This hit me: but it’s the inner me that is always striving for more. Striving for perfection, for that image of an athlete. And this: We need to give ourself the credit for continuing to try, minute after minute, day after day, to move forward in our healthiness journey.

I still hear those voices from when I was heavy & I keep fighting!

Thanks for the great post. I can so identify with what you are saying. As a child, I was one of the last ones chosen for the team every time. How humiliating it was for that young girl. I still suck at sports but I just “glow” at so many other things.
