Operation Endurance begins

Take advantage of every day. You never know when things can change overnight.  My heart goes out to all those in Japan right now.  Please remember if you donate to any relief effort, check it out first at Charity Watch to make sure it is on the up and up.

Rainy night all night and rain today. At least it isn’t snow! We are lucky enough to be on top of a hill, so no flooding worries for us or basement issues. Very thankful.

I had a protein drink and then headed to do an awesome strength workout. I am moving to Operation Endurance now that bike season is approaching, so I am lowering the weights and increased the reps.  I think I will also go back to 3 times a week with lifting. My goal is to not build strength anymore, but to regain endurance.  Cupcakes are 20 miles  each way!

Exercise Set/rep/weight Muscle worked
Cable Squat to Row 3 sets of 12 at 50# Full Body
Horizontal Wood Chop 3 sets of 10 each side at 30# Core
Barbell Chest Press 3 sets of 12 at 45# Chest
Stiff-legged Deadlift 3 sets of 12 at 60# Lower body
Wide Grip Lat Pulldown 3 sets of 15 at 40# Back
Calf Raise 3 sets of 12 at 140# Calves
Low Back Extension 3 sets of 12 at 90# Low Back
Dumbbell Overhead Press 3 sets of 15 with 8# DBs (16# total) Shoulders

The gym was friendly and fun today. I love days like that. Maybe because it was Friday, or just because of who was there.  However fun it was, I was ready to come home and cook up the steel cut oats I had soaked overnight.

With pumpkin, cinnamon, and egg whites cooked in.  Topped with the last of the crystallized ginger and some coconut butter.

Triple fantabulous yum!

I am in fruit withdrawal!  I may have to shop tonight and pick some up.  Normally we shop just once a week, but a fruit emergency is looming! We have some apple sauce, but I wanted to save that for dinner, so I doubled up the broccoli for lunch!  With a Boca chik’n patty.

Afternoon snack included the usual latte and a few dark chocolate crisps from Marisa’s box to me.

They look like Pringles, but they are chocolate.  At first I thought they were chocolate covered potato chips, but they are not.  Very tasty.

John asked if today was a lower carb day (obviously not with oats on the menu…) and then asked if I wanted to go out for a slice of pizza tonight!  Was I going to say no?  I don’t think so!  Guess I didn’t have to worry about that applesauce after all.  We stopped at East End Eatery:

This was buffalo chicken pizza.  Boy howdy did that hit the spot!  It was the perfect Friday night dinner.

Update:  After dinner we stopped at the store for emergency fruit rations!

Guess you know what my snack is going to be tonight 😀

Question:  How many times a week do you shop?

    I want those chocolate crisps!

I grocery shop once a week. Before we started Meal Planning each week we were both going to the grocery store like 3+ times a week. It was time consuming and frustrating! And expensive!

Usually twice a week, but the second time is mainly for perishables (or anything I forgot the first time). Too funny, I bought the same package/brand of strawberries a few days ago!

I like that a cupcake is only 20 miles away. Totally get that. 🙂

I feel like I shop a lot! I hate planning dinners so can only think a few days ahead at at time. So probably I shop between 2 and 4 times per week. And some of the items I get are only available at one store or another. I hate to be out of fruit!

I do a major grocery trip every 2 weeks and then on the “off-week” I just shop for perishables. Can’t wait for biking season.

I picked up some strawberries at the store tonight because they were so cheap. The main reason I stopped was to get some of that popcorn fish to try!

I am loving the strawberries are affordable! I buy at least 2 lbs. a week and usually stop back at the store and pick up a couple more! I usually shop once a week, but it seems we run out of milk and bananas and have to stop somewhere and pick them up.

    Have a great weekend!

You know I am at Hannaford 2 to 3 times a week! We are always running out of something. I need to plan better!

I am excited for bike weather, this may be my year to finally buy on and start a new cardio routine. Those chips look yummy, gonna have to try them. 🙂 How’s the remodel coming? I am in need of breaking down some walls. Great way to vent frustration. Hope your weekend is a great one!

I shop once a week. I don’t like to do grocery shopping so going once a week is more than enough for me. I buy my fruits and veggies at the supermarket too but since I switched to a new supermarket I’m not to pleased with the quality of the fruits and veggies there. Am thinking about going back to the market on Saturday once a week to get them there.

Thanks for your answer by mail, I’ll get back to you on that tomorrow.

We make one grocery trip a week but usually once a week I’m picking up milk or something extra. On lucky work weeks without trial I get to shop a farmers market at Thursday lunch.
Good luck on Operation Endurance!! Yay for cupcake encouragement

That cu[cake comment cracked me up!!! Sometimes I think of my workouts in terms of how many cookies I want over the weekend! 😉

I probably shop 2-3 times a week. I have different places I go & I don’t want to drive just because especially with gas prices close to $4 a gallon here – or may be there already since I have not checked yet today… anyway, regular grocery store and then TJ’s or Sprouts & also Costco.

Yum to buffalo chicken pizza. I probably shop 4-5 times a week. I only buy produce for a day or two at a time, and there always seems to be SOMETHING that needs picking up. It’s ok, I actually LOVE grocery shopping. Even if I only buy one or two things, I do the aisle walk to see what’s new. Crazy I know. Have a great day Lori.

I really like that green dish…it is so cute.

We shop once a week and get addition fruit and vegetables from the farmers’ market that is across the street from the office.

I always shop at least one a week for everything. Then I usually stop by one other time each week for more fruit! 🙂
As long as the store isn’t packed full of people, I enjoy grocery shopping.

I don’t even ride a bike, yet I would ride 20 miles for a cupcake!

Buffalo chicken pizza = one of my very favorites. How ever did you hold yourself to just one slice. Oh, maybe that’s why you’re at maintenance and I’m not >-(

I do a big shop once a week but inevitably end up at the grocery store at least one more time no matter how much I plan.

I don’t know if you read comments a few days back, but…

I try and shop once a week, though we almost always end up going to the store for something in the middle of the week. Either I forgot something for a new recipe or we ran out of milk, or something. When we had lots of snow it was amazing how well I could plan and get enough groceries for a week though. I can do it, when I plan… 😛
