Ahhhh…. nice relaxing weekend. The weather was quite nice as well. I was able to get outside and walk 5.5 miles outside over the 2 days!
Saturday was my football winning meal and one of my indulgent meals this week. We went to East End Eatery and I had a salad:
And a wheat pizza wrap with hot peppers.
I love getting the wrap because I eat the whole thing (no sharing!!) and don’t feel overly full like I do when we get split a calzone.
John said he didn’t mind going shopping at the consignment store after lunch, so I got to browse. Of course, he went to the book store next to the consignment store LOL! I found a pair of Dockers Curvy Fit pants, which were almost the same as the Fit and Flare I wore for the photo shoot – and they were $9.60! Plus this top, which was $8. A very nice ensemble for less than $20. I would say that is a complete score!
I have not mastered the art of taking my picture in the dressing room mirror.
I am changing out my wardrobe to try to be a little more stylish this year. Not that it matters that much as I work at home, but I do feel really good when I dress a bit nicer. So, there will be some bargain shopping this year. I should do a fashion Friday thing or something.
It was also football weekend! I love the Saints (just behind the Broncos) and I was so happy they won.
I also played on Pinterest. I avoided this site for a long time. Then I decided to join and got put on a wait list. Oh the irony… But then I got the invite.
I even found this cartoon on Pintrest LOL.
I did find this recipe for flourless chocolate chip cookies on there. I made them on Sunday.
These are unfreaking believable. 😯 Absolutely amazing and super duper chocolatey. I had 1 and both John and I are going to have to maintain control to not eat them all at once. I halved the recipe so we got 11 cookies. Thank goodness. I’ll post a tutorial on them later this week.
The Broncos? See this?
It knocked me over!
BTW – the #80 on my jersey is for Rod Smith – my favorite Bronco player, now retired, although my last name is on the back of this jersey (custom order).
My throat hurts from yelling at the TV on the first play of overtime!
A very good weekend indeed! Plus my eating was in good control. Of course, I still have to get through the rest of the night!
I’m sorry to ever have to disagree with you–but for football, I live in Packerland!
🙂 Marion
Well, I love the Saints in the NFC!
I was eating dinner with my family during the last part of the game, so wasn’t able to see it. Saw the score, and must have been quite the game!! I’m a pretty big Bronco’s fan too.
I showed your “feather” photo to Dad and it even made him lol! Me, too!
Oh yeah, I’ve had those cookies–they used to make them at my local bakery sans chocolate chips. So they were fat free too!! Holy moly, I never looked up the recipe–that’s a lot of sugar in one recipe!
That cartoon about Pinterest was funny. And also funny was that you had to get on a waiting list? I feel a little guilty that I don’t ‘play’ on it more.
Good job on the walking, and great job on the bargain hunting!
There is a lot of sugar in the recipe, but I am okay with it in small amounts (like 1 cookie).
LOL on the last picture – I take it the Broncos won?
You have been a pinning fool this weekend – I KNEW we’d get you!!! It IS fun. 🙂
That is a nice top – you could accessorize it with all kinds of colored necklaces or scarves…a good base piece. And yes, you should do a Fashion Friday! I always like to see what other bloggers are wearing.
Great weekend Lori! I love your new outfit.
And those cookies: they look freaking delicious!
My hubby did his share of screaming for the broncos today too 🙂
That cookie looks yummy!
try ginger tea for the sore throat?
those cookies make my mouth water :S
Im in mourning 🙂
oooh, I might try those cookies!
It looks like the ‘food’ section of pinterest is calming down now from the sugar fest of the holidays. I had a puddle of drool next to my keyboard for a few weeks there. 🙂
We had similar reactions to the game. I too was knocked over with a feather. The only difference…I then drowned in my tears.
Too funny on that last pic!!!! Cracked me up!
OK, those cookies look delish & I would be afraid to keep them in the house! As for Pinterest, I can’t even figure out how to get the pin button to work. Yes, read & watched the directions but stupid me can’t figure it out even though I have a page ready to go! DOH!
Man Lori – you find the best deals!!!
If you install the ‘pin it’ button in your browser, it is really easy to pin pages.
Hi Lori. OOOH….love that outfit. Great deals too!!!! Love the last photo! You are hilarious!!! I still haven’t jumped into the Pinterest pool. I’m scared…. 🙂 I could easily become a Pin-aholic. Have a great Monday.
Glad you got to do something outside- even if it is not biking! 🙂
I love shopping at Goodwill. Such AWESOME deals. It is so hard for me to shop in regular stores now. Even Target seems expensive now! HA HA.
Hiya!
Fist time visitor (linked from Lyn’s blog) I love your blog name and am interested in those flourless cookies. I’m with you on the dressing “up” bit too.
Vanessa Joy
Thanks for visiting, Vanessa!
Ha Lori – you crack me up! I heard on the radio this morning that Tebow’s favorite scripture is John 3:16 – he threw for 316 years with an average of 31.6!
I’ve been resisting Pinterest!
Keep resisting. It is a time suck!
I’ve had Pinterest account for months, but I haven’t done anything with it yet. Maybe I join you…or not.
John must be my kind of guy if he goes to a book store (except if he buys something sports related).
You look like you’re doing some Feldenkrais lesson in the last picture!
