I've been following your blog for about a year now, but I'd never tried these custard oats. I broke down this week when my oatmeal and also making eggs got boring, and I had also run out of clean pans. So, custard oats is was...they are amazing! I've been eating them every morning for a week now! :-)

Thanks for stopping by! I am not sure about the microwave. I haven't tried it.
Microwaved oats and I don't function well together (boilover problems, big time). :D

I just got turned onto your blog and found these oatmeal ideas. I have long made oatmeal cooked with different things my breakfast of choice. Never thought of using the egg whites though. Sounds delicious and definitely going to give them a try. Pumpkin is one of my favorite mix ins...especially now that I have used up all the summer blueberries and blackberries that I picked and froze.

Can this stuff be done in the microwave? I usually put it all together and stick it in the microwave as I am not too functional at 4:30a.m. when my breakfast is usually cooking. LOL

Thanks for the recipes and thanks for the blog. It's going to be one of my favorites.

Custard oats changed the way I eat oatmeal. No joke. Gone are the days where I fight with clumpy bits of protein powder, now I've got my creamy bowl of extra-filling custard oats ;) I like it best with a whole egg though. The extra fat often keeps me full until lunchtime, which is basically unheard of for my tummy!

Yes, you could use a whole egg with this. I just use the whites because I want to put some fat on the top in terms of nuts or nut butter.
