View from a chair

Ask and ye shall receive, right?  Today was busy with work from the get-go and I busted out all my lines and was finished by dinner time with some extra in there, too!  Woo Hoo!

It was cold this morning and I wanted to wait a bit before going out for my jog/walk workout.  So, I made up some banana custard oats topped with almond butter and peach marmalade (from my jam swap).

Eaten while working.

I worked for a while and then went out for my workout.  It was 45 degrees.  Brrr!  At least it feels warmer when running in those temps than biking    The intervals are going good.  I am in week 7 of C25K, which is the same week I was doing last year when I gave up running for good (harhar). I am curious to how I will handle the 25 minute run scheduled for later in the week, which made me cry last year.  My thigh definitely feels the jogging, but I just need to remember to take it slow.

I was hungry when I got back, but it was too early for lunch, so I had some grapes to tide me over.

Looking over the construction zone.  I will be so glad to get this done and life back to our version of normal.

Speaking of lunch, I had my obsession lately of BBQ turkey on a potato!

I am working on a new account with work, which will hopefully help keep me busy enough to be able to work a set schedule again.  This account is endocrine, and the majority of the reports are on diabetics.  It’s always surprising to me how many people are noncompliant with their meds.  The nice thing is that the account manager said my work was excellent, and that was something I really needed to hear. We almost never hear feedback unless there is a problem, so it is good to know when your work is  noticed for a good reason.

John made up lattes today.  He does them well.  I suppose I should tip him.

Can you tell I live in this chair pretty much?  The chair is completely molded to my butt.  I work from this chair and now I have been eating most meals from this chair with the flooring project.  John pulls his office chair in to eat.  6 feet from the TV.  We are classy, that’s for sure.

Dinner today was something we haven’t had in a while.  Omelets!  John cooked up a couple slices of bacon, which were so good.

Nom, nom!

I  have a free evening, and we are now out for coffee! Yay!

I even twisted John’s arm to share lemon bread with me.    😉

Today’s pink item? My ear buds!

I’m happy to hear your running is going well. I so wish I could run every time I’m out walking with Tally. She loves to run but it’s just too much on my knees. Rob and I eat most meals in front of the television, it’s a habit I want to break. I think I should go about setting aside two dinners at the table nights.

I hope the running will be okay. I am trying to learn what version 2.0 of my running is.

We do normally eat dinner at the table, but then again, we can see the TV from the dining room and have it on while we eat LOL!

I wear similar earbuds but they are blue! I love that you are posting something pink for Breast Cancer Awareness! It was my sorority’s philanthropy in college so we did a lot of work with American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen.

I love that you sprinkle spices on your fruit. I may have to ‘borrow’ that idea.

The red grapes have been super good lately. I tend to do everything from one chair too. I eat my dinner there, and then I settle in for some doggie lap time and some needlework.

I think I need a new seat cushion on my chair. We got it for $40 when a store was going out of business. It is one of those gliding rockers with a foot stool. I need to spruce it up a bit. Maybe a winter project.

Funny that we’re both on running version 2.0 of ourselves 🙂 you will be fine during the 25-minute run, just take it slow as you said yourself too.

I am happy that I work at a company where managers gives you a compliment when it’s needed. There are so many companies where you only hear something when it’s not good. Glad to hear you heard a positive feedback about your work.

Kind of a nice thing about there just being the two of you is you can do things however you want. We eat all over the house. LOL!! Wish we’d had more time to talk about your work – I’d love to know more about how the work comes to you, etc. Stay warm! We’re expecting our first temps in the 30s tonight. I’m fine with that – hopefully reminding the snakes its time to head underground!!

Honestly, I prefer to sit at the table and eat – or at least on the stool at the kitchen counter, but Mr. Helen does not. Every once in a while I get frustrated and stomp my foot and insist that we eat at the table but mostly it’s one of those marriage issues that I have to think, “Do I want to fight this battle?” I did when Little Helen was growing up because teenagers talk at the table even when they won’t anywhere else. But especially in the last 6-7 years I’ve fought for it less.

Running shouldn’t make you cry. If it does, it’s not worth it! But I’m glad to hear you are doing well so far.

Glad you are hanging in with the running & feeling OK. Hope that continues!

WOW, those grapes look amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want some! Well all the food looks good! 🙂

So sad about people & not taking care of themselves…. BUT on the bright side – compliments go a long way!

You’re already on week 7? Wow – I couldn’t get past the 5 minutes of straight running. 🙂

Nothing wrong with eating our of your chair. I’m fond of eating dinner in front of my computer so I can check email while I eat and then scoot out to class.

Good going on the run. I hope you can run pain free ’cause you are SO right, riding a bike in the cooler temps is tough, it seems you (maybe just me) keep getting colder.
    Lovin’ the pink buds 🙂

Part of my diabetes management means I have to see a foot doctor once a year. I went with a new doctor a few years back after my old one retired. Whenever I go to the foot doctor I treat myself to a pedicure – I figure its only nice to come in with pretty feet!

So the doctor walks in, looks at my folder and says “your insulin dependent diabetic?” Before I could even say yes, he looked down at my feet and said “those are the prettiest feet I’ve seen in a long time!”

He’s had diabetic patients come in with holes in the bottom of their feet and they didn’t even know it!

Hoping your 25 minute run won’t make you cry! Hugs!
