Okay, I am waaaay jumping the gun here, but finally seeing something poke out of the ground other than an icicle!
Of course, some of the garden is still buried, but I will take whatever right now. There is some foliage that was frozen green from last fall, which is cool. That will die off when the new growth comes in. However, it is nice to see a little bit of color.
I think this might be a snowdrop. One of my fellow garden club members gave me a snowdrop last year. Of course, April is really late for these, but it finally poked through!
And some tulip buds! This is the part of the garden that gets the most sun and the snow melted off it first. I am so happy to see those teeny, tiny buds!
I might shovel the snow off the rest of the garden and free it up this weekend.
We took another visit to Radiance Manor to make sure all was well while waiting for this endless closing. We just signed another 30 day extension on the contract. I had a meltdown about it the other day because I just wanted an update about where we are in the process and no one seems willing to give me one and nobody seems to even understand why that upsets me (which makes me more upset). I really don’t ask for things very often and because of that, if I do ask, I expect a response. On top of work stress and it just wasn’t a very good day.
Someday the reward will be worth it. Such a beautiful house.
There is a little nook off the kitchen that we are going to use as a breakfast area with a little 2-person table.
We aren’t sure what is underneath that awful red linoleum. Would that it be hardwood, but probably not. If it is not, we will be putting down a dark cork along with the kitchen.
Fingers crossed that we might get the bikes out this weekend if the rain goes away!
Oh Lori….. hang in there…. That house is so incredible, its going to be so worth it! Think of the gardening you will do there! That house really seems perfect for you two. Hugs!deb
It will be great. I just had a moment of impatience.
The house looks even better in the sunlight!
That kind of waiting would drive me crazy. I’d always be wondering if they’re actually doing *anything* on their end…
(looks like somebody bricked up a window on the second floor left? If so, you could have a matching one made some day!)
That’s what I wanted answers on – is anything even being done? Drives me nuts.
That is just a shadow from vines, no bricked up window there. These walls get covered with ivy, which is pretty charming.
Lori, that house looks wonderful…esp. the little breakfast nook…hold on!!! Mary in Cincinnati P.S. love the blue chair.
Thanks Mary!
So happy to see bare ground in New York!
And what a good idea to review Radiance Manor. I LOVE the kitchen breakfast nook. What fun you are going to have creating your new home!
Here’s hoping for tulips, biking, kittens, A HOUSE CLOSING, and rainbows for you. Hugs from Kim.
So sorry for your Very Bad Day. Of all the emotional by-products, frustration is the worst, I think.
I actually like the red linoleum. 🙂 But, yes hardwood would be great.
Ahhh, so nice to see a What’s Blooming post from you! 🙂
I am with Cammy, I kind of like the red lino. Of course, we’re seeing it in pictures vs. real life, so it might be a different story in person. Any case, I sure hope you are able to get your hands on that house sooner rather than later so you can start having fun with all the renovations!
I’m so bummed for you on having to keep waiting to move into that gorgeous house!!
I hope that the weekend is nice enough for you to ride your bike!!
BTW – at our venue yesterday I saw a couple of flowers (maybe tulips or irises – sad that I don’t know) – it was so nice to see the pretty colors!!
HUGS!!! Sounds like so much going on BUT at least a few signs of spring!!! Can’t wait to see your blooms!!!
Still love your new house! And finally some signs of blooming, you had to wait a long time for that this year.
