What’s Blooming – garden envy edition!

I thought I would show you pictures from a garden tour I took today.  My garden club met for this month to view the garden of one of our members.  I had serious envy of both the house and gardens!

We had our meeting on the deck:

I know, right???

Then we were taken on a tour.  The owner did all her own garden design by trial and error. She did not know anything about gardening when she started.  OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is a jackmani clematis:

My garden is so tiny compared to this one!  I wish I had that much property 😀

I’ll end with a shot of my front bed.

I still love it 😀

Saturday is cupcake riding!  Woo Hoo!

Wow. I’d have garden envy, too…but I’d also want a gardener if I had that much to take care of! Maybe I mostly have pool envy, lol!

Yes, she does this all by herself. I would have to have help with working full time. No way I could upkeep that size property. Now if I won powerball, then my job could be my garden!

I agree with the pool envy. 🙂 I want just enough garden that i can comfortably take care of…Past experience has taught me to outline the flowerbed i want then cut it in half and that will be about right. LOL! Your flower bed is looking so nice Lori!! Have fun riding this weekend!! Hugs! deb

It is probably just as well I don’t have a huge property because it is a lot of work. That said, I do want a little more space 😀

I love that you are part of a garden club! How fun. Her property looks pretty but pools are a LOT of work. I love your garden and the flowers you chose.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

I’m envious too! Beautiful pool area. I recently started designing a bird house type post and planted a clematis in front of it, which I hope will climb and wrap around it…kind of like the pic you have here!

I’m envious of both your gardens! Mostly I just wish I had the desire to create and manage anything like that. I’m good for about a half hour a week before I’m ready to do something else. 🙂

I’m with the others – I have pool envy!! Her gardens are beautiful, though.
But, every time you show pictures from your garden I’m in awe – I think your’s are amazing!!!

I am envious of the view! 🙂 I love all the gardens – yours & that one & I would have to be rich enough to hire a person to do it & manage it for me! 🙂

    YOU ARE ENOUGH Lori! 🙂

How did I miss this? Anyway, how fun to see this. I think it is because of where I live (rural) I have several friends that have gardens (and pools) this size. And yes, it is a LOT of work. I love that green and white bed with the big hydrangea the best. Are those hostas with the white wands of flowers in front of the hydrangea? I didn’t know that hostas bloomed.

I like your garden, Lori. Its more personal.

All hostas flower (I think)), but a lot of people cut off the blooms because they just want hostas for foliage.

Your fellow garden club member must have been working on her place for years all the plants look very mature. It’s fun to see what other people do with their places. I am a Home and Garden channel addict. I agree the pool really looks inviting.
