I thought I would give you a bit of last night at the Irish Fest.
We are biking down there again today on one of our long, more leisurely rides so I will recap that tomorrow.
Blurry pics tonight LOL!
There were a ton of food vendors:
How many times can you see the word “fried” in one picture?
Note the coats. It was pretty chilly last night. I think the temps were probably in the upper 50s by the end of the night.
I hardly ever drink beer anymore, but John and I decided to share a Guinness draft. When in Ireland Rome, right?
I know Guinness has a bit of an old-fashioned rep, but it is mighty tasty.
Look – I hadn’t even had 1 sip of beer yet, but this picture looks like it.
This is probably how a lot of people saw last night….
There was a lineup of bands, but we really wanted to see Gaelic Storm:
Most people know them as the group that played in the movie ‘Titanic.’ (To which I must confess that I have never seen the whole movie). We saw them in concert once before.
John enjoying some lovely beverage…
Another clip. Not the best sound, but it was better there LOL!
Ended up with 2 instrumentals and no vocals. Bagpiper = hottie. 😳
This is really a good deal to go to the fest because of the number of groups you can hear.
I did not eat any of the food there. None of it was really that appealing (and $$$). I had a bite of a zeppolli, but it was not very good. What I really wanted was a hot coffee!
Saturday is more music, dancers, and vendors to shop at. I’ll have another post up on Sunday. Maybe with a cupcake picture in there, too.
Question: Do you ever go to music festivals?
That looks like fun and the beer – yum! We don’t really have any music festivals here except for country, and really, we’ve done that to death with all the times we went to the San Antonio stock show and rodeo.
Ahh, fried foods…did the smell of the grease gross you out?

What fun! Who says you have to indulge in fried food to have fun? Love the music, the people AND the chilly, coat-requiring weather.

Mike went to the Irish Festival today. He had irish stew, and brats. I stayed home and did cardio…I know but I have goals 😉

I never thought I would read bagpiper and hottie in the same sentence. 😉

Sounds like fun Lori! Hope today was as much fun.
We never go to festivals but have been to a lot of concerts in the past. At the moment we’re not going so often as we have seen almost every band we ever wanted to see. If Bruce Springsteen decides to tour again we will definitely go and maybe we go to the farewell concert of the Rolling Stones which we saw once before.
Looks like lots of fun! Love the hottie bagpiper. Hotties always make the listening even sweeter.

Love Gaelic Storm! So cool!!
Did you try any “weird” Irish food?

Oooh, I know Gaelic Storm really well!! My aunt is a harpist and plays in a traditional Celtic band, so I’m actually quite familiar with that kind of music. Plus, being a Maritimer, I can’t help but love it 🙂
Did you know Guinness Draught has only slightly more calories than a light beer? Good choice 😉
