Happy weekend! Yes!! Are we dancing yet?
I got up this morning for a little ride on the trainer before breakfast. One of the benefits of having that is no going outside in cold weather to go to the gym! Plus no commute – also a side benefit of working from home. 😀
Breakfast was a banana bread breakfast pudding.
Sometimes food tastes better than usual, doesn’t it? This was one of those breakfasts. Maybe because I haven’t had it in a while.
I put my head down and worked today. I really tried to keep focused and avoided my google reader until lunchtime to get work done. I had to get up and get a little snack about an hour before lunch:
It was lunch before I knew it!
This was an omelet with sauteed broccoli and some wonderful smoked cheddar from a local farm. I am loving this cheese. I found out they will be at the indoor winter market this year, too – so I can get more!
Moving right along to latte time today.
Dried pineapple is back! I had 2 pieces, actually. Just being accountable.
Lucky me to have this going on as I finished up work:
John was not as busy today, so he made up jambalaya for dinner! His business starts to wind down a bit for the next couple weeks, so he has a little more time.
I loves me a man who can cook!
Last Friday, I had a tough work day and worked into the evening. This week is totally different and I was done by 5 pm. It feels great to be done!
I had a couple pieces of pumpkin fudge today.
Still good stuff – and just about gone, too. I didn’t eat hardly any of it this week. I do have that ‘no weight gain’ goal this month.
Low key weekend on tap for us. We just need to finalize plans for Christmas Eve dinner, which we are hosting.
Question: Are you hosting or attending a Christmas dinner this year (or neither)?
I’m just along for the ride this year! My brother will be grilling steaks for us, per my request! He is a master griller.
Your food looks exceptionally tasty today. I guess its time for me to go make dinner LOL.
My food was really good today LOL!
Nice to have dinner made for you!
I’m, as usual, hosting, but it’s just our immediate family. And since I’ll be working the five days before Christmas, I’ll be leaving the grocery shopping (with a list, of course) to Jeff and the boys…and most of the food prep, too.
sigh. It must be so nice to have someone else cook for you. Besides the people at the grill down the street, I mean. 🙂
I love smoked cheddar, too! It’s so rich and satisfying!
Not hosting or attending.
Love your cheesy day! Cheddar, and smoked cheddar.
To top it off some jambalaya…nice!
I do not like a man who can cook and run The Boss out of the kitchen at all times. 😀
Love all your meals yesterday. The jambalaya looks delicious.
I’m having my mother and mother in law over for dinner at Christmas. Planned the menu last week, went to the butcher this morning to place my order and the rest of the grocery shopping I’m doing next Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Mmmmm, pumpkin fudge! Fudge is too dangerous around here…
Oh and LOVE dried pineapple. It’s a candy for me!
We have the kids and fiance/boyfriend over on the 23rd for our Christmas get-together. Looking forward to it!
Dawn
I just ate your banana bread breakfast pudding! Did I tell you I sent the recipe to our Zero Excuses trainer and he said it was just about as perfect a recovery after a hard workout breakfast as one could get! High praise there. I also gave a bite of it to Mr. Helen who promptly told me it needed butter and some honey or sugar lol!
I always host Christmas Day for anyone who wants to come. Sometimes I have 4 and sometimes I end up with 10 or 12. We get together with each side of the family on separate days so I never know until the last minute who will want to come, but it’s always fun.
This year we are having a particularly hectic Christmas bonanza of Christmas Eve with my side, Christmas Day at our house and the day after aka Boxing Day with Mr. Helen’s side. I have a feeling by December 27th I’ll be running for cover 😀
I wish I would have had your banana bread breakfast pudding right here! Your food looks great. Your comment on my post about delegating is right on.
I’ll be in Madison, WI and brother in law will be cooking. I’ll help with clean up:)
At first glance I thought your breakfast was a cookie till I read on! 😉 One track mind for me!!!
That fudge looks delish! 🙂
My dad was an amazing cook when men were not “supposed to be in the kitchen”. He was one of a kind!
Hi Lori! I always appreciate the nice things and pictures of your husband. I think you are a grateful person in general, which I always enjoy on your blogs.
🙂 Marion
Hi there! I just found your blog through another blog, and I really like it! That omelet made me drool almost … cheddar sounds delicious! For some reason it didn’t occur to me to use cheddar in mine, but I will definitely try it! Mmm!
As for Christmas, I’m going to my in-laws. Fingers crossed. 😉
Hooray for jambalaya! Looks delicious. We are having a low key Christmas, so far all my husband wants to eat is bananas, toast and rice 🙁 Maybe his appetite might pick up this week?
Thanks for your continued support Lori! 😀
Hi Lori, hope your weekend has gone well. YAY John for being chief cook on Friday, its lovely to have dinner made sometimes. (I’m the cook around here 98% of the time! However, to Dennis’ credit, he’s the clean up crew 98% of the time too) We’ll be heading to my parents for Christmas, my mom makes a MEAN turkey!! Have a wonderful rest of Sunday.
oh the jambalaya looks delicious! we have had two parties in the last two weeks….kind of fun but hard on the weight 🙂
