Do you ever get addicted to a food that you would not think could be addicting? I really think I am addicted to oats. Oatmeal, oat bran. I have it for breakfast every day (that I am not eating a bagel LOL). It’s in my protein pancakes, and then just straight up on other days. I love playing with toppings and additions, and I love how full I stay when eating it. There are times when I am tempted to have it for lunch as well!
I honestly never knew how great oatmeal was growing up. Either I thought it was boring, or I only wanted the instant package of Maple and Brown sugar (always the first ones gone from the variety pack)

Ive been getting into oatmeal myself lately and actually HAVE had it for breakfast and then again later with fruit as a snack. Very filling, and “comforty”. One food that I have become totally addicted to is ACORN SQUASH. I always buy a ton at the store, I can eat it every day and never get tired of it!
Lori, your oat creations look super yummy. I just discovered how much I love oatmeal in the last few months. I only ever buy the instant kind because I don’t know where to start with any other kind. I now refer to my six days without oats as “the dark period.” Some days, a big warm bowl of oats is the reason I get out of bed! Happiness in a bowl 🙂
I’m afraid of the relationship I’d have with oatmeal if I ever added my other favorite, peanut butter.
Yes, there is something special about old fashioned oatmeal made with milk, with chopped walnuts and cinnamon stirred in and topped with fresh berries. I could have it every morning, no kidding.

I really think you can at least get obsessed with almost any food. I think it is part of our nature as food lovers. There is also some term for people who like to eat the same thing over and over. I like oatmeal A LOT (in fact, I wanted it this morning, and had something else instead, and now you have put me over the edge LOL) but I think what I am obsessed with these days is cottage cheese, specifically Safeway cottage cheese. I make sure I never run out!
