Weekend roundup

Glad you enjoyed the coconut butter post!  Good stuff if you are patient enough 😀

The Healthy Heart Weekend updates have been rolling in all weekend.  I’ll be compiling them up into one post after tomorrow when hopefully all participants have emailed me.  It’s very inspiring to read all these emails – so thank you so much for participating!

You know Sunday is the other bagel day, so we headed out for some relaxing.  I must say that I have been luxuriating in having 2 days off in a row now.  It feels so decadent!

My bagel yum:

We hit up the grocery store where I got a box of dark chocolate mint cups for one of the lucky participants in the Healthy Heart Weekend

Guess I need to stay out of them…

I made up a quick lunch of a lean sausage patty with laughing cow and some leftover brussels from last night’s dinner.

Surprisingly good to do the sausage and LC.

John and I went to a piano concert in the afternoon.  This is a new music venue in town.  This is the old court house and has been a couple of restaurants in the past.

I think they are opening another one downstairs and added the music to the upstairs.  The acoustics are quite good.

The piano is a Steck that has been refurbished.  Nice concert.  The only thing is that it kept us from lattes for longer than usual!  Plus the heat was not on until everyone got there and it was quite cold for most of the concert.

So we hurried home and made up the warming goodness.

😀  Happy John and Lori after this.

Since today was a higher carb day, I had some baked clam strips with dinner!  I haven’t had these in a while.

This has been snacked on during the day.  I just poured into a bowl for picture purposes:

Definitely my very favorite nut!

It’s just been a nice relaxing weekend.  I wish I could sleep in a little later, but I’ll take 2 days in a row hanging out with John any time!

Question: What was the best part of your weekend?

Breaking bread

Hi from the North Pole!   Oh wait, it isn’t the North Pole – it just feels that way.  Since we had more icy crap/snow precipitation yesterday morning, bagel day was postponed.  Seems like that keeps happening.  Anyway, I wasn’t sure if I was going to the gym to run today or stay at home and use the bike trainer.  I chose to stay home and pedal.  Then it was off to the much missed bagel at the Adirondack Cafe!

Wheat bagel.  Yummers.  Funny how I still get the occasional comment to me about how ‘bad’ bagels are and I shouldn’t eat them.  I don’t ever outlaw foods.  I may limit some foods, but I won’t say I will never eat something again.  Unless we are talking about shiratake noodles.

And speaking of not running haha – I am going to do a sign up for the virtual Valentine’s Weekend Healthy Heart run in a couple days (likely Sunday).  So mark your calenders for that to do whatever movement you want (run/walk/elliptical/swim).   There will be a couple prizes in there, too.  Just giving you all a head’s up.  Let’s see how many people we can get to sign up for it!

Lunch time today was a protein hit.  Tuna salad!

I love lemon pepper seasoning.  I used to buy the packets of lemon pepper tuna until I came to the astounding realization that I could actually sprinkle that seasoning myself onto less expensive tuna and get the same result.  And this red pear was pretty amazing today.

While I was working today, I had some bread rising.  I kind of forgot about it and it over proofed a bit – Holy Yeast Batman!!

This is 100% whole wheat from this recipe.  It started to fall a wee bit in the oven.  This is the first I have done this recipe, so will let you know how it turns out.  I used molasses for the sweetener.  (edited to add that it turned out pretty good!)

Did you hear that long drawn out Nooooooooooooooooooo?  That was John and I upon hearing that more snow is coming tonight.  I hope it doesn’t keep me from getting to the gym tomorrow as I am supposed to lift! Not gobs of snow, but enough to have to shovel again. Pixie doesn’t know how good she has it, I tell you.

She almost woke up for this picture.

Thinking of that snow made me want something warm, as in a latte:

Mini mint cup!  Should I put a box of these as a prize for the virtual run?

I am getting in work, which is good.  Not quite full time, but good enough for now.  I have the old resume out there, so we shall see what happens.  I worked up to dinner time, which was:

Standard! LOL.  I seriously need to bug John to make a lightbox for myself this weekend.  Even with editing, the lighting just doesn’t look so good at night.

Not pictured are the crackers and peanut butter I nibbled on.  Ooops.

I was not that impressed with this box of clementines.  I reached in yesterday to grab one and my finger went right through one that was moldy on the bottom.  Eeeeewwwwww!  Might hold off on a box for a bit after these are gone.

More work tonight and prepping for snow tomorrow.  Did I mention I’m sick of winter yet? 😉

Biking and bagels!

I was practically dancing around because it was warm enough to bike to bagels this morning!  Check out the happy lady 😀

It was mid to upper 40s, which was a pretty good temp for biking.  Not much wind in the early morning.  I was happy to settle in and have my coffee and sesame bagel!

I do believe that the bagel is one of my favorite foods… I know, shocker, right?

13 mile round trip for breakfast today.  Too bad the weather is turning colder again.  It was good while it lasted.  Might be chilly for the race this weekend 😯

Finished up job #1 for the week.  Yippee!  It was lunch time before I knew it.  I had some Bumblee Inspirations tuna for lunch.  Lemon pepper.  Normally I just make my own lemon pepper tuna, but…wait for it… I had a coupon LOL!

I had a closet find recently of some sandals.

I don’t think I have worn these since we moved here 4 years ago because they were in a bag in the closet.  Sweet.  These are Fakenstocks from Target, as I can’t afford the real thing.

This is a habit I picked up when I lived in Boulder – the socks and sandals thing.  I love doing this because it keeps my feet clean, my feet don’t get sweaty on the bottom, and I can wear sandals in cooler weather!  Some people say it is dorky, but I like it.

Afternoon snackage.

That is bread toasted with a little nutella and fluff.  I could eat both of those with a spoon in each hand…

Pubsgal sent me the pink pic of the day:

The Breast Cancer Site

Love it!

Leftovers for dinner.  Chicken rewind done buffalo style.

It never gets old.   I noticed while cooking that John is thawing out puff pastry.  This could be trouble tonight.

Having this because Ms. Snackington has come to visit:

Dinner and evening pictures are starting to get hard to take with fading light now!

Project Runway Finale tonight!

Question:  Socks with sandals?

Am I a role model?

Woke up to a rainy, rainy morning.  That meant no biking for bagels today.  I do have my limits.  😀  We drove to Panera where I had a blueberry bagel.

This is why I don’t like Panera coffee:

Every time this happens to me.  John and I will get coffee from the same urn and my cup will have grounds – his won’t.  What is up with that??

Anyway, my mom called on her way out of church and stopped in to Panera and we chatted for a while.  That was fun!  Then is was grocery shopping and time to work once again.

Stubby was back today.

He looks like a rabbit when he runs.

I did stop for lunch with leftovers of the chickpea masala thing I made on Friday tucked into a wrap and put in the GT express.  Quite tasty.

Mz. Fit wrote a post the other day about whether bloggers are role models.  I really thought a lot about that and why I blog.  I started this blog for myself a few years ago, and never really thought I would get any readers at all.  It has changed quite a bit over the years, from strictly a weight loss blog to more of a lifestyle blog.  One thing that I noticed is that there are a ton of weight loss blogs on the internets, but very few in the maintenance phase.

I think more people who are maintaining need to keep up their blogs so we can see what it is like on a daily basis for someone to keep the weight off.   Not as role models, but as a glimpse into reality.  I know that there are people who look at my blog and see ice cream or cupcakes and think it is not really a healthy living blog or that I might be setting a bad example (like dangling said cupcake in front of someone who is restricting themselves from that).  Honestly, I am just living my life making choices that make me happy and allow me to maintain my weight loss.  I know that I weigh more than I probably *could* weigh if I put my mind to it.  However, I seem to be able to maintain the weight I am at and enjoy eating foods.  I don’t know if I want to bother doing something that would likely cause me to be unhappy to lose more weight (or stay unhappy trying to keep it off).  I have a good relationship with food now and no fear of eating.  That is huge.

I don’t know as I consider myself a role model.  I am not really striving to be one, but I do like to show that you can maintain weight loss.  I don’t know if I would tell someone to do exactly as I do because who knows if they would be successful or not??  Should I not post about eating cupcakes and enjoying them because that is not what a “healthy blogger” does?  Or is it something that a healthy blogger does do?  I read some blogs and they will state “please don’t hate me” and then talk about something they ate like it is a sin or something.  I don’t believe one should apologize for how they live their lives.  Of course if you post it, the whole world has the opportunity to …. shall we say…. critique your style of living, but does owning a blog require you to be a role model or censor yourself for your readers?  And is it different if you have 100 readers versus 10,000 readers?

I look to a lot of other bloggers for inspiration, ideas, and thoughts.  Sometimes just for kinship to know that others go through the same things that I do.  Anyhoo, that is just something I have been chewing on… haha.

Snack time!  John made up lattes with some chocolate syrup on top that he made last night.

I loves a man who cooks….  Granola bar on the side.

Nice ingredient list.

I should just make the darn thing myself – I have all those ingredients.

When work slowed down this afternoon, I set to making some jam for an exchange.  I did a rhubarb ginger to start.

It was actually fun.  I’ve made jam before, but never actually canned it.  I hope it preserves okay 😯  Tastes pretty darn good, if I do say so myself.  (toast and jam picture not available…)

Dinner time included a ground pork burger.

I think I will just stick to this over ground beef.  It is very moist, and usually cheaper at the smokehouse as well.  Gotta love a bargain…

Since it rained out today and no biking, I am going to hit it old school with a DVD for exercise tonight!  It’s been months since I have done that.  Gotta dust of the Firm workouts 😀

Question:  Do you censor your blog (or twitter, facebook, etc) at all?

C’est la vie.

Thanks for all your kind words regarding the stolen bikes.  It was just so bizarre.  I was so incredibly happy and having such a wonderful time in the gardens and then we came out to the disbelief of the missing bikes.  Talk about crashing down to earth.  The bikes were not expensive, but my bike and I did a lot of things together.  I lost weight, did a triathlon, duathlon, rode 100 miles.   Not to mention that I have that 62 mile charity ride coming up in just about a month – so I have to replace the bike quickly.  This was not an expense we really can afford right now as we just dropped $6600 on new windows for the house that are coming soon.  We were thinking of upgrading the bikes next year, but guess it has to happen sooner, and not to the degree that we would have upgraded.  I don’t want to wish ill on anyone, but I hope the person that stole these gets herpes or something.

Anyway, the botanical garden itself was absolutely stunning.  Funny how I offered to treat John to the gardens, and we found out it was the one weekend a year where it was free.  I got off lucky on that! Other than losing my bike, of course….

Enjoy the Montreal version of my what’s blooming post:

Stevia plant:

Quinoa – interesting, don’t you think?

And flax.  Look at all these good healthy foods!

Echinacea milkshake – pretty cool:

Biggest hibiscus ever:

Stunning dahlias:

Flowering tobacco – Nicotiana sylvestris, which I hope to grow next year:

I took 150 pictures in the botanical gardens!  I might pull some more to show.  I was just in complete joy here.  I had asked John if it was possible to explode from happiness and his answer was “no” or I already would have. 😀

After we came out and saw the bikes gone, we kind of sat for a while and I had a little cry while we figured out our options.  We ended up using the Bixie rentals to work our way back to the B&B.  We were actually famished at this point, and stopped along the way to try a bagel:

I had a multigrain bagel:

Very different than a NY style bagel as it was more like baguette type bread rather than a chewy bagel like I am used to.  But it was tasty.

We then changed out of bike clothes and just walked around.  We did try to at least enjoy ourselves some, but we both just felt so deflated and I was ready to go home.  However, we had paid for 2 nights, so we decided against that.  Found a good place to eat dinner that wasn’t super crowded.  Indian, of course.  You can always count on finding a seat at an Indian restaurant.  I am looking pretty pathetic here:

I was happier when food came out.  Chana Masala

Must recreate at home.  Plus some of the fluffiest nan bread ever:

The food was really good, but the service was terrible.  John ordered a diet coke twice and never got it, and they never checked back on us.

Gelato makes it all better, though.

We are actually going to start looking at some bikes n Sunday when we get back to the US  (can’t wait for that).  Gotta cram in bike research quickly!

A day in the hectic life

5:15 am:  *blink*  Nope, not getting up.

6:45 am:  Okay Pixie, I’ll get up and give you your crack….  Then I need something of my own:

7:05 am:  Not a bad morning for biking.  I am so ready for a bagel!

7:35 am:  Breakfast time – yum! Too bad John missed out.

7:50:  Seriously – why must 2 people sitting across from each other talk so loud? I really do not want to hear this conversation.

8:30 am:  Stopping for a moment of zen here.  Need to keep this picture in mind for a busy, busy day.

8:55 am:  Hmmmm….. shower first or walk to post office to mail packages?  Better walk.  Only want to take 1 shower today.

9:15 am:  Can I work from the post office today?  It is so cool here.

9:25 am:  Multitasking of walking home and talking to my mom on the phone. Yay for productivity!

9:30 am:  Shower time!  The only pores on my body that aren’t sweating profusely are under my arms.  Thank you Secret Clinical Strength.

10:00 am:  Job #1 check.  Slow – good.  Can get caught up on business orders:

10:50 am:  Hungry?  Yes.  Need snack:

11:20 am:  Quick Tour check.   Guess Cavendish is back!  He was crying over his win.  I feel kind of bad about the schadenfreude I was feeling yesterday that he got beat.

11:55 am:  Hungry again.  Lunch time!  Thank goodness for precooked food.

12:30 pm:  More order packing.  Feeling overwhelmed…. When is John getting back??  I can do 2 jobs, but not 3.

1:00 pm:  Job #1 check in.  No work to do.  Quick brew some espresso to cool down for later!

1:05 pm:  Job #2 check in.  Work to do.  Typie, typie!

2:00 pm:  Job #2 finished for day.  Check job #1 – work to do!  Whew! I need this life:

3:00 pm:  Need iced latte – stat!

3:10 pm:  Yay! Coffee is nectar of the gods.

4:10 pm:  Stepped outside to check mail.  Hit with wall of humidity.  Funny how amazingly cool our downstairs feels after coming back inside when the thermostat reads 80s degrees (that’s with window AC running).

4:15 pm:  I am so glad this isn’t *my* doctor. 🙄

4:36 pm:  Seriously?  Hungry?  Must wait until dinner time.  It’s not that long.

5:15 pm:  Dinner time!  Yippee!  Need something light and refreshing:

5:45 pm:  I don’t wanna go back to work!  I think I will upload the pictures I have taken so far today instead.

6:00 pm:  Okay, really have to get back to work.

7:00 pm:  Worst dictator ever. Ugh.

7:15 pm:  Want some kind of snack. Forgot about the Skinny Cows in the freezer. Yay!

7:30 pm:  Do I have it in me to keep working?  When is John getting home??

7:45 pm:  Watering garden.  It needs it!  Lots of things blooming now.

8:10 pm:  Working a little more after that break.

8:26 pm:  Done working for the day.  That was a looooooong day.  And John just pulled into the driveway.  Time to post!  😀

Strength training move of the week.

Chilly night last night. There actually was a frost advisory out for last night. WTH??? Didn’t seem to get any, but it sure was chilly biking to the gym – mid 40s.

Exercise Set/rep/weight Muscle worked
Barbell squats 3 sets of 8 with 55# bar Lower body
Chin ups 1 set of 2, 4 sets of 1 Upper body
Dumbbell pull over 3 sets of 10 with 25# DB Back
Reverse crunch 3 sets of 15 Abs
Incline Dumbbell press 3 sets of 12 with 20# DBs (40# total) Chest
Reverse lunge with single dumbbell 3 sets of 10 (each leg) with 15# DB Legs
Lateral raise 3 sets of 10 with 10# DBs (20# total) Shoulders
Lying french press 3 sets of 12 with 10# DBs (30# total) Triceps

I was working hard on these today. The barbell squats and the reverse lunges always get my heart rate up there! A little more weight on the squats. Not back at the 115# pre injury, but I’ll get there.

Lifting move of the week:  Reverse lunge with single dumbbell.  This move is good in many ways.  First, it’s good for the legs because lunges just are.  Using the single dumbbell also helps you work on balance – and who couldn’t use a little more balance in their life?

Do this for both legs.  I just filmed one side.  This is an older video, btw.  This was one of the NROLW moves that I like to have in my rotation.  Now that I can do split leg moves again, that’s what I did today!  John met me at the gym and we biked to bagels.  I actually started to bonk on the way there and had to eat a ginger chew.  I think it was not taking a rest day after the ride, plus a harder strength workout today.  I did have a protein drink before leaving the house, but obviously not enough.

I looked for the biggest bagel I could see, and it was a sunflower seed bagel.  Delicious!  I really had to keep from inhaling it 😀

After carb loading up, we headed home.  Total bike mileage was 14.3 miles.

Work went much more smoothly today.  So smooth that I was extra productive and did more lines in less time, so I did more than required.  I’ll take the extra money!  My new netbook is so awesome 😀

Lunch break was some greek yogurt mixed with plain whey protein, granola, strawberries and a little buckwheat honey.

This honey is awesome.  We bought it at the farmer’s market.  Need to get more.

That partial bonk this morning left me with one of those hungry things in my stomach all day.  Dislike that feeling.  I had some chocolate with my latte.

This is good stuff!

Pre dinner was some cashews while I roasted coffee for tomorrow (all done with work by this time).

Nibble, nibble…..

It was raining, but the birdies were keeping me company while I did the coffee:

(my liatris will be blooming soon – yay!)

I had that craving for BBQ from yesterday, so I had some BBQ shrimp.    1/2 of a microwaved sweet potato topped with laughing cow and sauteed broccoli.

I cracked open the Chef Hymie hot BBQ sauce for this.  Boy howdy that has a kick to it!  It actually made my nose run.  Loves the hot stuff….

I have been noticing a soreness in my left thigh lately, and I think I now understand what it is.  Before with the weakness, I was moving my leg, but not really using it.  Make sense?  Now I can actually use my leg and the muscles are sore from being worked again.  Yay!  My knee is still numb, but the feeling has come back in my calf.

Tomorrow will be a rest day for me, I think.  I also will talk a little bit about Nutrisystem, as I had done this for a while a couple years ago and was asked about it.

We are off to Starbucks for some coffee and for me to play more with my little netbook.

Question:  Do you consider the sweet potato a veggie or just a carb?

Post picnic and pizza.

Hi all!  I basically skipped a breakdown post for Saturday.  I had the blueberry sauce post scheduled (or so I thought) and when I got home last night, it hadn’t.  So I just uploaded that and decided to take a blog break.   I was pretty fatigued after our Memorial weekend picnic.  It’s amazing how a houseful of  people can make you so tired, even when it isn’t even your house!  I ate way too much yesterday.  Didn’t win this throwdown:

I also ran yesterday morning for a longer period of time.  I went out for 2.5 miles.  I was doing pretty well until the last 1/4 mile, then I just had no strength in my left leg at all and I started having a galloping run.  No pain during running, which was good.  I stopped then because I didn’t want to put undue stress on my right leg (and make it any bigger than my left than it already is!).  There is hope for a race in 2 weeks, I think.  I will be 2 weeks stronger in the left leg.

Anyway, on to today.  It’s bagel day!  We biked to Panera Bread (and we were up way early, too).  It was a gorgeous morning.  Blueberry bagel:

Nice relaxing morning since we had extra time and were early.  Unlike most people, I have to work today and on Memorial Day, but that’s okay.  We found a wallet on the side of the road on the way home, too.  It had all these credit cards, driver license, and business cards in it, although it was kind of exploded on the side of the road.  I called the number in the wallet, apparently it is a police officer, and am waiting to hear back.  Person lives in NYC, not sure what the wallet was doing 6 hours north!

It actually was really busy with leftover work. I think a lot of doctors uploaded dictations before leaving for the holiday weekend.

Lunch break and I was feeling undecided.  We had an ultra ripe banana, so I just decided to make cream of wheat with that.

Still having a little trouble snacking today.  Blueberries, chocolate chips, crackers.  Not sure what is wrong with me the last couple days.  I certainly have not moved forward in my goal to lose 3 pounds this month.  I really struggle with what goal is because I have never really been at goal.  My smallest adult weight was actually about 15 pounds heavier than my current weight when I was in my mid 20s.  I was told my goal weight then should be 105 pounds.  (Can you believe that??).  Of course, I never made it there and just went back up.  I have bounced around in a 10 pound range for the last couple years, and maybe this is just where I am supposed to be, even if I feel like I should be lower, and certainly look like I could be lower.  I am glad that I have maintained it so far, but I don’t know why I can’t officially call it.

Anyhoo, John made pizza for dinner.  I piled my pan roasted broccoli on top of it 😀

This was so good.  I am a lucky, lucky girl.

Making more soap tonight and a trip for a malt 🙄

Somebody needs to kick my butt for me.

Return of the biker babe

Sunday heralds the new work week for me, and the requisite bagel!

Today was blueberry.

Then it was time for the other pre work Sunday ritual:

Freshly stocked with produce and dairy!

Work was a little slow today, so I got down to making some soap.  I still have a business that I periodically make soap for, and she contacted me this week.  It’s near cherry blossom time, so I have been making a bunch of cherry soap for her (which I can’t stand, oddly enough).

John had run some errands and brought me a little marshmallow egg with caramel.  Gotta love sale Easter candy LOL.

Then it was lunchtime and I had some carrots:

Plus a green smoothie made with pumpkin, brown rice protein powder, Barlean’s Omega 3 and cinnamon.

Didn’t like this combo very much, I have to say.  At least it was nutritious.

After a little more work, it got slow again 🙄 , so I decided to give the bike a try! I nabbed a date and some nut butter and headed out to test the asphalt.

Look at this happy biker:

I missed it so much in the last 2.5 weeks!! The ride went well.  Not really much pain, but I have real weakness in my left leg.  I cannot go fast.  My brain is telling my leg to push harder and it just won’t go.  It’s like when you run in your dreams and you run really slow, even though you are trying to run fast (does anyone else dream like that?) Hills were a little funny that way because I just kept getting slower and slower as I went up.   There were only a couple small hills, which was the plan.  I actually went to see my folks (unannounced).  My dad wasn’t there, but I was able to visit with my mom.  Then I biked home.  6.5 miles – so  good start to get back on the bike!  Overall very pleased with my injury progress.  Biker babe is back in action!!

Had to make a snack when I got back!

Got a call that the closing on the house is scheduled for Tuesday.  I can’t believe it’s actually happening!  Now I need to decide whether to try to flip another house, start a business, or keep doing what I am doing.  Too many choices.

Dinner time was a constructed BBQ chicken salad since we got new lettuce to replace the produce soup I had to toss on Friday. 😀

I’ll be working late tonight to finish up if there is work to be had, plus more soapmaking, foam rolling, and stretching.  And I need to ponder an evening snack……

Lifting and destressing.

Maple Syrup Giveaway!!

Seems like about half of you like tofu and half don’t!  It seems either all or nothing as well.  One of those polarizing foods.

Killer work out today.  No biking, because it was still rainy and breezy when I got up 🙁   Tomorrow, though!  I had a protein snack before leaving the house.

After a treadmill warm up, I did the following:

  • Chin ups:  3 sets of 2
  • Barbell squats:  Warm up of 10 at 45#,  set of 10 at 75#, set of 8 at 95#, set of 6 at 105#, set of 4 at 115#!

Superset:

  • Incline barbell chest press:  3 sets of 8 at 55#
  • Reverse lunge/forward reach:  3 sets of 10 with 8# DBs

Superset:

  • Walking lunges:  3 sets of 8 (each leg) with 15# DBs
  • Push ups:  3 sets of 10

Superset:

  • Front raise:  3 sets of 10 with 8# DBs
  • Triceps kickback:  3 sets of 10 with 15# DBs

Superset:

  • Reverse crunches:  3 sets of 15
  • Lower back extension (machine): 3 sets of 10 at 100#

Then I got on the treadmill again, thinking I would do some HIIT or a little jogging, but I was completely wiped from that workout.   It took about 45 minutes to get through that routine.  I felt really weak, too.   Lifting can do that to you! After 10 minutes, I got off and picked up John for bagels.

I did not try this coffee, but I found the name intriguing.

It’s probably 1/2 caff, which is never on my morning agenda.

I was so hungry that I snarfed my bagel before a picture:

After I ate this, my stomach felt like nothing had even gone in, not even the large coffee!  One of those bottomless pit days, I guess.

Got to work right away with another web conference.  They have been conferencing us out this week!

Kashi cereal sample arrived in the mail (I heart Kashi):

I incorporated it into lunch with greek yogurt, vanilla protein powder and strawberries.

I used half of this sample.  I really, really liked this cereal – which is a problem for me, as I am sure you all know how I have a cereal snack problem.  I don’t know if I would dare have a whole box of this in the house.  The little sample came with a $1 coupon, too! 😯

The sun has been trying to peek out a little today, with little showers.  It’s definitely spring!  I was looking at my garden bed today and more and more things are showing their heads.  Yay!

Snack time!

Plus the last of the 100 calorie organic cookies:

These were also good.

Finished up work early today.  I have scaled back my schedule a little bit.  I was trying to hit a certain $ amount each day with lines and because we get paid more for certain lines than others (speech recognition versus straight transcription), I would never know when I would finish for the day, which was getting annoying.  Plus, you just burn out after too many lines.  I was giving myself some undue stress about it.  With selling the rental house, it is not so imperative to have every line count.  So, I have just been hitting the company minimum and it has made me much, much happier.

Dinner time!  I was still feeling like a bottomless pit, so I sauteed up 2 cups of broccoli to make a stir fry with.  Gotta bulk it up!

Yum!!!  I hope I never get tired of broccoli.

Relaxing evening on tap tonight.  We have an MST3K movie from Netflix to watch.  I just love that show – it cracks me up.  Which really cements my geekdom, I’ll tell you.  😳   This is one of the reasons I will have to keep John around forever.  All of our shorthand jokes based on this show and The Simpsons would be too hard to train  a new husband in.

Question:  Is your job stressful, and if so, how do you relieve that?
