Thank you for all the comments on my parents’ kitchen! It was not a hard project. The hardest part was having to do it spaced out with a few hours here and a few hours there.
John and I were both up early this morning. I seem to have a 5:30 alarm in my head, no matter what time I go to bed. John also seems to have caught the insomnia bug, which I am sorry about. Insomnia sucks.
Getting up early does allow for making breakfasts that take longer. John made up some protein muffins for us:
These were banana/chocolate chip. Super hot, too. We both burned our mouths!
I feel like I am slowly getting my footing taking over the scent business. It’s been so many years since I’ve really been involved and stuff has changed. It’s good to inject some fresh ideas, though. I’ve also been really working at growing my soap business. I’m now working with a wholesale consultant group that has experience in my industry. That will be interesting. Go big or go home, right? I’ll have to think about future employees and all that.
I have a wholesale trade show next month so production is in higher gear now. I sliced into some lavender soap and thought the pattern was quite fun:
I love flipping the mirror images next to each other. This looks like eyes or something, don’t you think?
John and I have a running joke about pink flamingos. I really want one, but John basically says divorce if I get one LOL! So I saw these the other day and had to text him a picture.
These things were probably 4 feet tall. I want one 😀
Lastly, a picture of Ms Pixie. She was sitting so very patiently waiting for me to clear my lap so she could be there.
Or maybe that isn’t a look of patience… She is going to turn 10 next month, can you believe it?
Here’s hoping for a little warm up this weekend!
Well, that muffin looks delish, the soap is BEAUTIFUL!!!! So excited for you!
On flamingos – one word – Florida! 😉
I think Pixie is saying I am not patient – it is my turn! 🙂
Pixie could barely wait for me to set stuff aside LOL
Super yummy looking muffin!
The look Pixie has on her face cracks me up–totally like some of my dogs when they are waiting for the okay to jump into my lap.
Those are some of the best looking flamingos I’ve seen. Maybe John would like it better if you got a whole flock of them? 🙂
I texted John that picture of the flamingos and his response was “no”. I almost texted back “too late”, but I behaved 😀
It’s the head tilt that shows Pixie’s whole “MOM I’M WAITING” expression and makes me laugh so much. 🙂
I think a well-placed pink flamingo could add a nice pop to your yard! Plus the ones you saw look nice – are they metal? John needs to see how good one would look…just buy it when he’s out of town and place it in an area where he won’t see right away. Not that I’ve ever done anything like that, HA!
Those are metal. Maybe I can sneak one into the back yard 😀
UG!!! Insomnia really does suck!!!!!! OMG, Pixie’s face? So funny!!!!
LOL at the flamingos!
I’m glad you took the risk and started working with John and growing your soap business. Don’t know why since I don’t know you all that well, but somehow, it just seems to fit! Lavender was one of Bill’s favorite scents and one I never was particularly drawn to UNTIL he was gone and now, seems it’s all I want. I bought some lavender essential oil earlier today! Will have to order some of that soap sometime!
