Thanks to Pixie, I didn’t get much sleep last night. She decided she wanted to play in the hallway outside our bedroom. Did I mention that she has a collar with a bell on it? I got up several times and finally took her collar off. Then John woke me up a little later because she was still making noise batting something around. Had to close her in the guest bedroom! So, with about 5 hours of sleep, it was bound to be a snacky day.
I didn’t eat before my workout this morning, which turned out to be good because I only got in 1/2 hour on the bike. The pool had 3 people in every lane – so I nixed the swim. With school out, the Y has been really crowded this week with camps and such.
Came home and made protein pancakes with some flax meal in them. Really tasty!
Tried a different green smoothie for lunch today: Spinach, vanilla protein powder, almond butter, frozen banana, water:
I promise there will be a different lunch tomorrow!
So, after a couple hours, the snack attack began:
And…
Dinner was grilled pork with broccoli and strawberries. I have enough strawberries for tomorrow and that’s it! And we got 2 pounds on Sunday… oops.
I did a walk/jog combo after dinner since it was breezy and the possibility of rain, so I wanted to hang close to home, otherwise I would have ridden my bike tonight. Needed to work off at least one of those snacks.
Oh, and the most evil snack out there?
I think these need to be put out of reach. Long time readers know of my love of cashews, which is kicked up a notch with the honey roasting. Evil!!
So, I think I might be buying a triathlon 1 piece outfit. I am a little scared because they are sleeveless. I don’t show my upper arms a whole lot, even though I like my biceps, that is the worst loose skin area for me. Need to shop online tonight!
I’ve never tried Honey Roasted Cashews, nor do I think I will! Cashews all by their little selves are tempting enough.
I am thinking about the one piece Tri outfit as well….I tried on the TYR one this past weeked in DC and thought it was good (it was a “shortie” version). I do have one odd questionthough – do you wear water shoes during the swim, or are you barefoot!? I haven’t figured this one out!
Shoes depend on what the water area is like. I am getting water shoes to wear because the lakes around here can have squishy bottoms ick!
So, does spinach really taste good with vanilla protein powder? I’ve always wondered…
Sahar – you can’t taste the spinach at all, surprisingly. It just tastes like whatever add ins you have, so mine was like a banana nut butter smoothie.
No sleep = snack day for me too. It can be pretty frustrating actually. That’s exciting you’re going for a tri outfit!!! I’m just wearing my sports bra uder my bathing suit, then putting my bike shorts and shirt over the suit. I’ll just run like that too. Having the suit should at least shorten your transitions 🙂
I’m with you on the no sleep thing. Boy it stinks. Looks like you survived the day. Good luck with your shopping.
thanks for commenting on my blog!
that latte looks like perfection!
I had the same question about spinach. I think I’m going to go buy some this week and make a green smoothie. 🙂
I love your blog and your weight loss story. You are inspiring Lori!
Hey Lori! We go through fruit really quickly too. It’s Wednesday and I’m almost out already! Have a great day. Your pancake idea on my blog was great. I’ll have to try! Thanks!
Nuts and strawberries are both weaknesses of mine. In fact, I have to keep the nuts out of the house or I can eat my weight in them.
Hi Lori!
Send those cashews to me! I’ll eat them. :c) Glad to see your training is going so well!
