April Wrap Up!

Quickie post! Another month come and gone.  Forward into spring now – woo hoo!

May is going to be a busy month.

Here were my goals for April:

1. 250 miles on the bike.  I didn’t quite make it.  Weather didn’t cooperate as fully as I would have liked, but I did get 170 miles in.

2.  Do a month of body weight only exercises.  I was somewhat lame about this and only posted 1 of the routines.

3.  Guitar video.  I posted one yesterday and as a bonus for lucky listeners, a second one below!

4.  Clean out the pantry.  I did clear out some old spices, but I think we need to do a “use stuff up in the pantry” month.

5. Try 2 new veggies.  I did one – the rutabaga.  Turns out this time of year there aren’t a lot of new types of produce in the market.   I could have done something like orange cauliflower, but that would have been pretty lame of me.  😀

So, yesterday I posted a video and here is the other one.  Waltz in E by Carulli

I like yesterday’s recording better, but this is a fun tune.  Next videos will be even better in the future!

Back with May goals tomorrow.

At least you make goals and work on them! That’s a lot of miles for as cold as your April was!

I watched both guitar videos and enjoyed them both. I have a question. I used to be a cello player. Oh, and I played bass for a while too. (just so you know I’d played a stringed instrument.) But when I tried to learn to play the guitar, it just seemed impossible. My fingers were too short. You don’t look like you have a problem at all. Maybe your fingers are longer than mine. I was just wondering if you have a different size guitar, or if it is hard for you and you make it look effortless!

It could be the guitar you tried. There are a lot of different size necks. Mine is a fairly flat-backed neck, so my fingers have more room to move around than if it was more rounded. Does that make sense? I do think that classical guitars tend to be a bit smaller than acoustic as well. My hand cramps sometimes when I have to do a lot of stretching.

The guitar video was wonderful! Very smooth chord changes. I recently bought a new guitar (my old one went boing, like yours did) and am practicing again. I’ve got a long way to go–thanks for the inspiration!

You did pretty good last month. April has flown by so fast, hopefully May will bring real Spring weather for the both of us.

Oh how I love acoustic classic guitar…swoon!! Compile a CD for me, would you? TIA 🙂

My goal was to stay at or under budget in April. Just crunched the numbers. Let’s just say that I didn’t reach that goal. By a lot. I think I need to go with your idea and try a new veggie instead this month.

I love your guitar videos. This one was really good too, although yesterday’s was amazing. I can play it over and over and listen to it while I’m checking email – it’s a really soothing and pretty piece. Loved it!

We all try our best & that is that! 🙂 I LOVE your guitar videos but I do love yesterdays so much & play it now & then while I do work here on the computer! 🙂 I love the way you FEEL the music when you play!!!

I am amazed you got 170 miles in because of all the crappy weather you had! Hope May is nicer weather wise!
