You know it’s cold when you get excited to see temperatures crack double digits. So lame. The house makes so many noises when it is cold, too. I went out in the morning on Wednesday to start the car and it was below zero. I stepped on the back porch and it cracked so loud it was like a gunshot! Scared me, too LOL!
I had a very nice treat arrive by mail today! Julianne had sent me a picture of this mug back in October and I used it for my one of my breast cancer awareness pink pictures. Well, today the actual mug arrived on my doorstep! I had to put it to immediate use – after it thawed out from being outside.
Totally unexpected and really such a perfect mug for me. I mean, cupcakes and lattes – how much better does it get? Thank you Julianne!!!
She also threw in some samples of these Fit Protein Brownies.
I had one with said latte:
This was the peanut butter chocolate one. These were pretty good. Pretty much like a protein bar, really. Not overly sweet and chewier than a normal protein bar (at least compared to Luna/Balance). Not exactly like a brownie, but something nice for 13 grams of protein! Bonus no sugar alcohols and no sugar substitutes (not even stevia)!
Back to the cold… On the annoyance front, our Prius decided to not start today. Our new Prius, I might add. It could be just a dead battery, but the check engine light came on with it, so we don’t want to mess with it in case something is wrong and had roadside assistance take it to the dealer. That’s under warranty, thank goodness. We were supposed to go out to dinner, but that got nixed and now we are waiting for the tow truck to come take the car. The dryer last week, car this week. Let’s take guesses on what’s next!
Love your new mug – it is perfect for you!!
Sorry about the car – hopefully no matter what the issue is it’s still under warranty.
We’ve kind of been in the same thing – dishwasher, one of the apartment heaters….
The mug is sooo cute! I love it. Stay warm. I was in NYC last weekend before it turned super cold and I was still cold! I really don’t have the clothes appropriate for super cold weather anymore.
Hope the car gets fixed. Thank goodness it was under warranty!
Well they say things happen in ‘3’s .. So lets just figure on something else coming ……..
Fingers crossed for you that its just an easy peasy fix….. Stay warm! Hugs! deb
OH NO on the car! Hope it turns out to be nothing too bad & yes, at least under warranty!!!!
That cup is so cute!!! Love it!
I have seen those brownies all over social media but have not tried them.. 🙂
Yuck to the car issue but at least it’s under warranty, so there’s that…we had lots of dumb things go awry last year, which is why I have a new bathroom, carpet, and refrigerator. So fun…
Love that mug. Wonder where she found it?
I spotted the mug at Whole Foods in San Mateo, and it was just so Lori that I couldn’t resist. 🙂
Hope there was nothing seriously wrong with the car. Smart to just let it take to the garage instead of looking yourself, after all you still have warranty.
I really feel for you at these cold temperatures.
As you know we are having no winter at all this year. Everyday I look at a weather app to see what the walking weather will be like the next days and everyday the “news” on that app is about “waiting for winter”. Well let me tell you that I’m not waiting at all LOL I’m fine this way.
Hooray for car warranties! But so annoying, I know.
I’m tired of the cold too and it’s not going to subside for at least another week. Told Mr. Helen it seems to sap my energy. Even though it has been sunny all I want to do is stay in my pajamas in front of our fireplace!
Please do come back and update us on the car 😉
I’ve been reluctant to post our temperatures here. They are ridiculous. But of course, its led to a “drought.” And to me having to water plants in winter–ridiculous! I really can’t imagine how cold that must be, and especially for it to continue on.
Wow, I’d be so irritated about the new car malfunction. I wonder if its the cold?
I had my Fit brownie last night with a cup of tea–very enjoyable!
I hope the car issue is nothing serious! When my check engine light comes on, it’s always the gas cap not being tightened all the way. Something about condensation, blah, blah, blah. But my car always starts (*knocks wood*) when that happens.
Those brownie snacks look good and the protein count is a nice bonus! I’ll have to look for them around here.
I think its just the cold – my car also had the “check engine” light come on when I started the car, but as soon as it warmed up, it went away. I do need an oil change though – maybe that’s what it was telling me?!
Have a great weekend Lori!
It must be something in the air because my mother’s washing machine went then two weeks later, the dishwasher. Hope it’s not going to be that kind of a year.
Stay warm.
