust.  Mine was on a whole wheat wrap and a fresh side salad.

Chilly ride home.  The evenings cool off so fast!  It’s supposed to drop down to 36 degrees tonight… brrrrr.   Going to have to dress warm to bike tomorrow!

Sitting down with a cup of tea and the snack of champions:

Have a great night!

Brick and TBL thoughts.

Don’t forget to check in with the challenge!  I woke up wondering what the heck happened to me and then said, “Oh yeah, NROLW and the matrix”.  Owie!!!  I was super hungry and munched on a snack while I decided what to do.

snack

I decided that I felt okay enough to try a brick for duathlon training.  It was a reverse from triathlon training, since the duathlon is run/bike/run.  So I did a 2 mile jog first.  My legs were complaining a bit at first, but after I warmed up they felt okay.  I was going slower for sure.  Then I jumped on my bike and did a 9 mile ride.  It definitely felt different than doing bike/run.  I have never gotten on the bike *after* running.  I am not exactly sure how much of what I felt was the result of lifting yesterday versus the new order.  It was definitely easier than going to running after biking, but I didn’t have a lot of push for hills.  In fact, I kept the gear much lower than I normally ride in because it felt better.

Sign of fall – the Virginia Creeper is starting to turn!

leaves

Came back to my patented oats and blueberry sauce.  Oats instead of oat bran today.

oats

I tried a new brand – Silver Palate, since I had a BOGO coupon.  I really like these – they have more oaty flavor, plus nice and chewy.  It’s a bit of a thicker cut of oatmeal.

Am I the only one that truly dislikes Biggest Loser?  I have barely watched even a snippet of it, but the whole thing just bugs the crap out of me.  I don’t like number competitions and the booting of people off who don’t lose the most.  That just isn’t constructive, you know?  These people lose incredible amounts of weight at each weigh in and seem so disappointed!  Not to mention having a trainer in your face berating you when exercise is supposed to be enjoyable and something you will want to continue with forever.  They sure don’t make it look like any fun.  Maybe this is why the majority of the contestants gain weight back after the show.   And does this really inspire everyday people to lose weight in a healthy manner?  I ask this seriously and I hope someone will comment that it has helped them.  I just think a lot of people imitate what they see on TBL and then quit because it is too intense and not enjoyable to keep up.

It’s called reality TV.  However, it is anything but reality.

I tried something fun for lunch – adding PB2 to plain yogurt.  It was really good!  Made the yogurt really thick, though – check it out! Spackle anyone?

yogurt

I added some cereal on top of this for crunch.  Will definitely be doing this again 😀

Had a latte and Special K bar for an afternoon snack.

I was really hungry.  I can’t quite get bars out of my life, even though I would like to.  What I need to do is make more of my own.  It’s not like I haven’t done that before LOL!  I’m just lazy…..

Omelets for dinner!  With feta cheese.  I so love feta cheese in egg dishes (or on pizza).  This was 1 egg with 2 servings of liquid egg white – makes good volume and protein for lower calories!

dinner

You can really tell fall is coming.  Once the sun starts to set, it gets pretty brisk.  We took the scooter out to Starbucks tonight – dang that was cold!  Had to warm up with a yummy latte (it was decaf 😀  )

Have a great night!  I am going to try my hand at a Wordless Wednesday tomorrow.  Should be fun!
