Lifting and changing focus.

Now that the house closing is delayed for what feels like forever, I need to rearrange things I kind of had mapped out.  One of those was to join the gym after we moved and settled in.  I think I will just do that after we get back from vacation next month and not wait.  I need to decide what program to do:  New Rules of Lifting for Women, NROL for Life or Female Body Breakthrough.  I am leaning towards FBB because I liked that program a lot.

On that note, here was today’s workout.

Exercise Set/reps
Lunges 3 sets of 10 each leg
Bent Over Row 3 sets of 10
Pushups 3 sets of 10
Stiff-legged Deadlift 3 sets of 10
Front Raise 3 sets of 10
Lying French Press 3 sets of 10
Trunk Twist 3 sets of 10 each side
Low Back Extension 3 sets of 10

I always feel really badass after doing a lifting workout.

I haven’t shown a breakfast in a while. This was oat bran with almond butter and maple cream.

I have been working on a new piece for guitar.

I love this little work by Fernando Sor. It’s sounding really good except the last 6 bars, which are kicking my ass. They are awkward.  I hope to record this one late in the year on video.  I have a couple other to do first, but I am entranced with this one.  The nice thing about not being a music student or professional musician anymore is that I can decide what pieces to learn. If I don’t like one – I don’t have to practice it!

I just realized I use the word ass twice in this post (3 times now), oopsie!  Normally I keep my potty mouth off the blog.

My latte and snack today with model Pixie!

She’s kind of grumpy because I put her on the foot stool when she tried to lay in my lap, but she spent the day there anyway.

I do have to say that now I am feeling restless. RESTLESS! All that energy I was gearing towards the move and rehabbing has no focus right now. Look out whatever project I decide to land on LOL!

John and I are going stir crazy and are braving the cold to spend some time out of the house with coffee tonight.  I guess that means I can’t get in my jammies yet.

LOL on your potty mouth. I was thinking as I read, “wow, Lori is just saying it like it is.” And then you noticed too. Yes, that is a huge change of directions temporarily. I really do know how you are feeling with the restlessness. Maybe doing your lifts at the gym will put some of that restlessness to use.

Yes, my real-life speech is quite… peppery, I would say LOL! I think part of the restlessness is not have an official date, but a nebulous timeline.

HaHa – I’m the same way – I rarely cuss on my blog – I guess the act of writing things down helps me censor better than when I talk!!!

For decaf to taste the same, you have to buy the expensive stuff, which is hard to find in a regular grocery store. Gotta get that from a cafe.

I try not to cuss on my blog and if I do I use asterisks in the word so googling on that word doesn’t direct you to my blog 🙂

Good for you for picking up your lifting program again and for going out for coffee. I can imagine the cold weather keeps you inside almost 24 hours a day now and getting out for a while is nice then. I assume you put on the jammies as soon as you got back? 🙂

It’s so different working at home because you get stir crazy faster. Most people work outside the home and get home in this cold weather and don’t want to leave. We get tired of being in the same place all the time!

Pixie love! Pixie should star movies, she’s so expressive! 🙂

I’m also working on FBB and love it as always. Do you do real push ups?

I do real pushups. Sometimes I have to modify to incline because ever since I sprained my shoulder a little over a year ago, it’s harder to do them.

I feel like that after weights too – I love the feeling! 🙂 Glad you are going back to it – maybe that will help the restlessness of no project! 😉

Can’t wait to see a new guitar video – I love them!

Poor Pixie but she still has the life! 🙂

I wonder what it says about me that I didn’t even think a thing about your potty mouth until you pointed it out? Oh dear.

Listen, I’ve got some places where you could put your frustrated rehabbing energy… I really want to tile my kitchen floor and both entrances. Wanna come spend a few days in Connecticut and help me? I’ll feed you really well too 😉

I’m always a little stir-crazy this time of year.

Is there anything that you could do to your current house that would make it more sellable? That might be a good project to do? If there’s any painting, etc… you could possibly knock those things off the list now so when you do close you can focus your energy on your beautiful new home! I am so excited for you I can barely stand it.

Oh – and you have no excuse to be too stir-crazy. Your vacation is almost here!!! Color me jealous. 😉

We have been doing some spruce up stuff like paint touchups and deep cleaning. I will be working on the countert op. We weren’t going to do that before we moved, but may as well now.

Of course, New Orleans is cold right now, too – although not minus 15!!!

On days when my hubby works out of his home office he sometimes just needs to get outside for a while – a walk in the neighborhood or a drive if it’s too cold to walk. He just needs to see something other than the 4 walls of his office.

Sounds like you need a project to channel all the energy into! Boy I could put you to work on some home projects at my house! The weather is warmer here too!
