April Goals

Welcome April!  I don’t do the pranks on April 1st, do you?

I have to tell you about my bargain. A few months ago, I saw a chair at TJMaxx that I just loved the color of.  It was only $99. However, we were thinking we were going to be moving soon and didn’t want to buy more stuff. Every time I went to that store over last last few months, I would always look at ‘my’ chair. Finally, Sunday I was browsing after getting my hair cut and at first I didn’t see the chair, but it was moved and the priced marked down to $79!  Again, I didn’t want to buy a piece of furniture before we move, but since we don’t know how long it will be, I decided to get the chair. We went out last night and picked it up.

I think it is a pretty snazzy chair for $80.  Pixie loves it, too, unfortunately. I already had to brush hair off it.  I am in love with the color. Good thing we are moving because it doesn’t go with our living room wall color 😉  We have the next contract extension in the works for another 30 days, sigh, so no move in the near future.

On to April goals:

1.  60 minutes of exercise a day.  I don’t necessarily mean all out stuff for an hour every day, but on days where I am not lifting, I need to be biking or walking for 60 minutes. That’s my goal.

2.  Clean the windows! It’s spring cleaning time. John is enlisted to help with this, but I would like to get the winter grime off the windows this month. Just in time for pollen season 😀

3. Figure out my eating plan.  I am doing the FBB, which will continue, but I am not seeing the results that I want to see after 6 weeks. Strength is progressing, but no change in how my body looks or fits in clothes. I need to tweak something, which means the eating plan since the lifting is good. Not sure quite how yet, but I have set forth the goal.

4.  Experiment with my sourdough starter. Breadipus Rex is alive and kicking after being dormant in the fridge for a while.  Quite so – I fed him and he went and exploded all over.

It’s alive!! Gonna need a bigger jar…

5. Start my for-hire contractor businessOkay, that’s an April Fool’s joke 😀

I think that is a good set of goals to work on this month. Have you got any plans for April?

Wow! You got me on your April Fool’s joke. I gasped for just a second. You know you could get a lot of business from your blog, don’t you?

As always, some very good (and lofty) goals. I will be interested to see how you tweak your food plan. It is fun to tweak it once in a while!

The chair is beautiful, a total bargain, and I think it looks good with the wall it is next to.

It’s funny, the color of the wall didn’t come out quite as it is in real life because the chair definitely doesn’t go with the wall. The wall is a kiwi green.

And I was going to be your first contract customer darn it!!

I saw your chair’s sister at Home Goods last night. Same style, a bit different fabric – but it was $129.99. It would match my new furniture really well. I want it so bad but my money is going to paint and carpet right now.

I like your goals. I actually do clean my windows around the beginning of May each year. I should probably copy a couple of your others…

That’s the difference between HomeGoods and TJMaxx. I used to like HomeGoods, but the price seemed to have gotten higher. Hang on, maybe it will go on sale as well 😉

Love your goals for the month. I have to do at least some kind of exercise for 30 minutes a day but better is 60 minutes. Usually when I work out in the morning and walk in the afternoon I make 60 minutes easily. If I have a rest from exercise and just walk 30 minutes is enough. Not stressing about it.

I get caught up in things on those days that aren’t designated lifting days and will only do 30 minutes or so, but I have to change something up there. Since I sit all day, it’s good for me to get off my butt more LOL!

That’s why I try to do 60 minutes a day too. I have a desk job too. During the day I walk to people’s desks if I have to ask something instead of using email or phone, that helps a little too. Besides when I have been inside all day it’s so nice to get some fresh air in the evening.

OMG, the pic with Pixie on FB – loved that – too funny! Beautiful chair though! 🙂

Always the friggin food Lori – isn’t it. The older I got, the more I made changes there! 🙁

Reconsider the April Fool’s joke. Just think of all your adoring blog fans who would love to put you up while you weave your carpentry magic and transform our humble abodes into beautiful masterpieces!!

Love the chair! It’s sassy, but still elegant.

Great April goals. I’ll be sharing the 60 minutes goal with you, although I’m happy with 45-60 minutes. I also include lawn mowing and other get-your-heartrate-up chores in the time.

Nope, don’t do April Fool’s jokes either. Some of them are funny, but some are cruel.

So glad you got that chair – what a bargain! Plus, it shows off Pixie’s beautiful fur so nicely. 🙂

I should do 60 minutes of exercise every day. I don’t, but I should.

I think that you should start a contractor for hire business – you would probably be swamped!!
So glad you got the chair when it went on sale – it is beautiful!!
I have to do windows this month, too – both at home and at our venue (that is going to be a chore because they haven’t been done in years!!).

Blue is my favorite color, so I love the chair! I once had a dining room that was painted cobalt blue with white trim – I loved it!

Love your goals – 60 minutes a day being my favorite one. I looked back on my summer when I was doing Insanity – and I was at about 90 minutes a day of exercising – I need to do that again!

  10. Leah

I like your goals. I am going to put out some tomorrow, I think. For starters..get back to tracking my food, past breakfast and lunch. 😛

The chair is gorgeous and I love that colour too.

I am officially finished school this month and my only goal is to enjoy myself! So it is off to Miami Beach and the Bahamas closer to the end of the month! Wheeee!

Good luck with your goals…especially the window cleaning.
