First off, I want to wish John a very happy anniversary! 18 years ago we finally got hitched and I couldn’t have picked a better person to spend the last 18 years with 😀
Coincidence – this photo was in a bunch of pictures we brought over to the new house today.
Saturday was too nice of a day to spend it all doing rehab, so we decided on a ride to the lake! Colors are just starting to turn. Probably they will peak in the next week or two.
It was really a bright and sunny day.
It was worth taking the early part of the day off for riding!
Now that the tourist season is pretty much over, the lake is peaceful and quiet.
While the tourism is great for the economy, it is nice to have the lake back to locals – especially at the most beautiful time of year.
A few trees are turning now. The orangey colors are one of my favorites of the fall colors.
We stopped at the Lake George Baking Company for our treat and they had this sign posted:
Truth.
Pumpkin cupcake with maple frosting! So good! We sat in a couple Adirondack chairs and enjoyed a gorgeous day. There might have been a donut consumed, as well…
We did have to get some rehab work done, so we headed home. Nonstop, actually!
31 miles and it was soooo good to get out for a long ride. We have been working really hard for the last 6 weeks.
Rehab progress this weekend:
Sink in, but not hooked up yet. That will happen this week. We are also getting the fridge and stove delivered this week. It’s almost a functional kitchen!
You have a good eye for how all those kitchen materials will fit together. Can’t wait to see finished kitchen pics. Pretty leaves and great kitchen pics, love, love, love.
And… HAPPY ANNIVERSARY.
Thank you!
Happy anniversary! What an absolutely glorious day you had for your ride. Just spectacular. Am loving the kitchen. That splashback is so lovely and so classic it is going to age very well. So happy for you.
I love the marble. I probably should have gone with a blue paint shade in the kitchen since the marble has some blue tones in it, but paint can always change if we get tired of it. The marble I don’t think I will ever get tired of!
Happy Anniversary!
Love the sink and faucet, very nice!
Thanks!
Happy anniversary! Ooh, the colors on that tree are gorgeous!
A real kitchen sink!! I almost forgot what they look like!
Yes, it has been 6 weeks since this kitchen has had a sink! Can’t wait for it to actually be working LOL
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So sweet!!!!
Lori, I so miss Autumn! My favorite season when I lived back there!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
Hey, I am all for the cupcake sign although muffins are not healthy these days & big as houses! 😉
LOVE the sink!!!!
Yes, mondo muffins. This cupcake was smaller than usual ones, just enough to satisfy, but not be too much.
Happy Anniversary! How fun that you two got to go for such a beautiful bike ride to celebrate together. 🙂
Your kitchen is really coming along! Bet you cannot WAIT to get to actually use it!
I think I will be too paranoid to use it LOL!
Happy anniversary!!!
Happy Anniversary! Glad you guys got a break from all the hard work, and I do believe if there is no frosting on a cupcake it becomes a muffin! 😀
I am so impressed with how far you’ve come already on the new house – wish I was that handy, I would have ripped my kitchen apart 13 years ago!
We should just frost muffins and get it over with.
Happy Anniversary! Getting in every bit of the nice weather, good for you. Me too, because although I love fall, I hate what comes next. Clock changes don’t come until first weekend of Nov, so I am really hoping the weather holds out as long as possible for after work exercise. Glad you enjoyed your weekend!
I am not even thinking about the W word 😀
eighteen here in a couple of months, too.
GO US.
all four of us 🙂
Happy Anniversary! This part of September must be a good one to get married because you are one of 8 couples I know who have celebrated over the weekend.
Glad you took that me time and did the long ride. You need that to clear your head for the work left to do. Everything is looking so great!
Yes, fall is a great time to get married – especially if you love fall LOL
Happy Anniversary! What a beautiful are for bike riding with the fall colors all around. Looks like the house is coming along nicely!
The colors are going to get better, too. Can’t wait!
Happy Anniversary!!!
Oh – I love the fall colors!! So glad that y’all were able to get in a nice ride over the weekend.
Happy anniversary – we are just past 18 years, too.
Hooray for almost having a functional kitchen – the sink looks great.
Happy anniversary! Love the fall riding pics. Your kitchen is looking beautiful! Did you happen to notice that your cupcake wrapper looks like a candy corn…I have an eye for things like that 😉
I did notice that wrapper 😀
Happy anniversary!!
The marble tile is perfect with the butcher block–whether it has that warm color like the wood or it’s reflecting the countertop, it looks great!
I love the warm combination of these. It doesn’t seem quite new, which is exactly what I wanted.
Happy anniversary Lori and John. You are such a lovely couple.
Great that you were able to take a long ride this weekend and what a beautiful ride.
And the kitchen is really making progress. Can’t wait to see the final result.
Thanks Fran! I can’t wait for the kitchen to be finished, either 😀
Happy Anniversary! The rehab is coming along nicely. I love the sink and the back splash, and the counter top-awesome!!!
Thank you!
Belated Happy Anniversary John and Lori!!!!!
Thanks Roz!
Happy anniversary! I love seeing your renovation photos! Have you met any new neighbors? Are they curious about your changes?
We have met a few neighbors and they have been very nice. Quite happy to see something being done with the place, too. Hopefully we will all get along well 😉
