Happy St Patty's Day!

Made a special dinner for St Patty’s day. Did shepherd’s pie, but a healthy version, using ground turkey, very little oil. The mashed potatoes on top were made with chicken broth instead of milk and no butter. I did add one egg yolk to help the potatoes brown under the broiler. Very good – and came in at 300 calories for a good size portion.

Not expecting too much for weight loss this week. I have lost for the last few weeks in a row, and generally I have a stall after that happens. But, who knows?!

Ended up getting extra exercise today, I did Hard Core Fusion from the Firm, then went for a walk downtown. Extra 30 minutes of exercise, guess I could have had a free ice cream cone that they were giving away at Stewarts! (But I passed 🙂 )

My own food today, tomorrow will be a nutrisystem day. If I continue to lose, I might switch over to 3 days a week of NS instead of every other day next month.

It's the weekend!

Yay! The weekend! Although working from home, not sure that the weekend means quite the same thing. I do think it helps me stay on plan a little better than those who go to a brick and mortar, just because my routine is not so different than it would be during the week (other than not doing work LOL).

Yesterday I did extra exercise. I did the Hi Def Sculpt, which I really like – then did a 2 mile WATP for more cardio.
USDA guidelines say the you need 90 minutes of exercise to lose weight. That’s a good chunk of the day! I have been trying to get 45 minutes each day (up from 30).

Me in a cute outfit – which I can button from the bottom up!

New clothes!

I was down in Albany today having lunch with my sister. So I stopped at Goodwill on the way home. The pants I bought in January are getting loose on me already! Good thing they were only $4 a pair!
I hadn’t been to this particular Goodwill before. They do the stupidest thing. All the clothes are arranged by color instead of size!!
So all the jeans are just in rows, men’s and women’s together – for whatever reason. You need to go through each pair to see the size. Took forever. Same thing with shirts – again, done by color. Weird.
Anyhoo – I got 2 pairs of jeans, comfortably fitting into a 14!! Plus 2 tops (size medium) and a belt. All for $21 including tax. That makes me a happy camper!
Won’t go there too often, as it is a bit of a drive.

Weigh in day!

Lost 1.8 pounds this week. WooHoo!! That puts me just over 85 pounds down now! Still focused and still on track.

Here is what I ate today – it was a Nutrisystem day, except for the usual Wednesday bagel.

Maybe it is different this time

I was doing that musing last week about whether or not things were different losing weight. I have found absolutely no difficulty in getting back on the focused path after a little side trip on Sunday. No urges to eat other foods, or problems along those lines.

That’s kind of nice LOL!

Feelin' good

Great day today. Not struggling too much with food. I have the momentum still to stay pretty true to plan.

Today and tomorrow will be Nutrisystem days. Normally I do every other day, but my family will be in town on Saturday and I know we are getting together for dinner – and might be out for lunch. Saturday would have been an NS day, but I will swap Fri and Saturday. A little nervous about the food that day, but I think I will be okay.

Weigh in day!

Lost 1.2 pounds! Yay!!! Slow and steady wins the race. That’s 83.6 pounds total, for those keeping track.

Wednesday is a designated bagel day, we went to Dunkin Donuts and I wanted to see if they had their new multigrain bagel available. They did and I had one! They are really big, I have to say. 410 calories worth!! And that doesn’t count the cream cheese. Only 10 grams of fat and I think there is 9 grams of fiber?
Half a bagel would certainly be a fine serving, although asking me to just eat half a bagel is like asking someone to give up their car. Not gonna happen. That’s okay, though – calorie counting today and I am at 1350 out of 1500 so I can still have a small evening snack if I need it.

I really can’t wait until the weather clears up so that I can get my bike out. We had a lot of rain last night through today, and coupled with several feet of snow – there is nowhere for the water to go! Ugh. At least it wasn’t more snow, though!!

Is it different this time?

On one of the forums there is a thread about what makes this time different as far as weight loss goes. I never responded to that thread, I suppose I am a bit cynical about if it really is different for me. *I’m* different, but I am not doing anything differently. I wonder in 6 months if any of the posters will still be on track and in control. Isn’t that positive thinking???

Over the years, I kept saying “This time is different” or “I don’t ever want to see this weight again”. And would end up failing again. I haven’t said either of those things in the last year. Right now I am motivated, I want to keep this motivated feeling, but it always seems like the fat girl is waiting behind the next bush with her foot out to trip me up. I can see her there waiting, hoping I won’t notice.

Don’t get me wrong, I am feeling positive now – but there is always that little seed of doubt in my mind.

Weigh in day tomorrow!

The snow, the snow

You know, I do like snow – I really do. However…. this has just been too much. Thank you global warming.
We got another 8 inches Friday night. The snow blower conked out halfway through doing the driveway, so we had to finish that by hand. Then do the driveway at my flip house. There isn’t anywhere to put the snow!
Here is a picture of the driveway, the side piles are 3 – 4 feet high.

Well, it’s good exercise anyway. Even more so when you have to lift the snow higher to get it on top of those piles!

Pretty good day eating yesterday. It was my own food day, had a treat at Starbucks with my skim latte. They have mini vanilla bean scones. Just perfect for a 3 bite dessert. 130 calories, though – so you could easily eat several if you aren’t careful. Calories for the day came in under 1500.

Snow, snow, snow!

Well, it has been snowing all day, and will do so throughout the night. Been flexing my back muscles to get ready for shoveling! We have a snow blower, but my flip house is done by hand, don’t want to drag a snowblower in the car.

Today was my own foods day:

Breakfast:
My super pancakes with bisquick heart smart, oat fiber and protein powder topped with blueberries
1% milk

Lunch:
Zone Cinnamon roll bar (jeez I love these!)
1 ounce of roasted chicken breast
2 clementines

Snack
1% latte
1 tablespoon of dark chocolate chips (80 calories in those suckers!)

Dinner
1/3 ounce cashews
1 cup broccoli
2 slices of light wheat bread (70 calories)
3 ounces of chicken breast
1/4 cup of fat free chicken gravy
1/2 cup applesauce

Dessert:
NS almond biscotti. Not my own food, but I have extra desserts – and this one is broken into pieces, so going to eat it.

Weigh in day is tomorrow! Hope it is good!
