It's the weekend!

Yay! Another Friday is here!
We are going for a long bike ride tomorrow, probably to Lake George. So, I took it easy on my run today. Did 2.25 miles. I managed to shave some more time off, did 1 mile in 14:40. Yay me! Kind of had to grind it out today. I did not get enough sleep last night and I am tired.

Ate pescitarian today. Are clams considered fish??
Made the protein pancakes for breakfast today, only used a whole egg, since I was low on egg substitute. They came out a little fluffier. I am really liking these!

Hoping to get my tax stimulus check soon so that I can go to Goodwill and get some new clothes! I will spend about $50 on clothes, and then upload the rest to my IRA. I am running out of bottoms that fit! I have one pair of pants and one pair of shorts that I can wear now, everything else is getting baggy. It’s amazing how just a few pounds makes such a difference on me now than when I was 250.

Today’s stats:
Calorie goal: 1,400 • Consumed: 1,469 • Burned: 466
Net calories: 1,003
C/P/F ratio: 51/25/24 (woohoo!!)

Weigh in day!

Lost 0.4 pounds this week. Not much, but I lost such a big amount last week that I am surprised I lost at all. Not to mention this puts me in the 140s!!!!!!!

Been hitting some pretty big milestones lately.

Today I jogged 2.5 miles in 38 minutes. I think that shaves me down to a 15 minute mile.

Today I feel like eating. Don’t know why, but I have been really hungry all day. Just one of those days where I have to grind it out, like I wrote below!

Jogged 2.75 miles today

So, I am now gearing for the Silk & Satin 5K run at the end of July. I now know that I will be able to jog the whole thing, which was my ultimate goal. Now I am going to try to cut down my time. Not sure how much I can cut it down. I do about a 16 minute mile. Seems pretty slow on paper, but doesn’t feel slow while I am going around the track! I wear a heart rate monitor and keep my HR around 145 on average. That is a comfortable pace for me to go consistently at for the duration. I am hoping that a continued pace of that will eventually make the time go down as my body becomes more and more used to jogging. I still can’t believe I can go this far!

It seems like many people on different forums are really struggling now. They are all at different stages in their weight loss. Some are having trouble getting started, some have reached a significant milestone (say 50 pounds), and now can’t stay on track. It’s hard to give advice on that, although I have been there and back several times. Getting the mojo back takes dedication. Right now, I cannot imagine another alternative than to keep going. Those days where I want to say “F**k it, pass the pastries, please” are fewer now, but they still happen. When I am hanging on by a thread, I just try to get inspiration wherever I can find it. Whether that is reading other peoples’ blogs, or different forums, or success stories. Just convincing myself that I can make it through the next meal, and then do the next meal. Eventually, grinding it out gets me back to even playing field – as long as I keep at it.
Not sure what words of wisdom there are in this post (if any), but maybe it is just that there will be times when you have to roll around in the trenches to keep going. Tough it out, and it will get better – and remember that for the next time.

It's Friday!

Yay!! The weekend is here!! I so look forward to the long bike rides with DH, and we are going to the farmer’s market tomorrow. Love that.

Doing really well on plan. I am surprised because my new tenants are driving me nuts and they just moved in! Constantly calling with questions like “How big are the windows?”. Well, gee – why don’t you measure them???
Or, this one today “I need to hide the anniversary cake from my husband, can we store it in your fridge for the weekend?”. No, not a good idea. I don’t think they get it. I am their landlord, not their friend. It has to be a business relationship, and that is it. They are nice and all – but it just has to be that way. Don’t want to open up any doors that would lead to them trying to take advantage of me. Sigh…. only 2 years to go LOL! Not gonna make me eat, though!

Today I jogged 2.5 miles in 37 minutes. Getting pretty consistent at that. Also walked a mile later, and then a short bike ride. Plus did upper body bowflex. My legs are tired.

Today’s stats:
Calorie goal: 1,400 • Consumed: 1,435 • Burned: 498
Net calories: 937
C/P/F ratio: 49/26/25 (yay me!!)

Ah, the beginning of the week

Mondays are always fun, aren’t they? It is always the busiest day for me, so the rest of the week is usually cake.

I decided to run this morning (normally I like evening runs), since I was going to be tying up loose ends at my investment property before my new tenants move in at the end of the week. Well, I went to the high school track, and they had big equipment on the track, since the football field was being torn up. I did one loop around, and they started moving equipment around and I didn’t want to get hit! The one main road is torn up, so I went around some side streets and hit even more construction. It was really annoying, I have to say. I did about 2.3 miles today.
Then my lower body bowflex workout.

I also rode my bike to my investment property – 2 miles each way (maybe a shade more). That’s enough for today, I think!

Ate well.

Calorie goal: 1,400 • Consumed: 1,468 • Burned: 472
Net calories: 996

Interesting movie today.

Watched “Maxed Out” – a documentary about consumer debt. This was a really good movie, made me mad, and made me think. Good combo….. or a scary combo – not sure which LOL!

The construction crew was out in front of our house at 6:30am with big machinery. Guess who was up early because of that?? So – by 6:45, I was out the door and on my way to jog. May as well get the cardio out of the way early. Did 2.25 miles in about 37 minutes. I’m beginning to wonder if this track is larger than a normal track. It goes around a football field, but there is a fence around the field, and the track is around *that*. Unless I drive a car around it, probably won’t know for sure. I might be jogging more distance than I thought.
Need to get to a measured track to find out for sure. Might have to con my sister into a guest pass for the Y again 🙂

I’m still finding it hard to believe I am jogging in the miles now. Not just for 1 minute at a time. Pretty cool. Not sure I really enjoy it, though.

another 5K

Since it is so much cooler today, I decided to jog for longer. I did a whole 5K! Took me 49 minutes. I really would like to get the time down to 45 minutes by the end of July when I do an actual run, but this was only the 2nd time I have done the whole 5K.

I wore a fitted ‘wicking’ shirt and my bike shorts. Pretty figure revealing, and I was a bit self conscious going down the road to the track, but no one called me any names LOL! Need new bike shorts, though. They cling – but the longer I exercise, the further they creep down my thighs because they are a bit too big.

Here is a picture of me on the bike trail at Vermont. Day of the 20 mile bike ride!

Weigh in day!

Maintained this week. A little disappointed, but what can you do, right? Just keep on truckin’

Been eating very well as of late. No real struggles with food.

Today I jogged for 2 1/4 miles! Took about 35 minutes or so. The first 1/2 mile was a real struggle, because I am really tired today (not enough sleep). I wasn’t sure I was even going to make the 2 miles. Once I got to 1.5 miles – I was totally on autopilot and did the extra 1/4.

Today’s stats:
Calorie goal: 1,350 • Consumed: 1,413 • Burned: 483
Net calories: 930
C/P/F ratio: 53/27/23 Not too shabby!

Still jogging!

Started Week 7 of C25K. That was a 25 minute jog. I am getting used to it. I still think the first 1/4 mile is the hardest part. I did 1.5 miles in the 25 minutes.

I have been really hungry lately. Not craving hungry, but stomach growling hungry. I don’t know if I need to up my calories to 1500 on a regular basis or what. I might give that a try. The scale seems to want to be stalling now, so I don’t know what boosting the calories would do.

Today’s stats:

Calorie goal: 1,350 • Consumed: 1,324 • Burned: 338
Net calories: 986

Carb/Protein/Fat ratio: 50/23.5/26.5
