Another tough workout.  The pushups were so hard.  I had to make them all incline pushups since they were the 3rd in a giant set.  I normally do straight up pushups, so that gives me some work to do. Anyway, the shapeover is all finished. I’ll talk a bit more about the wrap up of this program on Monday and my thoughts on it.

John and I went out for lunch and then some bowling!  That was one of my goals this month.  I realize that we had not been bowling at least since I hurt my back  – and that was almost 2 years ago. Eeek!

We do own our own shoes and balls.  Mine is the pink one.

My bowling form really is horrible.  I know it, but whatever 😀

John’s is good.

Ooops:

First game.  Me, not so great.  John had one of his best games.  Go figure!

Second game – I did much better.  Check out the strikes!

At least I was consistent:  Strike/whiff/strike/whiff.  My arm was tired after 2 games.

Saturday was kind of cold in the 30s, but Sunday warmed up to about 55 degrees.  If it is over 50, I am on the bike!  A full month earlier than last year.  I got to wear my new YMX Yellowman long sleeve jersey that I won from Shelley a few months ago:

Love!!!  I need to get a better pic of this.  It’s actually quite … ahem … figure enhancing.

First ride of the season!

Happy, happy, joy, joy!!  We took the long way to downtown GF, swinging by my parents’ house to say hi to my dad on our way by.  Destination? Chocolate Mill for some coffee!

7 miles there.  My legs felt great! Even on the small hills.  All that leg work I have done the last month really helped.  The wind was pretty stiff on the way home, though.  I will say that.  The last 3 miles were tough.  I was just so happy to be on the bike again!  It felt awesome!  Yeah, I can ride the bike on the trainer, but there is just nothing like being on it outside.

Bike computer set to zero and ready to go for the 2012.  First ride: 15 miles!

Yay!  Can you tell I am happy?  😳 The weather looks good this week to sneak in some more rides, hopefully.  Got build up for the 40 mile cuppicake rides.

Great! I smiling here about your joy on being on the bike OUTside again. I considered riding today, but since DH is away and he’s my biking buddy, I decided to walk/run on the river path instead. I’m glad, because the entire world was out there riding. I don’t enjoy navigating around people on my bike. We’re supposed to have great weather tomorrow, too, and I may get out for a spin before the kiddos arrive around noon. Love your new shirt! Happy biking season.

Sweet! Love that you are getting to bike outside so early in the year!!! Feels GREAT, doesn’t it? You look wonderful in the YMX top – yeah, it hugs the bod a bit, but you are a workout goddess and can pull it off, no problem! 🙂

You do look and sound happy! I am jealous of you and Lynn and your bike rides. Maybe I will do something about it this year.

Yippee to getting out on the bike! I was just as happy to get out for a hike today. Lovely, lovely weather!

    The bowling looks fun!

Sounds like a wonderful time you guys had all the way around. I haven’t been bowling in ages either. But with my bum shoulder (my bowling arm) not sure it would be a good plan. You sure do look happy 🙂 happy times are always great 🙂 Yes, I too am looking forward to a pretty week and enjoying that extra hour every evening of daylight.

Wooohooooooooo for a bike ride outside! Happy for you guys that you could go out a month earlier than last year. May there be many more beautiful bike rides this season.

I like bowling every now and then. We did it in January with R.’s work and are going to do it again first weekend of April with friends. But I’m not a very good bowler 🙂

Yes, you look very happy. Even your riding gloves look energetic! (love the yellow color) 🙂

We still have plenty of snow but it’s melting. Still some before we can walk or ride without endangering our health…

    LOVE everything YMX.
I wore my tanktop yesterday for the hardcore workout of a matinee with a 6 year old 🙂

Love that photo of you and John, you both look so happy!

I think we’re in for a really good, unseasonably warm week of weather. Sort of nice to have this and DST coincide as it encourages me to go ahead and take a walk after work if I’m going to Muay Thai. Let’s just hope the wind isn’t too crazy because it was nutty here over the whole weekend!

You and John are sooooooooooooo cute! Happy couple & fun all the time!

I love that YMX jersey too & I got one of their ones on the $25 sale – LOVE YMX!!!!

So glad you got out to ride – yes, you do look happy!

Awesome! I want to get my bike out too. Tried to get son’s bike into my van to bring it to his place today (thus giving me more space to get mine out easier…) but I couldn’t get the seat down in the van…
Sorry I haven’t been here – just want to let you know that the toilet paper roll plant pots idea is GREAT! I couldn’t comment when I came here at that post, but meant to come back and, well, haven’t! Looks like you’re doing well!

    YAY FOR BIKE RIDING!!

I can’t believe it’s been warm enough to be out riding but the roads look great. I need to drive over to Mom & Dad’s to pump up my tires and get my bike over in my garage. I have some goals to bike this year!

  15. Joanne

We have friends who are top in their league for bowling. There’s just no way I’d reveal my skills or lack there of for bowling.

Loving the weather! Ted will be out on his bike soon as well.

How fun, yay for biking again, and wow….that husband of yours got a seriously impressive bowling score!!! Looks like a great weekend. Hope the week continues to be great for you both.

Hooray for biking!! Saw it on Facebook – so cool! I love to bowl too – I may have my daughter take me bowling for my birthday. 😀

Cycling question – do you have any tips for getting used to the clipless pedals? I got a new touring bike in November and got the dual-platform pedals. I have been kind of wimp with the clipless pedals. Thanks, Kim

Just lots of riding. It took me a several months before I was comfortable in them. Just use the shoes every time and don’t use the flat side of the pedal – make yourself do it. I still sometimes have to remind myself to unclip when coming to a stop!

There’s nothing like the feeling of warm sunlight on your face! Can’t duplicate that on your trainer!
