July Goals

We finally broke out the downstairs window AC unit today.  We have had the unit in the upstairs bedroom window for a while now, but the downstairs usually doesn’t get too bad, especially since we got the new windows with the E glass a few years ago.  Anyway, it was 80 degrees in the living room by late morning and we decided it was time to put it in knowing it would only get worse.

That makes it officially feel like summer.

July Goals:

1. 400 bike miles this month. A biking goal! This averages out to be 13 miles a day or so, but obviously it doesn’t work like that. The majority of the miles will come on weekends, but this means dedicating myself to early morning exercise when it is cool.

2.  Declutter and reorganize these 2 bookshelves.  They are just a mess and a catch-all for stuff.

3.  Eat more veggies.  I have been pretty slack about the veggies lately. Even my beloved broccoli!

4.  Deep clean rooms. This is another one I am moving from the June list. It’s gotta get done.

I think I will stop at 4 because I really want to do a better job on acheiving these than I did with June goals. Not to mention finishing up my settee. I hope to be done with that this weekend. Yay!

Did you know that broccoli is supposed to guard against alzheimer’s? I just heard that last week. Guess who has some broccoli in her fridge today? Of course, I guess you have to actually eat it for it to have any effect : )

Yep, that is a lofty bike goal. Personally, I think the de-cluttering the bookcases might be a little harder. And I bet you don’t get any ice cream after you finish the bookcases!

Gee, I don’t remember that about broccoli 😉

I think the bookcases will be harder for me. I *want* to be on my bike. I don’t care about dusting the bookcase.

I love your idea of having monthly goals! That’s something I’ve been thinking about implementing into my own life lately-especially non weight related ones.

Woohoo a biking goal: love it!

I usually deepclean something every now and then but lately I’ve been lazy and I need to start picking up some parts of the house for a good clean again.

Yeah, we kind of do the minimum stuff around here, but when you look deeper – we need to do a better job cleaning LOL

We’re not born to clean I always say 🙂 Everything else in life is better than cleaning but I don’t want to spend money on a cleaning lady so I do it myself (under protest 🙂 )

Holy mileage – but you’ll knock that one out of the park!

I like the idea of more veggies and deep cleaning a room. I definitely need to organize some rooms in the house – they are getting unwieldy.

I love veggie, and I love these goals. Blogging about mine this afternoon. Rock on, Lori, rock on!

My bookshelves are a mess, too. Just waiting for the next rainy day to spend some serious time decluttering.

Can’t wait to see the settee completed! I love (LOVE!) the fabric.
