It’s only Thursday, right? Wednesday was exhausting. It was a tiring day at work and all I could do at night was spend some time working in the garden.
Good gym workout today. I don’t think I see too much in the way of physical changes after 2.5 months on this program, but I am for sure much, much stronger. My posture is much better as well. Of course, if I was better on the food part, I would probably see more results. I have been kind of 70/30 instead of 90/10.
Breakfast upon return was the banana bread pudding topped with coconut butter. The nice thing about drinking a post workout shake is that I am not ready to gnaw my arm off and can wait while this cooks for breakfast.
Yum.
Work has been super busy of late. Not sure if it is because other people are taking an early holiday or what, but it has made it a little stressful because we are actually getting emails from the company about doing work. Normally we don’t hear too much and they just let us do our thing, but if the clients start yelling, then we get ‘urged’ along. I’ll take the work, though!
Lunch time! Needed to use up this chicken and we had dinner out planned, so lunch it is.
Check out my toes! When I got my hair cut the other day, my stylist gave me a sample bottle of nail polish. I didn’t want to do my fingers as I don’t care for the look of short nails and dark polish, plus I don’t have any polish remover. So, I did my toes! (You can see my sock imprint on the top of my feet-oops).
I did scare myself, though. This morning I got up and walked down the hallway. I looked at my feet and gasped because I had forgotten I did my toes and thought I hurt myself 😳
Quick afternoon snack.
I wouldn’t say this Larabar tasted like a blueberry muffin, but it had dried blueberries in it.
The rest of the day went pretty fast and we were glad to call it a day and head out for dinner. It’s been a hard week. John has been on a winning tear with poker, so I told him he needed to take me out for dinner. We had a coupon for 99 Restaurant, so that is where we headed to.
I love the free popcorn!
I had wanted one of the new lobster dishes. They had a lobster roll or a hot buttered lobster sandwich. However, I had looked up calories online prior to going and the calories were either 1400 or 1600! That’s almost a whole day of calories just for one entree. So, that was off the menu (har har).
Instead, I decided to be totally different and get the balsamic glazed salmon. I was a little skeered as I am newly venturing into fishy fish (I love seafood, though). My plate:
Looks delicious, no? It had grilled asparagus on the side with broccoli. Win-win! I *loved* the grilled asparagus. Must try that at home.
The salmon was very, very good. I really liked it. Not to mention the calories on this dish were 420.
We don’t like to eat at corporate restaurants that much, but I have to say that we are never disappointed at 99, which is why we come back. Prices are very good, service always good and we like the food.
After that, it was a stroll around the mall. Date night includes shopping at Target – how is that for romantic? It was really nice to get out and about, though. Yay!
Lori, I’d love it if you could talk about your post-lost weight eating philosophy. Are you low carb, or balanced or what exactly do you do? Do you count calories, or follow a certain plan etc? Avoid certain foods or everything in moderation? It looks like some of your meals are low carb. So I was just wondering. I am very interested in hearing how people who have lost, and kept off their weight look at their food choices afterward. Would you mind doing a food post? Or if you’ve done one previously, can you point me to the post?
Well, I do track my calories. I don’t eat low carb, but I do eat lower carb. I don’t eat too many wheat products now other than my bagels twice a week (and a cupcake here and there). I get my carbs from dairy, fruits and potatoes mostly.
I don’t know if I have a real eating philosophy that I stick to all the time, but I could write more about that as I know I have a lot more readers now.
Love your date night report. I find that grilled salmon is a go-to choice when we eat out. Most places can cook it well (not over or under done) and it’s reasonable in calories. Love that Target was part of date night. We’ve been married almost 39 years and do the same sort of thing! It works.
Yahoo for date night! The salmon looks really good and so does the asparagus. I just got two bunches at yoga last night…a lady who goes there is an organic farmer and she brings produce in to sell. Sweeeeeet!
Hope tomorrow flies by for you. Enjoy the weekend!
Your reaction to the painted toes was similar to mine the one time I had a manicure, lol! They do look nice, though. 🙂
Your toes look pretty. Entertainment comes so cheap when you’re in your 40’s – just a look at your toes and it’s like a horror movie!
Shoot, wish we’d found 99 Restaurant while in your area. We ended up eating out only twice, once with you and john and once at Panera (a stop that wasn’t planned on our long day trip to Albany, but we were so hungry when coming back through GF, we were afraid we’d eat everything in the house). Unless you count Bill’s trips to Martha’s as eating out!! LOL! BTW, grilled asparagus is one of my favorites – we do it all the time. Squirt i with juice from a fresh lemon just before serving and it’s a real winner. Had it last night as a matter of fact!
LOVE the frosted red toesies!!!! I always have to have my toes painted and my nails like 99% of the time. I have bright blue toenails at the moment.
I have issues with salmon but I do love Sockeye.
Looks like a very healthy and delicious meal out! Don’t ya love Target?!
Maybe Target should borrow your idea as a marketing ploy: Target is for lovers! It’s catchy! 🙂
That plate is very pretty. I can’t believe the calorie count on the other entrees. That’s more than my splurge meals!
Yep, pretty sure its hard to make a healthy lobster roll – its mostly mayo! Hooray for getting a healthy dish! 😀
What pretty feet you have! Love the polish. I was told not to use nail polish when running because it will encourage the loss of a toe nail. Hmmmm… do I believe it or not?…guess it might depend on how tight my sneaker is in the first place.
As for free popcorn, it ALWAYS tastes better than if you made it yourself. 🙂
Have a super Memorial Day weekend and safe biking. 🙂
I am so late to the game – sorry!!! You are too funny on your toes! I don’t show my feet so I don’t worry about that stuff! 🙂 I have wide, flat & bunion feet!!!
I always check out the calorie count on menus – they have to do it here – it is scary!!!! Always!
Yahoo for date night!
What a good day! Red toenail polish, popcorn for dinner, and that salmon looks delish!! Gotta try it with balsamic myself.
Lobster roll…. yummo! But you’re right they are very high in calories 🙁
Yeah for date night.
I love your choice for dinner. I really should try to eat seafood more often.
