Exciting post title, eh? Kind of a mishmash weekend. No biking. It was too cold and windy on Saturday and on Sunday I was out for most of the day.
I’ve been working on the tippy pots for my garden club demonstration in a couple weeks and trying out some different things. When I went to the garden center, there were some bunnies for sale.
He was so cute and now I want a bunny!
I am deciding between using plastic pots and clay pots. Plastic pots won’t need to come in come winter time, but they are not quite as sturdy. I also have to modify the plastic pots because they don’t have holes in the bottom. Drilling pots:
I’ll do a post on the whole project itself when I get it done.
On Sunday I was out with my mom and sis. Needed to give my sister a belated birthday gift and also to cheer her up. In the last 6 months, she has lost 3 of her 4 elderly dogs, including one last night. She really needed a girl’s day out to help lift her spirits.
We did some shopping and had lunch out. We went to Hattie’s and I decided on a grilled chicken salad instead of fried chicken.
And some hushpuppies!
Then we got back and I let the youngest niece give me a glitter tattoo:
That’s my inner forearm, if you can’t tell. This is supposed to last for up to a week, so we will have to see 😀
Here is to an uneventful week for all. I think we need that.
Nice tats!!!
I had a friend who had a bunny & a kitty and they were best friends. 🙂
Did you know that rabbits make the best “immediate” fertilizer? You can take their poops and put them directly on your plants! It almost makes me want to get rabbits again.
I’ve had some really wonderful salads lately. I never remember to take my camera with me to the restaurants.
I’m so sorry for your sister’s losses. That is really tough to lose that many dogs.
you KNOW I smiled at the tattoo and thought “PLEASE REPORT BACK. So many peel off in a day I need to know if these are better”
Losing 1 dog was so sad for me, imagine 3 in a short time. Great that you took your sister out to celebrate her birthday and cheer her up.
I feel bad for your sister – pets are so hard to lose. And so many in such a short time is really rough. 🙁
I think bunnies are cute, but their back legs scare me (haha, can you tell I was scratched by one once?). I’ll just admire them from the pet store cage, thank you.
Aww I know how hard it is to lose even one pet – I can’t imagine 3 in such a short period. I hope you were able to lift her spirits a bit! Your niece did a fabulous job on those tattoos!
HUGS to your sis!!!! S hard to lose family animals!!!!
I love your taboos!!! Si cute!!!
Love the “glitter ink”. That makes you a badass!! 🙂 Good wishes to your sister and her family, losing even one pet is a horrible thing to go through – I can’t imagine losing multiples in such quick succession. Awww. And AWWW to that bunny! Pixie wouldn’t be happy! Have a great Monday Lori.
My mom has been horribly sick with acute bronchitis and I’d give anything for some face-to-face sister time. She lives about three hours away (it could be a lot worse, I know), and we’ve had to coordinate helping daddy take care of mother via phone. SO when you said, “sister time,” I really empathized! Love the butterflies.
I’m so sorry for your sister! I hope your day of distraction helped, even if only for the duration!
Big hugs to your sister 🙁 That has to be so hard. I’m glad you two could have some sister time. I miss mine terribly (they each live 3000 miles away).
@Debby, I didn’t know rabbit poo was immediate fertilizer! I wish the same was true for deer poo. There’s a TON of that around here!
I have so many bunnies in my back yard, its as if I own them! Kudos for passing on the fried chicken! 😀
Flowers…bunnies…and glitter tatooes……ahhh thats the stuff life should be made of..:) Hugs for your sis…So difficult to lose our furry loved ones and to lose 3 in six months..how heart breaking…..What a great sis you are!
Hugs! deb
