I think we skipped late summer and headed right into fall!
Last night we went to a concert in Lake George. It’s part of the summer series and I was really surprised to see Buckwheat Zydeco on the lineup! I was crossing my fingers for good weather all week. Yay! We picked up my mom and went to hear some tunes!
These concerts are held at Shepard’s Park outdoors.
It got dark fast, too. What happened to our long days??? It’s strange being at the lake when the sun is setting as we so rarely drive here.
Yay Buckwheat!
Any of you like Zydeco?
Couple short snippets of play:
We are headed back to New Orleans as part of our winter vacation next year and now we are really in the mood!
I like zydeco music! What a fun evening, although I am just a tad bit jealous of your cool evening. 😉
That kind of music always makes me smile!!!
It has been unseasonably cool here, too – I thought about making soup today but it just seems wrong for August!!
What a fun event! Live music is so amazing and what a nice event to share with your mom.
What a lovely evening! I don’t know the band but going to a concert, especially outdoors is always fun.
How fun – another New Orleans trip! Has the countdown officially started yet?
I’ve never heard of Zydeco but it looks fun. I agree about skipping late summer and heading into fall. It’s crazy. Luckily it looks like the warmer temps are back, just not the longer days. Oh well, we’ll take what we can get, right?
Not officially started yet. We are just about getting the dates nailed down. It’s going to be a long trip – half in New Orleans and half in Colorado visiting John’s family.
Yes, I agree its crazy about you getting fall weather already. We are still in full summer. And then we will have late summer in September. And Indian summer in October. Not that there’s anything wrong with that… A little rain to settle the dust would be appreciated!
You get quite a few opportunities for live music, it seems. That is really nice. Either we don’t have that opportunity up here, or I just don’t know about it.
We have tons of activities around here all summer long (and fall). Part of it is the tourist area and part is just this area seems to like festivals and really taking advantage of the warm weather when it is here.
Looks like a fun evening! Zydeco has that effect. 🙂 In your NOLA travels, have you ever ventured over to Lafayette or Baton Rouge? Lots of great music in that area and often in unexpected places. 🙂
No – we don’t have a car when we go there, so tend to stay in New Orleans. Mostly French Quarter, but we have gone to the garden district and CBD.
I’m probably in the minority but I think it’s TOO COLD! *Dislike*
Buckwheat Zydeco comes around this area quite often. Now every time I see they are in town, I will think of you!
Thanks to you and John for taking me along to the concert. I had a great time. I felt like dancing! Zydeco makes you feel that way.
How fun!!!! Zydeco is so fun!! Have a great Friday Lori.
What a wonderful time Lori – always nice to get out & enjoy! I expect to see you performing with your guitar one day! 🙂
Love Zydeco, New Orleans and all of Louisiana!
