June Wrap Up!

Ahhhhh!!!! The end of June!  It seems every month I keep saying how fast the time goes.  I need something new to say.  We started off the month with the little weekend getaway to Portsmouth and here it is just about July!

Let’s move on to the goals, shall we?

1.  Continue the last stage of Female Body Breakthrough.  Done. I am ready to move on to something else now. I definitely am stronger, but I didn’t lose any inches after 4 months.

2.  Be more disciplined with eating. Ehhh… some days okay, some days not. Stress eating really is getting the better of me lately.

3.Deep cleaning in rooms of the house. I did a little bit of this, but got waylaid by other things.

4. Keep doing my projects. Working on currently with my little settee find!

5. Try to write a couple garden how-to posts. I did not do this. I kept thinking about it, though.

Hoo boy, this was a strange month for the goals. Swing and a miss on most of them! But that’s what the next month is for, right? It’s just that feeling of spinning my wheels and getting nowhere in several aspects of my life currently, some my own fault, some caused by forces I cannot control. I love progress and it gets frustrating when I stagnate.

Anyway, here is some settee progress.  I had to paint it. After patching the wood, it just wasn’t going to take the stain and look good at all, so I went ahead and spray painted it (and my feet).

Now it is ready for spring tying and fabric! And welcome to my garage in all it’s glory.  😳

This is the fabric I got, which I have to say I love.

It has music, birds and flowers – 3 of my favorite things! I really hope I don’t mess it up LOL.  I also have to find our iron, which I think we still have.

Tomorrow is July and a fresh set of goals, thank goodness!

You made me laugh at finding your iron. That is one thing that I always know where it is. But if I didn’t quilt, I would have a hard time finding it! I love the settee painted black, and that is the perfect setting for that fabric!

And hey–at least you set goals, which is more than I can say for myself.

I hope some of the stress will settle down soon. Its not good to live with stress for too long.

I cannot even remember the last time I used the iron. I will wear wrinkled tops instead of looking for it. …hanging head in shame…

Stress is no bueno. I am working to eliminate some of it. Hard decisions.

I like the black paint on the settee. That material is so pretty…and I have an iron. If you need it, I’ll dust it off!

The black will work really well with the type on the fabric! Can’t wait to see it finished. Your new house will be stylin’ 🙂

People don’t think of stress eating as emotional eating but this workshop I’ve been doing has shown me differently. I’m not saying it makes it better but I can admit a few times when I’ve wanted to eat without hunger lately I’ve been able to recognize that emotion as stress and stop it. As you know I feel like you and I are soul sisters when it comes to food and exercise – one we have down pat and the other is a work in progress. Not to mention that stress is toxic in so many other ways. I feel for you!!

Girl I will totally wear a wrinkled anything around the house, but I am forced to iron when I leave my domain lol!

Stress eating is totally emotional eating for me. I find if I get frustrated the first thing I start to do is go to the pantry.

Think you did pretty well on your goals. Can’t wait to see the settee when it’s finished, great choice for the fabrics.

I am excited for the settee, but nervous because now I am entering territory that I have never explored before, which would be the spring tying and upholstery part. Guess I have a good holiday weekend project awaiting me! 😀

I’m a MAJOR stress eater. Some day I’ll figure out a better way to manage it. I envy people who are stress exercisers, lol.

The fabric is adorable – it reminds me a bit of the stencil you put on the top of the dresser because of the little Paris stamp on it. I can’t wait to see the finished settee!!

My iron comments are EXACTLY Debby’s. Great quilters iron alike. Your settee is going to look fabulous, with the black in the fabric against the black wood, but lots of warm colors too.
