Work and more squirrels.

It’s been busy around here this week. I got trained on a new account yesterday. The nice thing was, we actually went on site for the training down to Saratoga. I so rarely leave the house for my job. Like once a year tops. There are just 2 of us on the new account. It’s nice that they think of me when they need someone. Once in a while I feel appreciated there LOL!  All the new software got set up and we are ready to go tomorrow. That is like warp speed compared to how things usually go with my company, so hopefully that’s a good sign 😀  It will mean more work at the very least, which is great.

I am not sure what to do with the second job that I picked up. I only do that when my regular job is slow, which it has been. The secondary job has been picking up as well. It all comes at once, doesn’t it? We’ll just have to see what happens.

I’ve also got a soap order to make for one of my wholesale customers. She always gets in touch with me out of the blue, probably because I make time for her whenever she does.  She just seems to need it when I start to get busy with other things. Or maybe it just seems that way. So yeah, it got busy round these parts!

More squirrel shenanigans going on. I don’t know if this is the same squirrel, but probably. He was back in the window again today:

I wanted to see how close I could get, so I moved slow and pressed my lens right up against the glass. No zoom, I was this close:

Beady eyes. At this point he started sort of chirping and almost growling. It was funny and that got Pixie all kinds of excited. Then I banged on the glass to scare him away.  He’s kind of cute, but he’s not supposed to be eating this seed!

We finally got the wallpaper off the hallway and stairwell and got the walls all painted! Now just the window trim and baseboard need to get done. It takes a while doing it in dribs and drabs. Guess that is why people hire that stuff out 🙂

I am getting close to finishing the Jenny Lind trunk, too. I am so pleased with how it is looking! This is the fabric I am going to line it with:

I thought it was fun for what once was a traveling trunk.  All that is left is putting on the handles and doing the lining.

We need to catch up on a couple shows. We still have a Downton Abbey episode and the new X-files to watch! Are you watching either of these?

We name all our squirrels Humphrey, since they are always bogarting the BIRD feeders. They are athletic little buggers. The only popular thing I’ve watched is Making of a Murderer.

I KNOW squirrels make the funniest noises…. I watched the new Xfiles…. not that great so far…was hoping for a better return.. but after the two part opener they showed the preview for the next show and i looks more like what i was hoping for… I like it when they handle a new Xfile every show not when they go off on this alien or conspiracy tangent… Hugs! deb

I love the fabric for your trunk!!

And I love Downton Abbey…but I haven’t seen any of the new season yet. Hoping to catch up soon.

That fabric is so cool! And yes, perfect for the trunk.

I really like the squirrel cam. Almost makes me want to put a squirrel feeder on the other side of the house. They pretty much avoid the yard because of Noah.

Been watching Downton Abby. Not that impressed so far.

Years ago I gave in & bought a tray feeder for the squirrels. They use it instead of the bird feeders and I’ve grown to enjoy their presence. Such funny little goobers! I like how they fold their tail over their head in the rain or snow – helps for warmth too I’d imagine. I’ve found that they like Gala apples and Honeycrisp apples so I leave one out for them every now and then. I managed to get a photo of a squirrel carrying an apple quite high in a maple tree. It ate a bit and then tucked the apple into a notch on the tree where it stayed until it was eaten completely.

My cats are like Pixie – they enjoy the squirrel show.

I haven’t picked up any new series since Justified finished. (I don’t watch much TV.) Am re-watching Fringe this winter.

The fabric for the trunk is great! Good choice!

It is always like this: everything always comes at once. I know you will manage everything, you always do.

To my sadness Downton Abbey is already over here. It’s the only TV show that is on TV here before in the USA. I really liked the last season and was kind of sad it was over.
I wasn’t interested in the X-Files back in the days, so not watching it.

I saw a comment about Making a Murderer above: I have seen 3 episodes and I’m already kind of done with it. Not sure if I will finish it. I think it’s overhyped. There are 7 hours of it left, I’d rather spend that on something else. Picked up Suits again on Netflix last night.

While I’m not a fan of squirrels, I do have to admit I enjoy watching them this time of year – all the trees are bare and I can see them way up high in giant trees. They are amazing agile. Now, if I could just keep them from digging in my patio pots!

I love my squirrels – we have so many in our backyard – but I will admit that we gave up on having birdfeeders because of them. Great shot – obviously that squirrel knew that the window meant he was safe from the giant black “eye” coming at him!

You reminded me that I still have the latest episode of DA to watch. I guess it’s not as exciting as previous seasons if I don’t jump right in and watch it, eh? No X-Files for me, not then and not now.

I love the fabric choice and I am watching both Downton and X-Files. I think X-Files is pretty much what it used to be – but for some reason now it feels more corny? I’ll still watch it though. It’s fun to see Scully and Mulder back in action. 🙂

That’s so cute! I should probably put out a squirrel feeder thing. The cats sit at the back sliding doors and watch the squirrels and bunnies in our yard for hours!

I think we’re the only place in America that does not have squirrels. As my husband quips, “We keep putting out seeds for the squirrels, but those darn birds eat them all up!”

Enjoying Downton, but the first X-Files did not impress me. It just had this feeling of all been done before. I will probably keep watching for a few, though, to see if they can breathe some new life into it.

Ben is the biggest X-Files fan on the planet and although his expectations weren’t really high I think he’s enjoying anything more he can get. 🙂

That fabric is a terrific choice! It will be just perfect.

I was hunting through the Internet this weekend looking for places to order roses from. Even though I killed my last one somehow I think I want to try again this year. Flowers always make me think of you.
