Table update

Is it only Tuesday?  It sure feels like at least Thursday.  Gah!

My back is doing much better. The acute pain is gone, thank goodness. Now it’s just kind of a dull ache. I have gone off the heavy duty meds and am only on the ibuprofen 3 times a day.  I feel pretty good, although I get the occasional grab of pain if I move wrong.

It is that hectic time of year. We have a few too many irons in the fire. Even John said today he wanted to stress eat.  I didn’t take pictures of any food except for the dinner that John made, which was venison chili in the crockpot!

We made some more progress on the farmhouse table.  This is the base:

And this is the top frame we put together tonight (just sitting on the base and not attached right now).

Those rectangles in the middle will be filled with the small strips of wood.  It’s looking more and more like a table. An amateur table, but still a table.  Gotta finish it up!  The sanding is going to take the longest. I can’t wait to get it stained, either. I suppose it if doesn’t get finished, we can always plop a piece of plywood on top and serve dinner off of that, right?

During all the stress, something that will help relax me arrived in the mail today:

I look forward to settling in with this under the heated fleece with some decaf 😀

Have you ever grown those Helleborus? They look so beautiful in the picture!

And your table is going to be so pretty! How fun to have a new table for Christmas. And yes, if you need to, use plywood. I know a very “chic” woman who does it every year for her very large family!

Glad to hear your back is doing better. I don’t plan too much anymore in December. I love the holiday month and prefer spending it at home. I already planned Christmas dinner and when to do which groceries so no stress in that department 🙂

Table looks very good so far.

I hope that back heals quickly!

I am excited to see the finished table. As a person with no skills like this at all, it is fascinating to me that other people are able to hand craft in this way.

Ha – already planning your next floral additions? Love it! 🙂

The table is really coming along nicely. It’s going to look beautiful when completed. Don’t stress too much, just try and take it all in. It’s a busy time of year but there’s so much to enjoy. Glad to hear your back is better!

Yes, I have some garden plans in mind 😀

I’m not stressed about the table. That’s actually fun. There are just other stressful things going on that get annoying.

So sorry you hurt your back – hope you are better soon. That table is looking great. You both are so talented – I would never attempt to make a table. Perfect timing on getting that flower/plant catalog.

I am in awe of those tapered legs. Did you guys do that yourselves? Actually, I’m in awe of building a table, period!

Gotta luv winter projects. Your table is simply elegant. Good work. We plan on doing a bathroom remodel after Christmas. I do hope your back heals completely. That alone would stress me out enough to not eat at all, or maybe overeaten – not sure how I would handle an injury.
Strength, determination, and healing for you!
