Bring on April!

A new month begins. I was wearing serious cranky pants the last couple of days, but now we have a fresh start. Let’s hope that spring actually decides to show up this month.  Glens Falls had a March that was in the top 10 of cold Marches on record. I think it came in 6th, if I remember. 🙄 On a good note, the main is unfrozen at the old house and it has water again as of today,  hooray!  No more worries about that.

I have been trying to make it feel more springy.  My new stress busting coloring book is really fun, I have to say.  It’s called Enchanted Forest, so coloring that lets me pretend I am working the garden bed.  Right?

I also just got some colored pencils to go with the gel pens for more variety.

The artist who did this book is incredibly talented.

I also got some 16 x 20 enlargements done on Snap Fish to fill a couple large frames we had.  These were shots I took when we went to Portsmouth last year.

The floral one will go in my pink music room, but I may keep the house picture in the dining room because it actually matches well. It was supposed to go up in that room as well. There is nothing on any of the walls upstairs in any room. Dewallpapering and painting is almost easier compared to trying to do art work. 😀

How about a peek at the almost finished bathroom?  Here is the before:

Here is the after:

There is countertop paint on the counters. I stripped off the finish on the on the doors with its fake glazing attempt and just left it natural with some satin poly.  Then I spray painted the hardware gold.  We have a lot of mixed finishes in here , but at least these kind of match the faucet now.

All that is left is touch up stuff, finishing the ceiling vent, and decorating.

More veggie front today.  Asparagus were on sale, so I got some.  Roasted in the oven:

I have to say, not a huge fan of the asparagus, but I am eating my veggies 😀

Asparagus is one of the things that I never eat (along with green peas)!!
    Love your coloring!!!
A lot of our art work is from puzzles that I glued together and had framed:)

I am not an asparagus fan either. I wish I was but not to be…

The coloring book as so pretty! ALmost reminds me of these huge color by # pics I did as a kid.

Home do talented as usual! 🙂

I love coloring! So relaxing. I confess, though, that I’ve never colored with snazzy gel pens before. 🙂

I’m not an asparagus fan, except for once when a friend baked it with a thin layer of dough spiraled around it and then sprinkled grated parmesan cheese over it. I might try that this spring if I have any leftover bread dough in my experimental baking. LOL

LOVE That coloring book Lori!! Maybe you should frame some of those!! Your doing a wonderful coloring job 🙂 Love asparagus.. My grandfather had a huge garden in Florida and when he passed away the garden was let go and covered over with grass… problem was before you could mow the grass you had to go out and pick the asparagus spears that would poke up years after he passed.. 🙂 Hugs! deb

Looks like I’m the lone asparagus fan. That one picture looks very familiar:) I like the idea of those coloring books, but I know I won’t actually do them. I always revert to some kind of fiber work.

Don’t hate – appreciate the asparagus. That is my very favorite vegetable. 😀

The whole month of March felt like the April Fool’s joke – bring on April indeed!

Your coloring is beautiful. It’s so nice you have found something to help you destress.

I keep saying I’m going to print some of our photos of St. Martin and the Grand Canyon and use them to decorate but I still haven’t done that. Why I procrastinate so much on decorating the walls I do not know.

I love your blown-up pictures. They really look great. I also think the lightened-up bathroom looks tons better especially with that green countertop re-painted.

We’re in the 60’s today but back down to 40’s tomorrow – which makes me hope the warm air is being pushed towards NY for you to enjoy!

Your book and pictures look amazing – so much nicer than a child’s colouring book (which my kids got me because I like to colour).

I can’t wait for asparagus season but I know there are some who don’t care for it.

Some veggies are better mixed together. Make it colorful by adding some red, orange, and yellow pepper strips. Drizzle olive oil and sea salt then roast- yummy.
I have a hard time with variety and sometimes we just need to do it! But , don’t ask me to try peas cooked any way, unless they are still in their hull. Lol

I LOVE ASPARAGUS! Oops, sorry, didn’t mean to shout, you just shocked it out of me. The coloring looks fun, but I don’t think I’d really do it.

Never tried roasted asparagus but it sounds delicious. My favorite veggie is Brussels sprouts which haven’t been on sale in a while 🙂

I love the his/hers bathroom! It looks amazing.

Yum, I need to buy asparagus soon! Do they sell the white ones too in the US? The green ones you can buy here all year round but the white ones are seasonal in May and June.

I love your coloring book and how you color it. I almost think about buying one myself but as said I do these Japanese puzzles and have a subscription to it and still about 20 magazines to do LOL am a little bit behind.

Here’s to a beautiful Spring month for you!
