What’s Blooming!

Yay – a blooming post!!  I haven’t been out in the garden as much this week with all the new house stuff.  I need to do a what’s blooming post at the new place, but I have to admit that I have not really  explored a whole lot in the back yard in depth.  There isn’t much in bloom there, but there are some keeper plants.  However, this is my current flower bed:

The sedum are starting to color up a little more.

I have had a large swallowtail visiting the butterfly bush this week.

That’s  the neighborhood waste management flower in bloom in the background, too 😀

The birds at my feeder throw seed everywhere.  They are messy buggers.  A surprise sunflower popped up by the butterfly bush several feet away.

Surprise flowers are fun!  I also have more blooms on the delphiniums this week:

I know someone who is going to have a lot of these in her new gardens 😀

My rose bushes are going through a small flush of blooms now:

You can tell the end of summer is approaching because now my lirope are blooming:

As busy as I am right now, I still take the time to smell the roses! My stress relief.

I love that lirope. Does it come in other colors? I might have a lavender colored one. Love your sunflower. Both of the delphinium that I bought look like they have died–I’m hoping they will come back next year.

I just LOVE the color of that delphinium. And that rose is just stunning! I have never done any flower gardening, but between your beautiful “What’s Blooming” posts and Debby’s landscaping updates, I have become convinced that I’ve been missing out on something wonderful. Good luck with your rehab projects!

The rose is Scentimental and one of my favorites! Gardening is such a ‘happy’ hobby. You can’t look at all the flowers and not smile.

Wow the butterfly is amazing, so pretty. I can’t wait to see what you are going to do with your new garden now you have so much more space.

Like Jody, I’m hoping that even with all the work on the house you can get out for a bike ride this weekend!
I can’t remember if you already said – will you take some of the flowers out of your current garden with you or just leave everything for the new owners?

Pretty! I’m sad because I had two beautiful rose bushes that did not come back this spring. 🙁 I’m leaving them I hopes that maybe next year they will come back by some miracle. My sedum also is very small this year. Must’ve been a hard winter!

Surprise flowers are fun! When I was little once my mom had us carve pumpkins on the back porch when we lived in California. The next year we got 3 pumpkins off the surprise pumpkin plant that sprouted from a rogue seed!

Hi, I found you from Beth at Bizzy Kitchen. Rehab, gardens, food and the stance that we need to STOP pumpkin spicing every dang thing? Looks like you have a new lifetime subscriber.
