What’s Blooming!

It’s green, green, green around here!  I love it!

These are the lilacs on the neighbor’s bush. The house was vacant for all of last year, so I hacked down the bush because it was so overgrown.  It didn’t bloom much this year, but there were some.

One last tulip to show:

aleppo

This is an Aleppo fringed tulip.  The only one that came up.

The burning bush. Good thing I bought the dwarf variety, right?

Needs a haircut this weekend.

Nature is just so cool!

Lily of the valley!

Every year I marvel at the awesomeness of this little flower.

Back to the sunny side.

I am pretty excited about my bearded iris this year – I am going to have so many blooms! I have another color that will be coming up as well. I have had the other iris for 3 years, but it hadn’t bloomed and so I moved it last fall and now I have a bloom that is coming!

I did lose a rose bush, though. Surprisingly, it was the knockout rose that is behind these irises. I thought it might make it, but it did not. That was the one plant I thought was tougher than all the rest.  I have to replace it, but I will just get one of those cheap $12 knockouts at Lowe’s.  I don’t want to put in a really nice rose and then want to take it with when we move.

This weekend is working on the tippy pots and the other containers.  Have a good Memorial Weekend!

    Hey look! No snow!!

Gorgeous lilacs. My mom had this wonderful (and huge) lilac bush when I was a kid. Smelled wonderful. Too bad it rotted from the bottom and then eventually fell over and died. 🙁

What beautiful shots you get! That LOTV with the water droplets is spectacular! Were you laying on the ground to get such a good shot?!

Its so fun to see some of the same plants blooming almost 2 months later on the other side of the country! In my garden, I’m still waiting for some really good blooms right now.

I just crouched down to take those shots. I used my phone, too LOL! It takes pretty good pictures.

I love the upside down flowers!! And, that fringe tulip is so cool!!!
I’m fixing to redo the yard/landscaping at our venue – sad that I have no clue what I’m doing. I told the guy at the nursery (he owns it and is a friend of ours) that I wanted the easiest maintenance possible while still being pretty. (I think he laughed at me but said he would help.)

My sister wanted me to plan a flower bed for her, but she wanted it to be no maintenance LOL!

Looks lovely! I want a lilac in my garden, not only do they smell good, they attract butterflies too which I love.

    Have a great weekend!

So purdy! Nice close-up of the bleeding hearts. I have a small area with lily-of-the-valley and love them too. They remind me of my mom because she used to wear Muguet de Bois perfume. Just brought some inside today and everytime I go into the living room the scent is heady.

I used to pick LOTV and put them in colored water and the flowers would the pull up the color into the veins.
