Yay – the weekend is here! Today went by really fast, too.
I actually slept in until 7:15 – which is pretty late for me. I moseyed on down to the gym, where I did my workout:
- Chin up: 2
- Barbell squats: 3 sets of 8 at 85 pounds
- Widegrip lat pull down: 3 sets of 8 at 70 pounds
- Pushups: 3 sets of 10
- Static lunge: 3 sets of 10 with 25 pound plate
- Prone Cuban snatch: 3 sets of 10 with 10 pound dumbbells.
- Incline reverse crunch: 3 sets of 10.
Then just zoned out walking on the treadmill for 1/2 hour. A little easier day today, since I ran yesterday.
Came home and had some oats with fresh pumpkin, protein powder and blackberry jam!
Then sat and relaxed and chatted with John. Sometimes I really have to make myself relax. I always feel like I have to go, go, go. Need to remember that down time is just as important as up time! It’s very difficult for me to just do nothing. Some of that is just my inner energy and some of it is spillover from working a production-based job.
I hung around the house the rest of the morning and made some more granola. I’ll post the recipe this weekend some time.
Lunch was a wrap made with laughing cow, pear slices, and chicken. Heated up in the X-box. With brussel sprouts for lunch!
I wanted a warm filling lunch, as I was headed out shopping and didn’t want to be tempted at the mall.
I was hoping that the stores wouldn’t be so crowded on a weekday, but it was pretty crowded! Eeeek! I could almost feel the flu germs around. 😯 I actually rocked on the shopping. I got all of my purchasing done – so no more stores for me for the rest of the year – put your hands together everybody!
I really, really wanted a hot pretzel. They smelled so good, but I declined. Instead, I took a break for some sustenance:
Caffeine and I are partners for life, forever and ever, amen.
Got home right around dinner time. I am almost embarrassed to show my photo of dinner – can you say rut? I know you readers have never seen so many salads on this blog than you have in the past few weeks!
That’s tea in the mug. It is cold and windy out and I needed something warm! It’s an almond cookie tea that I got at Sensibiliteas a couple weeks ago.
Ornament of the day:
This is another ornament I made this year. The first one, actually, I think. I used this pattern with a bit of editing (my globe is bigger than the one in the pattern). I have been having fun doing these. 🙂
Question: How is your holiday shopping coming along?
Stay tuned on Monday – I have a giveaway coming up!
Please come cook for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 So many wonderful ways you create things! I am boring & never learned to cook either!!!
I totally understand having to make yourself relax. I can do it now BUT after working crazy & long hours for years, it took me a long time to figure this out! Glad you relaxed!!!!!

Fly me out and I’ll come cook for you 😉
I don’t buy any gifts so I am done. I did do a Secret Santa exchange on Weight Watchers, but I had the gift made and mailed to me. All I had to do was package it up and send it off.
I have relaxation down. If I could trade of little of my relaxation for a little of your go-go-go I think we would both be all set.
How did you do the brussel sprouts you had for lunch?

Go you with getting all of your Christmas shopping done!!! I am almost done – need to get my kids their traditional Cinemark (movie) gift cards, but at least that doesn’t include a trip to the mall, yay!
I was going to ask the same question as Kimberley – do you use a mandolin for your brussel sprouts?
And hah, I am the opposite of you – I have no problem relaxing! In fact, I actually had to WORK all day at work today and got no blog reading done…I was kinda mad until I remembered that they actually don’t intend to pay me to mess around on the computer, lol!

Yes – I use a mandolin, or sometimes the food processor.
How funny! I finally watched the “prone Cuban snatch” video, and it looked like something doable! I don’t know why I’m intimidated by the names of weight lifting moves. I really need to get over that and learn some new ones.
Your food looks yummy!
Holiday shopping goes well. Almost done–just need to get a couple of items for the mister. (Not sure what my “let it snow” idea will be this year, though.) I keep feeling like there’s more I need to do, but we’ve been pacing ourselves pretty well. Got my nephew the Star Wars fan and sushi lover some light saber chop sticks.

I think men name these to make them sound full of testosterone so that can brag about them (sorry guys!)
I LOVE that ornament – you are so talented!
I’m doing okay on the Christmas shopping…we still have some left to do, but the majority is done at this point (thank goodness!)…just my mom, our daughter, and a little something left for Hubs.

“Caffeine and I are partners for life, forever and ever, amen.”
Amen! While I do have a caffeine limit, I will never, ever give it up. I love my two cups a day!
Feel free to send some of that energy this way! 😛

Love the caffeine quote.I totally agree. I HEART coffee forever and ever.Amen. 🙂
We don’t come for the food, we come for you. 🙂
Yumm–that wrap combo sounds absolutely delish! What do you use for your wraps?
I am loving the quote ‘Caffeine and I are partners for life, forever and ever, amen.’ Amen sister. Me too.
LOVE the ornament. I think my eyes hurt just thinking about doing all that work with seed beads. But I have a few beads I collected in a weak moment, and I might try that for next year…

I use Flatout wraps. Yum!
I have been the total anti shopper this year. I REFUSE to charge this year so I have had to stratically plan shopping around cough paydays cough.
Hubs and I actually had a real live baby free date and after dinner we walked the mall, yah, for fun.
It was fun actually, with no pressures to buy, just see what there was to see.
got some fun ideas though.
So ask me that question next weekend.
LOVE your beaded ornaments.VERY beautiful!

I´m like you I can´t hardly sit down and do nothing, always have to do something 😆 And when I sleep in I get up at 8 that’s late for me 🙂
About the emails: I’ve got emails from you which should have had reactions on it but they were all empty.

The ornament is beautiful! I am a fan of caffeine too. Yesterday I felt so tired after my hike and still had my shred workout to do. I had a cup of java, did my shred workout and had energy through the evening! Your weight workouts look really good!
