Hey – another Friday! Yay! Even if I have to do some catch up work, it is still Friday.
I thought I would show you my orchid. The day I bought it:
Today:
I didn’t kill it, Pixie hasn’t eaten it and it’s actually growing! Initial success, I would say. Maybe in 6 months it will flower?
Speaking of Pixie, I did a trial run of her new bed. Meaning I just brought the drawer inside and put a towel in it to see what she would do with it. Didn’t want to make it into a bed for her until I saw she might be interested.
Turns out she quite likes it. I feel like such a bad kitty mom for not getting her a bed years ago. Now to paint this and get a better cushion.
More indoor blooms. This is my bromelia (??) Another Lowe’s clearance plant for $5.
Normally it does not sit on my garbage can, but I want a good background for it.
Off to the balloon fest this evening! I am sure I will have lots of pictures 😀
A perfectly Pixie-sized bed! I wonder if a child’s bed pillow would fit it?
Enjoy your balloon-fest! I missed ours (again) this year.
How fun that Pixie loves her new bed. I’ve been thinking that I need to make new beds for Monk and Sophie. Their’s are so lumpy I can’t believe they even get into them. I want to make them with removeable covers so I can wash them. Well, more info than you wanted to know about doggie beds : )
Good luck with the orchid. I’ll be really interested to see if you can make it bloom. I tried one time, but it gets too cold inside for the type that I had (so they said,) so I gave it to my sister in the bay area.
Have a good weekend!
ENJOY the balloon festival – how fun!!! Aw, Pixie is so cute! Can’t wait to see the finished bed.. AND that she was a good Pixie & did not eat your orchid! 🙂
I’m a little bummed that we missed the annual Huff ‘n Puff (balloon festival) here – I think it was last weekend.
Have fun!!!
Glad that Pixie seems excited about her new bed – I’m sure it will be super cute when you are done.
Our kitties love their beds, and glare at whichever one has snared the “best” ones. Our previous cats didn’t have beds either, and I actually felt guilty about that, too.
Their favorites are the oval or oblong all-fleece beds (got them for less than $10 at Walmart or Target).
and they’re crazy about the tall, round ones, like this one:

But she’ll love the homemade one, too!
I have never had any luck with orchid’s
A lovely new bed for Miss Pixie in time for her to snuggle down for the coming cold weather. I just love how your indoor plants are my outdoor, growing wild and crazy in the garden plants. I seriously pull my bromeliads out and toss them because they just go insane and take over the garden. Might have to blog some photos of them and send you a link. 🙂 Both the orchid and the brom look very healthy. Have a great week.
Pixie’s bed is cute! Bella has a basket in the living room, a bench in the bedroom and yet, most of the times she lies on the couch next to me. Spoiled dog 🙂
I have an orchid at home right now too but bought mine blooming. It will be interesting to see if your’s will bloom.
Orchid looks good!!!! And the other is a bromeliad. It should die after it blooms BUT produce a baby off to the side called a pup. Once that get going good enough you pull it off and plant it and start the whole pup to bloom to pup cycle again……! Hugs! deb
