Have I ever mentioned that breakfast is my favorite meal of the day? (Well… next to latte time). I get inspired with oatmeal by reading Kath Eats, and she has given me great ideas.
Today I had a wonderful, warm bowl of oats.
The mix:
1/2 cup oats, 1 small banana (mashed), 1/4 cup pumpkin, cinnamon – all cooked together. Makes the oats really creamy.
Topped with 2 tsp natural peanut butter and a dusting of unsweetened coconut. Yum!! About 300 calories for the bowl, which will last me all morning.
Don’t be afraid to play with your oats!!
What is your favorite meal of the day?
Definitely breakfast!!
I’m not really an oatmeal fan but if you put peanut butter and coconut in it I think I would like it. It sounds great. I never would think to put those ingredients in oatmeal. Yum!
I love getting ideas for reading Kath Eats. I bought a can of pumpkin yesterday and I am going to be play with my oats. I noticed when I eat my oatmeal I am satisfied until lunch time. I would have to say every meal is my favorite meal. LOL Have a great weekend.
That looks extemely filling. I like filling too. 🙂
Mine would have to be without the banana’s, But it looks real good!
That oat recipe looks fantastic. Will definitely have to try it. Maybe not with the pumpkin but hey, I’ll try it! Liked my pot roast this morning, tho! Vee at http://www.veegettinghealthy.blogspot.com
Breakfast is my favorite, and often biggest meal of the day! Quite a change from my old way of eating either a sweet roll, or nothing at all.
I like oatmeal, but not as much as most of my blogmies! I usually have something involving cottage cheese and fruit, and some kind of ‘muffin’ food, which isn’t really a muffin, like the blueberry oatmeal cups, which are kinda like baked oatmeal.
Breakfast, hands down. But that’s mostly because I wake up staaaarving every morning, so I feel the most satisfied after a big meal in the morning 🙂
I love breakfast too!! My very favorite thing is fried rice with a side of asparagus…kinda weird I know but I ate it a lot as a kid. I also love fresh fruit and toast. OK, and oatmeal, and buckwheat pancakes with blueberries, and….
No coconut for me.
My favorite meal? Whichever one I’m eating at the time.
Kath Eats is an awesome blog, isn’t it?
Best wishes to you.
Looks good and oats are very filling and they stay with you for a while. – less hunger!
My favorite meal? Definitely dessert. 🙂
If I could find canned pumpkin in Australia I’ll give it a try — sounds delicious!
I have oatmeal every morning, but it’s cold. The night before I take a cup of rolled oats, 1 cup of soy milk, a handful of raisins and some cinnamon and stir them together, then cover and put in the fridge. In the morning you have a lovely cold oatmeal breakfast and it’s yum!
