The kind folks at Mezzetta sent me a couple of products to try and let me know about their contest. One was a bottle of Napa Valley Bistro Pasta sauce:
These are now available in Hannaford supermarkets. All natural with no preservatives. The sauce is thick and chunky with a distinct wine flavor, plum tomatoes, and very garlicky! I actually like my pasta sauces not so chunky, but John really loved this sauce. He said it made him want to buy jar sauce again . He had it on pasta, but I am thinking putting some on a whole wheat crust with fresh mozzarella and basil for pizza might be pretty tasty!
Also received was a bottle of Roasted Red Peppers. Now *this* I loved!
These babies pack a wonderful flavor punch with really few calories. I made a sandwich wrap out of them:
I won’t quite say how I used them just yet.
Which brings me to the contest! Mezzetta is holding a Make That Sandwich contest. You can design a hot or cold sandwich using the Mezzetta products for a chance to win $25,000 and a trip to Napa Valley. Pretty cool! I sure could use a CA getaway (or any getaway 😀 ) Get creative!
First, I have to tell you that I saw Lake George on the Today show this morning!! I had it on before I left for work and got all excited when I saw Meredith and Anne there. No Elvis though 😛
I think your pizza bread sounds like a wonderful idea for the sauce! I’m not a huge pasta fan, so I only ever use sauces for veggies. Oh, and you should totally make hummus with those peppers!! 🙂
I know – it was so cool to see one of our hangouts on TV!
I love the peppers. And yum, hummus would be wonderful!
That sounds really good. I’m sure it will never come to my neck of the “in the middle of nowhere” woods. I use Classico Tomato Basil sauce when I don’t make my own.
The sauce and roasted peppers look great. Now I am off to try and create an awesome sandwich. 🙂
Waiting for you or Steve to make me a sandwich LOL. I need your motivation!
